Definitely a hole in a wall restaurant on Colonial, but definitely a good place to come to! Service was quick and the people working here are really friendly. I know everyone goes for the various Seafood Boils, but don't overlook the Po Boy Sandwiches if you are in the mood for something different. I got the Flounder Po Boy and it was delicious! Nice and crispy on the outside while moist on the inside, signs of a perfectly cooked piece of fish. We've been dining here for years - it's truly the definition of a hole in the wall as you might easily miss it when in the Mills/Colonial 50 food district. Parking is typical of restaurants in this area, but there are many options and if you have to park farther away you can quickly walk! The food is usually fresh, hot, and yummy! This most recent time was a little lacking in flavor compared to previous visits but the shrimp was high quality, easy to peel, truly "jumbo" sized, and fresh. OK, let me start off by saying a 5 star review must be earned, I don't easily give them away. That said here is one of those rare occasions. The stars are for the absolute best steamed crabs I ever eaten. Now mind you I've eaten and cooked a many of crabs in my day from all across the east coast. Our other seafood boil place had stopped serving lunch so we decided to try LA Boiling Seafood for lunch. To be fair, we came in through the back door, but the stench of old raw seafood was overwhelming. This place is pretty small, the decor is just okay and the restaurant is non-descript. The food however was very tasty and service fast. We tried several different meals, including the shrimp boil, crawfish boil, crab legs (varying sauces and spice levels), and the fried shrimp basket, all very delicious and portions were large. I love blue crabs and this is one of the few places I can find them. When they have them they are always a great size. I usually order the 6 blue crabs or the fried 3 blue crabs. Always large or xl and they rarely disappoint. I'm from a beach town so the price isn't exactly great but the size makes it worthwhile for me. The seasoning is pretty good as well. Definitely not what I'm used to but I like that it's a different flavor. I've had wings from here before as well and they're pretty good too! We came to this restaurant based on the high reviews and it definitely did not disappoint!! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely phenomenal!! We ordered "The Ultimate" seafood combo platter with Cajun seasoning.. mind you my husband and I can eat A LOT of seafood because it takes so darn long to get at all of the meat so we ended up leaving full but hungry 20 minutes later. Besides perhaps needing to order more, the food was perfectly seasoned and they were magically able to really get the flavor into all of the nooks and crannies of the crab and crawfish. Even if you peeled the shrimp you could taste the burst of Cajun yumminess. The host wasn't the absolute friendliest but she gave us a side of lemons, gloves, and the food was brought out piping hot within 15 min or so of us ordering. This is a hole in the wall place that you could easily pass by in the midst of a plethora of Vietnamese markets and restaurants crammed into a few blocks. But if you don't mind a lack of ambience --except for walls covered with graffiti -- and you love seafood, this place is for you. The LA refers to Louisiana where the family first started in the restaurant business. You will notice that a number of dishes include creole or Cajun seasonings as well as highly spicy choices. Their seafood gumbo even says in the menu description: spicy; and it is peppery. But the small cup we had was packed with goodies including oysters, small shrimp, and crawfish along with celery, onions, okra, spicy sausage, peppers, and tomato. We shared a cup while waiting for our main meal. We ordered a chicken fingers and fries appetizer for the kids to share just as a back up. So that's an option for non seafood lovers. We went with a dozen steamed blue crabs old bay style. They asked how spicy we wanted it and we said mild. Although they had a touch of kick when we got them. They only had mediums that day which seemed small but were quite good. Ask for the day market price. They come served in a large aluminum pan. They give you paper plates and a metal cracker. You can also get crabs in garlic butter sauce or fried as well as shrimp, oysters, crawfish, etc. They had the posted market price of live crawfish on the window. There are a ton of other options including poor boy sandwiches. One very popular one is their soft shell crab sandwich. And there are also combo boils with corn and potatoes and a mix of seafood. Check out the pictures on yelp -- you'll get the idea. Hint: if you want to save your hands or your manicure, ask for gloves. They keep latex gloves behind the counter and it's much easier and less messy. In keeping with their Louisiana roots, they also have beignets for dessert covered in powder sugar. Parking is street side or in the small lot behind the restaurant. Come early for the most options and the best parking. Wear jeans and come hungry! read more

While vacationing in Orlando we were craving for Seafood boil, after some Yelp research La boiling keeps popping up as one the best choices. We drove about 20 minutes from our resort and it was worth it, we were amazed and blown away by the quality and taste of the food. This is a small, humble, cozy, family owned restaurant, it seems like everyone is a regular since everyone knows and says hi to the owners and employees. Be patience, absolutely noone was complaining for the waiting, we couldn't believe one single lady was sitting people, cleaning tables and taking orders for the entire restaurant of about 10 tables, we were a little hesitated but once the food arrived we felt in haven. By far the tastiest Seafood boil we've ever tried. We ordered the "Ultimate" combo platter for $42.99 full of cajun flavors, garlicky, juicy, perfectly seasoned "Snow crab clusters" 1lb, head off Shrimp 1/2 pound, Crawfish 1/2 lb, 1 corn and 1 potato, big enough to split. I've been coming to this place for years, so it's only right I show my love to this place. When it comes to wanting to just get down and dirty with some saucy sea food, this is for sure my go to spot (with Hot n Juicy coming in at a close second). Coming in, the inside is definitely modest with graffiti and writing on the walls adding a lot of character to the dining area. Service here has always been quick and, as a side note, it's really impressive how well the people on staff are able to remember a six person order without writing down a single note. It goes to show that they've definitely been doing this for a while and are super confident in their quality of service. If it's your first time here and you're with a group, I would definitely opting for one of their platters. They're big enough to share, but don't be surprised if you end up demolishing the entire platter on your own. The flavor options are pretty varied. But be sure to realize a lot of the flavor is on the outside (the shell of the seafood). So don't be shy to suck down on the crab shells while working your way through the platter. You should definitely expect to leave here with a full belly and messier than when you left. They do provide gloves if you're squeamish about using your bare hands though.
