Called for someone to come for an estimate for a blocked pipe backing up into the basement…read moreshower/toilet. Made it clear when the man arrived that this was for an ESTIMATE. Tech did the work WITH NO PERMISSION while we were upstairs checking with another plumber we'd called in the interim, then got pissed when we told him that we would be going with someone else and began yelling at us because he did the work already. Absolutely unprofessional attitude, honestly pretty obvious why they don't have many stars considering we were told someone would be here by 11AM and he got here around 2, and then had to put up with that nonsense. EDIT: and he broke the toilet seat. Unbelievable.

Showed up earlier than told (appreciate it but wasn't ready). Estimated & paid $875. Convinced sig other that the price was market value. Told us following morning. Took off of work. Showed up at 2 pm (after 2 phone calls). Plumber ran to home depot, said he got materials for under $30. Spent 1 hour working. Called company 3 days following asking for itemized bill. Representative finally called back and wanted to know why we wanted an itemized bill and who would view it. Hour later, got the itemized bill which included $99 service fee. I call, he tells me that $99 is for the work that was done. I questioned if the $99 is in addition to the TWO HOURS (not one) of the labor ($250/hour). He said the $99 is for doing the job (aka labor). Afyrr questioning further, he tells me the $99 is for coming out during a pandemic because they are trying to limit their jobs (24 hr company trying not to do jobs and stay in business?) I ask for a refund of $99 fee and he angrily says he will contact supervisor and call me back, hangs up. Material: $225 2 hrs labor ($250/hr): $500 Covid fee: $99 Tax on LABOR and materials: $52 Reported to BBB, Master plumbers of NJ, etc. DO NOT HIRE.

I no longer trust this company…read more We will not be using Service Professionals again. My biggest issue is not simply that they are expensive--it is how the pricing was handled. I was not home during the appointment, and my wife understood the approximately $1,400 total she was asked to approve as relating to the actual plumbing work being performed in our basement. Neither of us understood that $325 of that bill was simply to replace three customer-supplied cartridge filters under our kitchen sink, a job that takes only minutes and that I would have done myself had the price been clearly disclosed to us. Service Professionals maintains that the price was approved. I can only describe our experience: my wife was not made adequately aware that she was agreeing to a separate $325 charge for this incredibly simple task. I felt they took advantage of a situation where I wasn't home and the pricing wasn't clearly explained to her. I tried very hard to resolve this privately before writing a review. I spoke with customer service, remained polite throughout, repeatedly asked to speak with the owner or another member of management, followed up multiple times over more than two weeks, and made clear that I wanted to give them an opportunity to resolve this before we stopped using them. Ultimately, upper management refused to speak with me. They did refund $100, but that still leaves $225 to swap three filters that I supplied myself!!! When I quoted the other work to another plumber after the work had been completed, it also showed that the true plumbing work was also dramatically inflated. Adding insult to injury, the technician also left garbage at the work site and accidentally left his pressure gauge behind--both of which the company subsequently acknowledged. For me, the issue is ultimately trust. I need to be able to send someone to my home when I am not there and trust that my family will receive clear, transparent pricing before work is performed. After this experience, I will NOT be using service professionals again. I would strongly recommend any homeowners who hire them be home, ask many quesitons, get clear pricing before the work is performed, and understand exactly what each individual line item will cost before authorizing any work.

I explained multiple times that I'm a renter, that I was panicking a bit, and that I genuinely did not know what to do. Instead of helping, the woman on the phone told me they wouldn't be able to assist because I'm a renter and because my building has maintenance/property management. She even incorrectly told me "that's what your lease says," which was not true. My property manager had already told me I could handle the repair and deduct the cost from rent. What frustrates me most is what happened next: I called Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating, and the VERY FIRST thing they did was calmly explain how to shut off the water to stop the leak immediately. Roto-Rooter never once mentioned this -- despite knowing I had no idea what I was doing and that water was actively leaking. That basic advice could have saved me a lot of stress in the moment. It really felt like Roto-Rooter only cared whether they were getting paid, not whether a stressed customer actually needed help. Meanwhile, Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating immediately treated me like a human being and helped me solve the immediate problem before anything else. If you're in Jersey City, I'd strongly recommend supporting a smaller local company that actually cares about people.

My experience with Roto-Rooter in Bucks County has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. We recently bought a new townhome and scheduled a set of plumbing touch-ups before moving in -- and we're doing all of this while preparing to move with a 5-month-old baby. Instead of getting help, they wasted days of my time and left us worse off than when we started. They sent three different people, and each time I had to repeat the same scope all over again. First person: I drove ~30 minutes to meet and explain everything. I was told it's a "one-day job," they'd send a technician, provide a quote, and get it done. Second person: shows up and again takes hours just to hear the same list, then says sump pump replacement isn't his area and someone else will need to come -- even though I mentioned the sump pump from day one. Why send someone who can't handle what was clearly stated upfront? Then the third technician came and took three days, and somehow managed to make previously functional bathrooms unusable. He recommended replacing the pipe to the toilet tank, we approved it, and then he told me the new valve is leaking and that now a "soldering expert" is needed. After that, communication basically stopped. I even got a response implying he's "trying" to arrange someone but management isn't listening. That's not my problem -- I hired your company to fix plumbing, not to watch you internally argue while my home becomes unlivable. On top of that, I asked him to replace the bathtub faucet because it was old. He installed one that doesn't even have a working shower diverter / pull feature to switch water to the shower. It's shocking. We are moving this coming weekend and we may be moving into a home without working toilets and without a functioning shower because of their work and lack of follow-through. I will be uploading pictures/screenshots of my text conversations with them shortly. Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and money -- I strongly do not recommend.

The technician quoted $750 and proceeded to snake the line from the garage cleanout and a pipe junction inside the garage. He did not snake directly from the bathroom drain where the issue was occurring. Afterward, he asked me to flush the toilet once and said the line was clear. There was no clear explanation that the work would only be warrantied if I agreed to additional jetting service.(jet spray power washing). I paid $598.08 (with a coupon), thanked him, and even tipped him. This was April 24, 2026. Less than 24 hours later, the drain was backing up again. When I called, they sent another technician but told me I would have to pay again. I explained that the original issue had not been resolved, but they refused to stand behind the work and said it was not under warranty. I then hired another licensed plumber, who accessed the line from the basement toilet flange and found multiple clogs that had not been fully cleared. The issue was resolved at that time. (See Photo below ) For a nearly $600 service, I expected the issue to be resolved or at least addressed without additional charges.
