Really great bao, with interesting combinations! I love the hot chicken when it's on special and the sweet potato is a nice sweet ending! Only negative I can ever give them is that the place smells of rancid oil. Made it in today right when they opened and I dined in for about 20-25 minutes and then literally had to go home and shower because the smell was in my hair, permeated all my clothes and skin. Finally checked this place out and was not disappointed! We came in about 20 min before closing (which I get can be annoying), but after the lady at the register said "this will be to-go because we close at 9:30pm," I was a little bothered especially because there were other people in the restaurant eating. Just not the friendliest costumer service. Nonetheless, got home and devoured my meal! I got two of the Korean short rib baos and the tots. My boyfriend got the KFC and we both just couldn't believe how absolutely delicious everything was! They also don't skimp on meat portions which was awesome, you get plenty. King Bao is my favorite restaurant in all of Orlando. I fancy myself a connoisseur of delicious Orlando spots, and coming across King Bao changed my life. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I dream about their coconut shrimp Bao they offer at times, or that the Kickin Chicken calls out to me in my sleep. Their flavors are amazing, without being overwhelming. The Bao is a great portion size, so I don't feel 100% gluttonous as I gorge down my dinner Bao, followed by my dessert Bao (Did you hear that correctly? yes you did. DESSERT BAO). My girlfriend and I went to King Bao after we saw some reviews about it. We have had pork buns other places and loved them, so this seemed pretty cool. We each got a 3 Bao combo, which you can choose which 3 buns plus a drink. My girlfriend got the Coco Loco, Fire Cracker and Kickin Chicken. I got The Cuban, Hogzilla, Hot Chicken and ordered and extra bun, Glen Rhee Bao. We also got an order of the Fire Tots. They definitely do not skimp on the meat portions in the buns!! Overall they were all pretty good except we weren't big on the Hogzilla, we aren't too big on pork belly but wanted to try it. Our favorites were the Firecracker, the Cuban and the Coco Loco. The Hot Chicken had way too much sauce, and the Glen Rhee seemed like it was missing something but the meat flavor was really good!! The Fire Tots were basically regular tator tots with aioli and jalapeño on top, not bad though for $2.50. Very small establishment, but this place was packed the whole time we were there. Fair warning, if you stay and eat you will be left with and oil smell on you and your clothes. We will definitely be going back!! read more

Amazing and affordable food! One major downfall is the lack of parking. BE CAUTIOUS!!!! If you park in the lot behind it on the other side of the tiny poles YOU WILL BE TOWED! I'm not familiar with the area and didn't even notice the sign. What was supposed to be a nice cheap day turned into over $135. The towing alone was $135 and cash only. I know this isn't King Bao's fault but I wish they'd at least warn people because I'm sure this is very common. Stopped in here for a quick lunch the other day. It was alright. I'm not a die hard bao fan so maybe that's why I didn't love it.... Pros: it was quick, the combos are a good deal, and the two baos I ate (Carolina and fire cracker shrimp) were both pretty good. Cons: the menu is small, the only real other option besides baos is tots and maybe I don't always want deep fried everything. I did try the tots and didn't love them, they had a really heavy grease taste. Speaking of heavy grease... one of my biggest pet peeves with restaurants is when the oil/fryer smell is so bad that you smell like the fry pit after leaving the restaurant. This happened here and I was only inside for like 20 minutes. I hate hate hate oil smell in my hair and clothes for the rest of the day. Maybe if I was a bigger fan of bao I would've enjoyed it more, but as for now it's just an OK for me and I most likely won't go back. read more

The only real complaint I have about this place is that they don't make their own fresh Bao. They are bought Frozen from a company. Other than that, they are fairly tasty. Get the tater tots! read more

This place is amazingly delicious. I was surprised at how every flavor was so sport on and the Bao's were soft and fluffy. My boyfriend and I both got the hot chicken (which is a special - prob our favorite), the short rib, he got the grouper and I got the fried avocado special. Every single one was delicious, just want to try them all! We also got the truffle tots and the spicy hot tots (more flavor than the others). I would definitely come back here and I would recommend this place to everyone. Also, the prices are reasonable. Each bao is about 3.50-3.75. We purchased 6 baos and 2 orders of tots our total came out to $25-26. read more

Great. Another delicious Mills 50 restaurant within walking distance from my house. How am I supposed to lose weight with so many tasty options within a 8 minute walk? Early Bao Ranking 1. Shrimp 2. Chicken 3. Short rib I hope to see some special experimental bao's at some point. Here's to hoping they extend the hours to late night so I don't have to feel embarrassed getting Tako cheena take out at midnight 3 nights in a row. I will say all the baos I tried were tastier than offerings at the Baoery (old city fish space) so I'd say King Bao already has the Orlando Bao market on lock. I'm obsessed. Quick and incredibly tasty-- and best part is the owner remembers me (I've had some drunk nights stumbling in so that part is kind of embarrassing) but that I always want extra cilantro. I don't even have to ask anymore :) I haven't had a bao there I didn't like - but I definitely have my two favorites. The Hogzilla is the perfect combination of pickled toppings and extremely flavorful pork belly. The tofu in the Veganville is perfectly cooked (and I'm picky about my tofu). I don't know what all the hype is about. I tasted six out of seven baos. The crab cake was surrounded with a thick layer of breading. The shredded Korean short rib was dry. The tofu didn't have any flavor. They were most successful with the pork belly but it still needed more seasoning. This can be achieved by having a more flavorful braising liquid. What they need to work on is the flavor development of the proteins. The accompaniments and garnishes will enhance the overall flavor of the bao. I am in love with their tater tots, and their shrimp mango salsa bao and even the pork belly bao! Just dined in here and ordered 6 baos. The hogzilla which consists of braised pork was so fatty. The shrimp firecracker was awful. The shrimp left a bad taste in my mouth. It doesn't go very well with guacamole. The kickin chicken was probably my favorite. The inlet harbor was bad. It was so bland. The glen rhee with short ribs wasn't marinated well. It was super chewy. The omg was with fried grouper and it was also bad. Most of the sauces used on the bao didn't go well with their choice of toppings and meat. After paying $22 for only 6 baos, I left feeling very unsatisfied. I didn't even finish my last two baos which were the bland seafood baos. I don't think I will be back. People who left a good review haven't had good baos. read more

This was a pretty awesome find. The place is pretty young and lively had a nice ambiance. The food was amazing my favorite Bao is the firecracker shrimp. I also had the coco loco which is coconut shrimp , it was good but I think they should add a sauce to it. I loved the fact the napkin holders each have a personalized picture in them. You can tell the owner added a lot of detail to her restaurant. The only downfall is that the parking is pretty annoying other then that it's a Pretty great place I would recommend to anyone. read more

I want to give this a 3.5, 3 seems too low and 4 seems to over shoot a bit. King Bao is conveniently located in Mills/50 area. It's very clean and bright, the service is friendly and like everywhere in the area, the seating is limited. The buns are good, they're so soft and the filling combinations aren't bad either. The beef on the Glen Rhee was a little dry in my opinion but the flavor of the actual meat was good. The kimchi chicken was tasty and so was the crab cake. The dessert bao was OK, fried bun with Publix vanilla ice cream and peanuts, it was nothing to call home about. I would have preferred it maybe with cinnamon or something that stands out. The portion is small but the prices reflect that, it's very affordable. Makes you want to sit there and eat multiple buns. I think that with a little tweaking this place could really be a local hit.
