Our old furnace was leaking carbon monoxide and needed to be replaced. Tamer promptly came out when we called him and gave us a reasonable quote. He told us the previous furnace company had installed too large a furnace (120,000 BTUs). He stated that this meant our furnace was constantly turning off and on trying to heat a larger house and that made it less efficient because it wore the furnace out. We did some research online and found that was true. He installed a smaller furnace (100,000 BTUs) and it appears to be working more efficiently. We appreciated his honesty. Tamer came out quick and communicated when he would approximately arrive. I've not had much success with service professionals the last several years so he started off well. He asked a bunch of questions and got right to work. My 4 year old was very curious and basically in the way and Tamer did not get annoyed even the slightest. After a while of cleaning and checking he found the culprit of our furnace shutting down. He took pics to show us the issue causing it and took care of it. I first went to my home warranty company, Liberty Home Guard, and they sent a representative from a different company to diagnose the issue with my HVAC system. When that representative came, he was quick to state that there was a leak and he was going to advise the warranty company that the air handling unit needed to be replaced (without doing a full diagnosis) because he looked at the age. I went along with it, but the warranty company said they couldn't help because they don't cover leaks of any kind. I asked the other company representative to come back to properly diagnose and he stiffed me. That's when I called Tamer, from Temperature One, to help me diagnose the problem with my HVAC. I was very lucky to be connected with Tamer when I sent out a request for quotes to several companies through Yelp. We bought an investment property recently that's in need of some work. We've been updating things that we expected, but we didn't expect to find one day, all of a sudden, that when we turned the AC on, there would be a huge puddle of water pooling from behind the drywall of our flat! This was super frustrating and worrisome because we were already getting a lot of work done, and couldn't stomach seeing the drywall between our dining room & daughters' bedroom ripped up to deal with this huge puddle of water that would pile up with every blast of cold air from our AC. But, groaning, we sent out the request for a quote. Tamer responded in 2 minutes with an estimate, his availability, and with the click of a button I was able to schedule a time for him to come over. He was also very understanding and reasonable when I realized I double booked (which is not cool during COVID). He just came over the next day instead. Initially I was expecting great service, but the guy was super late. I understand that he's booked & busy but he gave me a 2 hour time block (8-10am) then called at 9:55am to say that he was running behind. Then we rescheduled for the 2-4pm time block & he was still late. Finally, he showed at 5pm. He cleaned my furnace then told me he would show me what he found. So....he suggests 2 repairs & showed me a picture of a crack in the furnace. I'm noticed that he didn't show me the issue while his camera was on but only showed me a pic on the phone. I was skeptical. Tamer seems nice but I was concerned that he insisted I needed repairs & wanted to turn the gas off on my furnace. Why pay you to clean the furnace, you claim that I have a crack in my furnace but won't show me the crack with your camera on? Something was fishy here. He insisted that carbon monoxide would be leaking out, but neither of my CO2 alarms ever go off & I change the battery yearly. Finally, I noticed that he didn't change my furnace filter, after he told me that a new filter was included with the cleaning service. Sad to say, I was disappointed in the service received.
