I was hesitant to try this based off of the terrible reviews, but I'm thought I went in. For one the lunch buffet is huge and only cost $13. I enjoyed everything I hate, all the food was tasty, the only complaint I had is that a few of the chicken items were not hot. They really need to do a better job of keeping track of the temperatures. For buffet the place is clean, and the service is really good, they kept my drink filled and removed the dirty plates almost immediately. I would definitely go back if I'm ever in Sanford again. They will try to overcharge you if your child does not SEEM like their age. This year I realized that they were charging my 10 year old child as an adult. We drove almost an hour from Granite Falls, NC to try out this newly opened buffet. The hot sour soup was cold and tasted funny. Noodles for the soup were very stale. Most of the food was not warm and tasted bad. Told the waitress, she could barely speak English. Oh so sorry is all she said instead of offering to fix the issues. Asked about it when we paid. I'm not even sure why we went here. We were driving back from Jordan Lake around 8ish, and spotted this buffet and though, hmmm...it's worth a try (even though we don't like to frequent buffets). Well, there was a Chinese family running the show, which was a good sign... but that's about it. The workers were recovering from dinner service, because there were buckets of cleaning materials everywhere, but I can't say that it was really 'clean'. The seats were still sticky from the previous customers, though our booth was just recently cleaned. The food selection was nothing to be ecstatic about. There was Italion Chicken, yes...Italian Chicken...in a Chinese restaurant. There was a plethora of fried dumplings, breads, chicken, and 'seafood', which was expected. My sister said that the egg drop soup was more 'cornstarchy' than most. So of you're really hungry and have nowhere else to eat (like the Ruby Tuesdays or Cracker Barrel) a few doors away, then have at it! This is by far the worst Chinese buffet I've been to. They should've known once I remembered the name of their buffet that it was over for them and their establishment. I'm mad that I even have to rate it. The bathrooms were filthy, the toilet seats were dirty and there were rings around the toilet. This rating is based on what's available close to me (I had to travel 30 min for a decent all you can eat Chinese - reminding me why I'm def not a country girl I need to live closer to a major city). What can I say? They're close to our house and sometimes we're just too lazy to cook dinner and still want something marginally healthy (non-fast food). King has bok choy, stir fried green beans and tons of broccoli on the buffet. Meat favorites include the pepper chicken, Jindu pork and dumplings. We tend to like it because we can eat a meal almost entirely comprised of meat, veggies and fruit with little filler or starch. Though, I usually do pick up a little lo mein, so hard to resist. :) If you're looking for a quick dinner and it's getting on the late side, they're open until 10pm...something we've been grateful for a few times. I could really do without the pizza and American standards on the bar, but them's the brakes, I guess. And skip the soup, theirs isn't the best. read more

To start off the buffet has a lot to offer, from seafood to chicken to beef and lots of sweet treats. The food tastes ok, again you will get what you pay for. I've never been so appalled by a restaurant. This evening we went into the king chinese buffet, our waitress got our drink orders and my husband and I took turns going to the buffet. We had our 6 year old son and 8 month old daughter, she was in a high chair. Once we sat down with our food, the waitresscame over and picked up our baby and walked several feet away with her, without saying a word to us. She then proceeded to give her a fortune cookie to "play" with. Even my 8 month old had more sense than to take it from her. We watched as she walked around, again away from our table, talking to her coworkers and showing her off. We actually thought she was going to take her in the kitchen, she was awfully close. After a few minutes, we were watching the whole time, I went and took my baby from her. The entire experience made us lose our appetite, we couldn't finish our dinner. It was just so inappropriate to take someone's child, anywhere, without asking. Keeping her at the table would have been one thing, but caring her off and giving her things was completely unacceptable. Whenever we come to Sanford, we always have the chance to choose something different. When neither of us can decide, we go here. We love Chinese and it's a good place for it. The food is good and there's a lot of variety, from different styles of chicken, rice, beef, and even American foods as well. Be cautious with the salad stuff though, as sometimes it might not be fresh. Everything's good though and the staff are friendly. The restaurant isn't dirty, but can be if there's unsupervised children around. Also, some of the booths have wear on them--it shouldn't matter though since you're there to eat!
