Sushi island has been on our list for some time now. Really glad we got to try it. We went on a weekday for lunch. The place is much bigger than I anticipated. This could be a good spot if you are trying to come with a big group. It was clean and the staff were all very friendly! We tried a few things. Favorite rolls were double crunchy and crazy yellowtail rolls! Of course the quality of the fish isn't incredible but it matches AYCE for $21.95 price. My wife and I happened to stumble upon Sushi island coming back from the airport, as we were discussing healthier lunch options. We were so glad we decided to try it out because we absolutely loved it! The lunch special was all-you-can-eat for $21.95! Literally everything on the lunch menu was fair game. There's way too much to list, so I'll just mention some dishes we tried. Kimchi salad, edamame, Shrimp Tempura Roll (5pcs), Eel Cucumber Roll, Gyoza, Shumai, Crab Rangoon, Shrimp Tempura, Pineapple/veggie fried rice, beef fried rice, noodles with chicken, Chicken Katsu, strawberry Ice Cream, and tiramisu. Literally everything was good and tasted fresh!The standout dishes were: Eel Cucumber Rolls, Gyoza, Shumai, fried rices, and the Chicken Katsu. Just can't make it 5 stars because the food was kinda mid. For sashimi, we got salmon, white tuna, scallops, sweet shrimps & eel. Only salmon tasted right, the others just pretty forgettable. The sushi rolls were actually pretty good. They had a distinct and unique flavor, rather than being generic like other AYCE restaurants. Mussels were great. Takoyaki & chicken katsu was a bit too salty. Fried rice was too oily. Udon soup w/ roasted pork was good, recommended order it when you almost done with the meal. I was very excited to see another AYCE location opening so close to home. We are big fans of Sushi Yama, but hate the drive. The food was not bad, but the quality was not as good as other places we've tried. The sushi rolls were nicely presented, as well as the other dishes. However, I don't think there was anything that stood out. The dessert selection was interesting, some of the items didn't match the display description, but if you're a regular at these types of establishments, you knew what they were. They also had two types of fruit. They did have the tiramisu squares that I like, which was nice. I thought it was interesting that they had strawberries in their dish decor, but not as a dessert item. They did have three flavors of ice cream, but it was the style of the little cup cartons. Our server was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed in terms of our orders and our drinks. Inside it is very pretty with these fishes attached to the walls where they seemed to be swimming around the whole place. The bathroom was nice and clean. Overall, I think Ocean Buffet is a better option in the area since they have better tasting items (although less sushi choices), but Sushi Yama is still in our top ranking for sushi + quality. Wake up Orlando! A new sushi spot just dropped! This used to be the bar Aroggahs, which wasn't really popular. They have a good all you can eat menu! My coworker and I had a great time trying Sushi Island for the first time today. We got the Dinner which was about $35 each not including drinks. I liked that the menu had a ton of options and that it was made fresh to order. We got all sorts of stuff and everything was pretty good. We got there at 5 pm so there was still plenty of seating but it started to get busy when we left around 6 pm. For apps, we ordered takoyaki, egg rolls, gyoza, shumai and calamari and a ginger house salad for each of us. Everything was great but I think the calamari was my favorite. My friend got a shrimp roll, a shrimp tempura oil and 2 crunch rolls. I ordered 1 California handroll, a single massage sushi, 2 tuna and 2 salmon sashimi, a shrimp udon and chicken hibachi. The salmon sashimi was my favorite and I could've probably eaten another two , but the handroll was a close second. Unfortunately the chicken hibachi didn't arrive until after dinner. read more

I definitely recommend giving this place a try! There's a great variety of menu items to choose from like fried appetizers, seafood appetizers, hand rolls, and even udon which I want to try in the future. We usually go for eel, salmon, shrimp, and some fun rolls. Everything tasted fresh, and I even loved the tuna tartare which I usually don't prefer because tuna tends to taste fishy to me. I also liked the eel much better than other places. Lastly, the sushi came with the perfect amount of rice. The middle section with all the tables has cafeteria vibes but there are booths as well. We tried a variety of things. Salmon tar tar was good Hand rolls were good. Skip the spicy kani that was awful Tuna tataki was standard Fat boy roll was good. Spicy girl roll was great Baby tiger roll was not a hit perhaps if they offered fresh salmon instead of smoked it would be better They have a real baby changing table in the female restroom rather than one of those plastic drop downs. If you're looking for a fun all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Orlando, Sushi Island definitely gives me the same vibes as Sushi Yama -- endless sushi, appetizers, and even hibachi options that make it perfect for groups or when you come in really hungry. The sushi was pretty decent and honestly not bad at all for the pricing. Not the freshest fish around but it's not bad. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, and food came out surprisingly fast even when it was busy. My favorite was the eel as always --flavorful, and consistently good. The cucumber salad tasted super fresh and refreshing, and I also loved the variety of soups available: miso, clear mushroom, and clam soup were all comforting starters. One of the coolest parts is the all-you-can-eat ice cream and dessert bar with fruit. I do wish there were a few more dessert options, but overall it's still a fun concept and a nice way to end the meal. There were tons of hand rolls, specialty rolls, and different fish cuts to choose from, so it never felt repetitive. This NEW all you can eat sushi restaurant in my backyard SUSHI ISLAND had to check it out. From the minute I walked in I was greeted with a smile. Ethan was super polite and guided me through the menu. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and it was buzzing with people around noon. The food was extremely fresh and delicious The restaurant and bathrooms were extremely clean. Nice atmosphere as well. For sure I'll be coming back with friends. This new spot immediately became a favorite for me last night. They did everything right! The staff was super friendly and greeted you with a smile as soon as you walk in. The decor was super modern and clean, great lighting and comfortable seating however, some of the tables were pretty close together. All you can eat sushi, table service for $34.95 is unheard of! The presentation exceeded my expectations! Every dish came out looking like a piece of art! It was so beautiful and tasted even more delicious! My favorites were the spicy kani salad, shumai, yellowtail and octopus sashimi. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish and trying new things. The sake flight is a must!! I loved everything I tried. But my faves were the yuzu sparkling and the pineapple(see pix). There was ample parking and we were seated right away on a Friday evening. I love this place for many reasons. It's close to my home and very clean and stylistic in design. It's very similar to Sushi Yama in concept for this AYCE. However, the food quality is much better than I expected. The hosts are friendly and the server was attentive and warm. I've eaten there 3 times since it opened. The price is competitive to other sushi AYCE, and they do offer a lunch menu. Everything tastes fresh whether it's sushi or hot food items. My favorites are the Shrimp Tempura Udon, Teppan Shrimp, and most of the appetizer dishes like Jalapeno Yellowtail, Baked Mussels, Kani salad and even the sushi rolls. I tend to get the sashimi and there's a decent selection for dinner. Even the presentation for my sashimi was well done! The dessert is limited but you'll be too stuffed to eat it. Is it the best sushi? Better than other AYCE, but if you want spectacular sushi, you're better off going to an elevated sushi bar. However, for the value and freshness, this is the best option on this side of town. I hope they continue to stay consistent in quality. There's plenty of parking as they have their own lot. Awesome AYCE sushi spot! Large parking lot, friendly service, cute decor, and great sushi - what could be better! The All You Can Eat menu is huge and includes a lot of items typically not on others, including sashimi, scallop, tartares, udon soup, and a ton of speciality rolls. Our favorites were the salmon and scallop sushi/sashimi, the Spicy Girl Roll, the King Kai Roll, and the spicy kani salad. Their dinner price is $34.95 which I find to be right on par with other AYCE spots with the same quality. Honestly, I know it can be taboo to mention another restaurant in a review, but if you like Sushi Yama, the dishes here seem to be made with the same kinds of fish because we found everything to be similar (plus more options here!) - we love that place too so we were pleasantly surprised! Another standout part of the meal was our server, Graham, who was super sweet! He answered any questions we had, brought over extra sauces and such quickly, and checked in on us at a good frequency. He did tell us early on that the sushi rolls typically take a bit longer than the rest of the menu, which we definitely found to be true, so that was good advice - get your roll order in early! We came at 7pm on a Friday and it was relatively empty but it really started getting busy around 7:30-45pm. Service was maintained and the speed of food coming out (minus the rolls) was the same! Just tried this newly opened sushi spot and had a great experience. The restaurant is clean, the service is excellent, and the sushi is fresh. Everything is ordered through an iPad, and it's unlimited!!! you can order as much as you want. After seeing Sushi Island open recently, we've been wanting to try it out. (Admittedly, I was nervous because it's in the cursed building that no restaurant ever survives in) The decor and vibe inside is really cool. The Sushi chefs are in an open layout that can be seen from the dining room. There is also a nice bar/smaller seating area near the front of the restaurant that I'd like to try on out next visit. Everything is super clean and tidy, including the restrooms as well! There's also a cute little vending machine at the entrance that can be played for a dollar a try. My fiancée gave it a shot and actually won a little bride-duck plushee on her first try! (Which is fitting considering our wedding is in less than 2 months. lol) This is an all-you-can-eat sushi/hibachi restaurant. But this spot's a little different. Normally at restaurants like this that I've visited in the past, you can choose between AYCE Sushi OR hibachi, but here, for $35 you can basically eat as much as you want from the ENTIRE menu! There's simple sushi, sashimi, rolls, specialty rolls, hibachi steak, chicken, shrimp, different types of katsus, apps, soups, etc. There's a lot to choose from so we decided to go for as much of the menu as we could! I took as many photos as I could remember but I would get so excited to try new things coming to our table so I didn't get everything. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. They constantly check in on you to make sure you arent finishing a plate and waiting too long for your next one. Since this restaurant JUST opened, they still haven't quite nailed down their table orders yet, as a few times orders from other tables kept getting sent to ours, which I don't blame them for. I think that'll get better as they nail down their table numbers with experience. They also JUST finalized their liquor license so we weren't able to try and drinks on this visit, but I'm excited to come back and try their bar and see what offerings they will have next time. They have a small selection of light desserts and ice creams that you can help yourself to at the end of your meal that don't make you feel like youre gonna explode at the end of an AYCE dinner, which I really appreciate. We all had a great time and managed to put down more than enough to make the price pay for itself. The venue was kind of quiet when we visited but it was also during a slower part of the day. The place is also beautiful very clean and elegant. I was blown away by the sushi that's available here for the price. Everything is made to order and brought to your table as soon as it's ready I got the mango popping Boba tea with my meal and it was absolutely delicious. I was surprised that they had Boba tea at this location. They also have a cute claw machine in front that I played and I want a plushy. I wish they had more arcade games. It would add to the vibes. The service there was good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The place is nice they have a ton of lights everywhere. The mood is very like...between casual and fancy. They have a little freezer that has ice creams in it. Chocolate strawberry and vanilla. They have a claw machine to get toys right by the entrance. The bar area looks very nice and like they have a good variety of liquor. The size of the restaurant and bar are decent too. I liked the hibachi shrimp and the soups are very good. It's great that we have another AYCE sushi option, and this time in east Orlando! The team here did a great job creating a very nice aesthetic with a variety of impressive visuals. The team are all friendly and efficient, and the menu is quite varied so even those who may not be fans of sushi can enjoy options (like hibachi style meats and veggies). I do wish the menu provided context for all the rolls, while the specialty rolls include descriptions the more classic ones do not. Which makes it more of a guessing game for those not as sushi versed as myself, or takes time from the busy staff to explain them. The food overall is good, though the non-sushi options were not anything spectacular. So if you're coming for unlimited sushi, it's a reasonable price for what you are getting and ideally come with others so you can share the variety of tasty rolls! I love that the portions on the appetizers are smaller so you don't fill up on them too quickly and can try different things. i forgot to take photos of our appetizers but there was 4-6 pieces of calamari, the fried rice portions weren't too big, and the hibachi potions were perfect. Our server was very sweet and personable, and the other staff were also great with making sure our order comes out quickly. some of our food did come out after we had already eaten dessert. Sushi Island Winterpark - an opening night review. TL;DR - it was great and we will be back! Space is gorgeous. This is the former Aroogas sports bar and you would never know it used to be covered in TVs with a wall of astroturf. My only complaint about the space is with the high ceilings it gets very loud. But hey I'm not there to chat, I'm there to eat. It's AYCE menu order but they do have a cute little fruit and dessert bar with ice cream cups freezer that's self serve. The menu is almost identical to our usual AYCE place, Sushi Yama, so comparisons will be made. Just gonna go down the line here: Grapefruit Lemonade - tart but balanced and the yogurt popping boba added a neat creamy burst. Can't compare to Yama because they don't have this drink but I already like Sushi Island's drink menu better House salad - crisp, dressing was chunky and not watery, good ginger flavor but maybe heavy on the mirin, both places have pros and cons so this is a draw Spicy Kani Salad - better than Y, krab is actually shredded and well dressed and not clumped together Cucumber Salad - it was just julienned cucumber on top of a house salad, not julienned and dressed in a ponzu sauce like Y, Y wins here Shumai - very delicately fried and not coated in batter, better than Y but wish it was served with a soy dipping sauce than the sweet and sour Krab Rangoon - default win for SI because Y doesn't have these. They were crisp, well filled and while barely any Krab they hit that Chinese takeout vibe Jalapeño Fry - also default win for SI because Y doesn't have. Unfortunately it was stuffed with spicy salmon which cooked when deep fried and I have childhood trauma from cooked salmon so this was the only thing I didn't like - but the cook on it was fantastic Miso Soup and Edamame - no notes, standard and good Cowboy Roll - it's a tie for both places though I like Y just a bit more because of the crunchy onion they put on top. Princess Roll - this was an impulse order because SI doesn't have the other roll we usually get. It was fried well so the inside didn't overcook. A bit of a carb bomb but so are most fried rolls, not greasy at all. Steak Hibachi - pretty good cut of steak and tender enough to bite through, sauce was less garlickey than Y, so I think Y wins this one. Nigiri and Sashimi - SI wins here at least for now. Everything was cut properly for a good bite, rice was warm and fresh, and the salmon was nice and fatty while the tuna had some flavor despite being the lean cut. And finally the one thing that will bring me back time and time again - roast pork udon. The udon were still a bit chewy and took on the flavor of the delicate yet flavorful broth. The absolute jaw dropper was the slice of chasWA SUSHItasted like charcoal and smoke and pork fat and I would expect this from a top tier ramen place, not an AYCE sushi place. This is now my 2nd favorite udon soup (WA SUSHI still wins with their nabeyaki udon). The only hiccup we hit was thru started getting packed around 7:30 and the sushi bar backed up hard, but management was checking in on our sashimi wait and offered free teas while we waited. They did say they will be hiring more sushi staff so hopefully that gets taken care of soon since I think they'll be very busy for a long time! PS - bathrooms have the "Vacant/Occupied" locks and every bathroom should do that IMO. read more

I will say the reason I gave the four stars is because I was a bit disappointed I couldn't order Al a carte. I had tried the bubba gump which came with tempura shrimp , steamed shrimp, spicy mayo and avocado and it was really good. The sushi has smaller sizes .I also tried the double crunch roll which is a sweet potato roll . I love sweet potato sushi . It was really good and flavorful . I tried sashimi for the first time and mussels . The mussels did taste like they came from the ocean lol but I expected that. Visited this new restaurant & the location is very nice. We really enjoyed our experience, but my main feedback would be regarding the time limit. We were told that there was a 2 hour limit for the table, which we were happy to abide by. The main issue that we had was that our server was not coming around to take our orders which was frustrating considering we had limited time. We had to flag down the server to get him to come over & then after taking our order it took him a while to come back to check on us. We ordered Soju to drink and it took a very long time to receive. Considering it doesn't need to be crafted it should not have taken very long. Although the service was slow, there was four of us and we all really enjoyed our food. We'll definitely plan to return but wanted to give the feedback on the time limit and the service. Quality was great! read more

We went to Sushi Island tonight for my daughter's and her best friends graduation dinner and it was so FANTASTIC!!! The food, service, and ambiance were spectacular!!! If you love sushi, this restaurant is a must visit. There were 15 people in our party and everyone was satisfied. My wife, son, and I tried this spot for the first time last night (the day before Valentine's Day) and were so impressed. Even though it was a busy holiday weekend, our 30-minute wait ended up being much shorter than expected. The vibe is great and casual, but the quality of the sushi is truly top-notch. We started with the Miso soup, edamame, and the Mango Salmon and Yellowtail Jalapeño appetizers, which were all fresh and flavorful. For the main event, we ordered a variety of rolls: the Naruto, the Spicy Girl, and the Crazy Yellowtail to name a few. Every single one was delicious. We also tried the shrimp fried rice and Hibachi Beef, which was cooked perfectly. A huge shout-out to our server, who was absolutely fantastic. He was so kind and attentive despite the restaurant being packed. It was a wonderful first experience, and we will definitely be back! read more
