So I turned the Yelp started looking at donuts spots. When perusing I saw this place had a blueberry filled doughnut, which I wanted myself. So I chose this place and it's cool cause they have a drive-through and I know that's nothing special when you're going to chain places. Most places that are not chains do not have drive-through. The blueberry diet was awesome. I got a coffee for myself and a bagel with veggie cream cheese. The bagel wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away like the blueberry doughnut. Then I got a dozen donuts and like a coffee party box that came with a ton of sugar and milk and everything you could need for a coffee station. It was a hit with the crew. My only complaint was the car that I had was a rental and it was kind of shorter so when handing the box out to me, the donut box almost spilled, and then the box with the coffee and all the accoutrements started to rip. I kept it simple and ordered a glaze donut as well as a chocolate sprinkles donut and boy oh boy, I think Neil's has one of the best chocolate sprinkles donuts I've ever had. Overall, Neil's Donuts is a dang gem and one of the best things Connecticut has to offer and such a great place. I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. We ordered a 8 pack of mini donuts and 2 protein doughnuts. The mini doughnuts came in a myriad of flavor combos. Those flavors were pronounced, the base is a cake doughnut so it's spongy but light. It's a good cake doughnut, but I'm not really a fan of cake style doughnuts. For me, cake doughnuts need to be right out the oven to be good. These were made recently, but cooled significantly and not to my preference. The protein doughnuts were dipped fresh. They were not much different in terms of consistency but it's a much denser doughnut and a bit of chew because of the protein powder. It also has the aftertaste of sunflower shells that health products tend to have. Not unpleasant, but makes it taste like standard "healthy" products It's not bad, but it's also not great. For the price is right for the quality, and it's one of the few dessert options for the area. It's worth a try if you're around or if you really like cake doughnuts, but I wouldn't trek there.

Since this is a food truck, and it was raining, I had no option but to take it to my car. This donut was jam packed with pecans, chocolate and maple frosting. We found them in a small shopping center with plenty of parking on East Main Street (Route 202). The dining room is modestly sized with four tables. We saw they have about a dozen bagel flavors (including French Toast and Cranberry), six cream cheeses, seventeen breakfast sandwiches (including Ribeye Steak and Roast Beef), twelve Specialty Sandwiches (including some cool names like Pastrami Crispy and Big Boy Cheese), plus muffins, hash browns, and coffees - plenty of coffee choices. Yes, they have a Latte, Cappuccino, and Macchiato, but what distanced them from ordinary bagel store coffees (at least in my mind), was the hit parade of twenty-nine flavored coffees - spanning the alphabet from Amaretto and Almond Joy to Salted Caramel and Sweet Irish Cream. We ordered at the counter from Leonora, a very engaging and friendly host. Our order was simple -an Everything Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese, an Everything Bagel with Scallion Chive Cream Cheese, a small coconut coffee and a small Chocolate Banana coffee. Everything ran a teense under $15. Our coffees were made first, a few minutes later, our bagels were ready, so we sat down at one of the tables and dug in. My first observation was that the bagel itself was large and was served warm, as though it had recently come out of the oven. It had plenty of tasty Scallion Chive Cream Cheese. The combination of the warm bagel, the cream cheese, and the savory taste of the Everything seasoning and bits of scallions combined for a real taste treat. And when I took a sip of my coffee, my breakfast zoomed into another dimension because that Chocolate Banana Coffee was amazing, I mean it was terrific. I loved the distinct banana and chocolate flavors. As we enjoyed our meal, we saw a steady stream of walk-in customers and food delivery pickups. We noted that when a Grub Hubber or Door Dasher came in to pick up an order, the drinks were made in real time, not pre-poured. This meant the coffees would be delivered as hot as possible, and the cold drinks wouldn't be watered down by melted ice. There were so many nice things we experienced at Lola's.
