Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids went on a Thursday evening, so there weren't too many customers. Despite this, staff was borderline rude, or maybe just brusque. English did not seem to be a strong suit, maybe hire someone who speaks the language to serve customers would help. The burgers are ridiculously huge, although my 13 y.o. son was able to polish off a 1/2 pounder (the smallest size). The prices are also super-high. We had a kid's meal (chicken fingers, fries, and a small drink), a philly sandwich, a philly dinner plate (philly sandwich, greek salad, and a small drink), a 1/2 lb. burger and a small drink for $45. Waaay too expensive. I picked up some napkins and forks at the condiment stand and had to push away a bucket of water and a rag--apparently, someone was cleaning and left it there. However the whole time we were there, despite few customers, and an employee sitting within a few feet of the bucket, no one moved it. Yarg. However, my philly was very tasty, my son and husband agreed (my 10 y.o. daughter didn't like any of her kid's meal, though). The food was well-prepared and served quickly. If you are ever get a hankering for tasty, overpriced food served by surly staff, this is the place to go. read more

Surprisingly good and affordable for a fast(ish) food joint.

Since I'm new international student and just been there for weeks. It's hard to say more since I'd just tried American food for 1 or 2 times. The steak was very good. You should try it on Wednesday or Sunday, the meal only 9.99$ with a huge top sirloin and fries. The salad also yum. I will try it again! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! The food was WAY overpriced and awful!!! The meat on the gyro was disgusting in both taste and appearance. It looked a pale grey color and slimy. Then there was this "potato mash" side dish that looked like someone vomited on top of rice. I immediately lost my appetite after looking at this food. ZERO STARS! -- I got a gyro at the 13th St location and broke a tooth on a piece of bone or a rock -- something hard enough to crack a molar and cost me over $1,000. Called to tell them out of decency -- thought they should know about it -- no intention to sue or seek any kind of damages and the guy who took my call was absolutely and totally rude! Sounded like an old guy with a very thick Greek accent. Now I DO want to sue them. I think maybe I'm not the only one this happened to -- he thought I had called before but I had not. btw, It was Monday Sept. 10th that this happened to me. I ordered a gyro salad to go at the 72nd street location and was very disappointed. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes (behind nobody) before anybody came up to take my order. After order, the salad was ready quite quickly, which was a positive. The salad itself was not worth the cost, over $10. The meat was okay, and the pita bread decent, but the actual lettuce in the salad was already droopy, and looked as if it had come out of somebodies refrigerator after having sat there for two weeks. I have no plans to revisit them any time in the near future. The service and food quality don't come close to the price of the food! read more

I do like their burgers and gyros, but there are so many gray areas that simply can not be overlooked. Quality control is nonexistent here. Sometimes your food is hot and fresh, other times it leaves much to be desired. French fries range anywhere from perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning to oversalted mushy crap. I like my burger fresh off the grill with a little char on it, you'll get that here about 25% of the time. Other times they will just pull a precooked patty out of some container where it has been sitting in fat - disgusting. You get plenty of food, not too much to handle but be sure to bring an appetite. Employees are always rude no matter what, so don't even think about customizing an order because they will invariably and purposefully get it wrong. The last thing I must complain about is price. I think the owners might be confused about the location, the prices seem like you are at an airport or ball game. Sorry, but this is the suburbs, and the value is just not there considering the quality of food. read more

I went there last night and wanted something semi-healthy. I ordered their grilled chicken salad through the drive thru, which I have gotten before. I asked for dressing on the side because I have learned that they will drench the salad if you don't ask for it on the side. I got it home and it didn't look like any one I ad seen before. The chicken was a greyish/brownish color and it was semi-shredded. In the past it had always been a grilled chicken breast cut into strips. I also received no dressing. After I couldn't clearly identify the meat substance on the salad, I picked it off and ate the bland lettuce, soft tomatos and a few bits of feta and olives that I had just paid $8.99 for....I don't think I will try this again. read more

Worst food I've ever had and the customer service was even worse. I went through the drive thru I wasn't allowed to finish my order. So when I get to the window I ask if I can order a drink the girl rolls her eyes at me slams the window shut, I still wanted fries. First, the woman at the counter had the personality of a piece of wood. No "Hello", no "Thank you", no smile, not even an "F--- off." The hamburger (even though I ordered a cheeseburger) was on a squished bun, both top and bottom. I pulled out about 10 hard pieces of something. The toppings were fresh. The "Top Sirloin" my mother ordered was the most disgusting piece of "steak" I've ever seen. It was ordered Well Done and was amazingly finished in about two minutes. Hmmm. It was LOADED with fat and gristle and took a lot of effort just to cut into it. The booth we sat at was loose and wobbled horribly when she tried to cut the leather. The "rice with potatoes and green beans" was correct. There was rice, potatoes, some kind of sauce, and two halves of a green bean. It looked very unappetizing and was not eaten. Half a star really.... Sad we paid over $30 for a meal that was significantly filling for 2 people but totally flavorless and WAY overpriced. Do NOT get the gyros if you have ever had a decent gyro. (I.E. Greek Islands.) You will be VERY disappointed. Service couldn't have cared less & sudziki sauce tasted like sweetened yogurt.....no hint of spice. What comes as a surprise is that the sauce on their gyro's is nothing more than sour cream. It is a generous sized sandwich, but do something to flavor the sauce. The one time I had a hamburger, it looked great, but was a bit on the dry side. I have yet to get an order of French fries with lite or no salt as requested. I will say though that if you go there and there is a heaping fresh pan of lettuce salad, order the greek salad with gyro meat...it is their best offering and enough for 2 people if you wanted to share. . And what is with the cash only deal? They do have an ATM that they own that you can use your debit card in, but then you add another 2 dollars to an already pricey dining experience. The counter help doesn't always appear to understand what you are saying, so it is a crap shoot as to the accuracy of your order. Maybe 11-12 dollar meals at fast food joints is becoming the norm, but it is no bargain here. My Wife and I stopped in for a quick bite last night before the Concert at the Ralston arena. We hadn't been there in a few years, But I remember the food was pretty good. Last night however the meat seemed like something we had in the high school cafeteria, it was HORRIBLE! We took a few bites and threw it away, I so wanted to go to the counter and demand my money back ( $20 ) For two HORRIBLE burgers, But we were running late for the concert and I was so angry I felt it was just better that I leave and NEVER return! I also noticed almost every Employee there was Chinese speaking very broken English anyway. Where are the Greek People? While at the concert we both started to feel as though we needed to eat something else just to get that horrible taste out of our mouths, anything like Dirt, rocks, acid. Anyway, I felt it important to warn others this place has not just gone down hill, but I think it is on life support and someone should pull the plug! read more

I went to the drive thru tonight and ordered one gyro. I had been looking forward to a gyro all day. I got home and found out that it was a sandwich of some kind and I called the restaurant right away and asked to speak to the manager. I told him that I had received the wrong order and he proceeded to drill me on what it was that I received. After he had me mention every ingredient, I told him that it wasn't on a pita, it was on something like a hot dog bun. He proceeded to yell at me for some reason and told me that I had gone to the wrong place and that they do not sell hot dogs. I tried to tell him that it was not a hot dog, that I was simply trying to describe the type of bread. I know I was at the correct place as there is a giant King Kong on the top of the building. I don't think I could miss that! LOL I asked to speak to someone who spoke English better and he laughed at me. I could not take the sandwich back as I had borrowed a car to go there. Besides, he said he would not give me a new one since I was lying to him. After all, they don't sell hot dogs! Another family member called him back and he hung up on her twice and said that we were just lying and he would not put up with our Bull Sh__. He told me that if I called again, he would call the police. I have NEVER encountered a manager like this in my life. DO NOT go to this restaurant. read more

Tonight we went through the drive through. The food was great and there was a ton of it...the downfall though is the hideous customer service. The guy at the window told us the total, so I asked him to repeat himself as I was having a hard time understanding. My passenger and my self both heard him say $32.51, so we gave him exact change. He then yelled at me and told me he said $33.51, so I apologized and gave him another dollar only to watch him set it in a jar next to the register and put the rest in the drawer. He never came back to the window for me to ask him about it and another guy handed us the food which was cold when we made it home (less than 10mins). My suggestion to King Kong is to hire some individuals who make your customers want to come back because you've just lost my ten years of business in addition to removing you from my offices lunch list. (My passenger and I work in a fraud department of 30 individuals-we will not promote fraudulent behaviors. What your employees are doing is a form of tax evasion and is highly frowned upon.
