GRUNT SNORT WHEEZE
Kristyn M.

Saturday afternoon. Visiting from out of town in Jan of 21. Still covid times but this place was quiet. The waitress/bartender was great. Helped us with everything we requested. I ordered the Grunt, snort, wheeze burger. With house cooked chips. I really liked it. Burger, egg, jalapeño, and brisket. Had a great taste overall. I didn't want to share the half with the hubby. He had the Saturday special. Smothered tenderloin. I got a couple bites but wasn't too into it. The burgers are the way to go.

Swamp Donkey

Laid back restaurant, welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I stopped here after an interview. I had the Nachos and my husband had the swamp donkey. Both were amazing. The wait staff were friendly and inviting. Will visit again!!

Very cool place to see. Lots of hunting decor that was very impressive to look at and see. Nice selection of beer on tap plus cans. I had the special on Saturday of tenderloin with mash patatoes and beef gravy. I gave it 4 stars based off the food only as it was good but it didnt make me want to brag about it.

French Dip with TatorTots

I stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good the meal was. I had the special of a French dip sandwich with tater tots as my side. Highly recommend them. Service was great and didn't take long to get the food.

A half eaten Mini Moose burger and coleslaw.

At first, my family did not want to go due to the fact they could not get past the name, but we finally went, and no one regretted it! I love the food here! This place produces a great vibe, and the survive is great! Very kind staff!

Just not as good as it once was. Last time we ate there. The food was a very poor quality. Don't think we'll be going back again.

I called and they told me their options which is great when they know. Everyone was very informative and friendly. I was able to get some modified oatmeal and home fries, which were great. Every single person finished their meal and seemed very happy. Some got the special, some got salad, omelets and everyone was pleased. The decor was entertaining for my little one and he loved how everyone's coffee mug was different. His grandpa had Mario and Luigi. Perfect little diner for family and friends. Would come back next time we are in town! I am eating 4 only due to limited options but was a 4.5 for everyone else at the table!!

I had one of the items from the lighter menu and it was still a lot of food. My hash browns were nice and crispy and eggs cooked to a perfect over medium. Pancakes were delicious too. The service was great and the servers were very attentive. My 5 year ols son asked why they kept asking if we wanted coffee every couple of mins. Lol. Def will stop here again if we ever find ourselves in Glenwood.

DO NOT GO SAVE YOUR MONEY RUDE SERVERS AND YOU GET IGNORED OUTSIDE!!…read moreSat outside and found out that you have to go INSIDE to order (NO signs to tell you that). Once food was ordered, a server NEVER came out to the table. Waited 30 minutes BEFORE going in to find out that our order was NOT sent back to thekitchen. It took 15 minutes to get the potato appitizer. And when confronted, the server was snarky and blamed us for not knowing our order was not submitted. The server thought he shouldn't have to tell us anything. Just save yourself a drive and time. It's just not worth the experience. Unless you're into people treating you like you're a problem.

For those who are just want to get down there and eat without the bike ride. It is still about a good 20 minute drive south of Council Bluffs off of route 29. Street parking is available. Named for a beloved pet, pets are allowed in the outdoor seating area. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining area. The hours are now limited: lunch 11-1:30, they now close for the afternoon and then reopens-about 5 PM for dinner. Check hours as they are prone to seasonal fluctuations. They are now also closed on Mondays. This is a very casual, old fashion diner type experience with a full bar. They occasionally have live music in the outside patio area. This destination has been there for decades and not only attract bike trail enthusiasts, but steel horse riders as well! Service is always super pleasant and helpful, and also very casual. Grab your menu, order at the counter, and it's brought out to where you're seated. If you need refills, bring it up to the bar and they'll take care of you. There is a more limited lunch menu and a larger menu for the dinner hours. They have an awesome tenderloin sandwich, and we just love their appetizers that will give you your fried food fix, including the garlic mushrooms, cauliflower, and really great onion rings. Also a recommended location to get your fix for a Barburger, with any combination of toppings, you desire! Want to get out of downtown and look at some pretty farm fields, check out Tobey Jack's for a very laid-back casual time with great food.

My wife and I both ordered the Everett's #2 with pulled chicken, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Everything just worked together perfectly. The chicken was tender, the slaw added the right crunch, and the bun tied it all together. It was one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you just look at each other and know you made the right choice. We also ordered the Saucy Rossy wings and they were the perfect heat level for both of us. Not so mild that they're boring and not so hot that you're suffering. Pro tip: get them fried and grilled. The extra texture and flavor are absolutely worth it. My wife is a total Brussels sprouts snob and she was absolutely in love with theirs. The funny part is that I'm usually not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but I kept asking for more off her plate. That alone should tell you how good they were. The fries were okay. Nothing that stole the show, but nothing to complain about either. The service wasn't the best during our visit, but they also had a 30-person table they were dealing with, so it was completely understandable. Even with that, the food was so good that it's already a top 3 meal for my wife. We'll definitely be thinking about those sandwiches, wings, and Brussels sprouts until we're back, and I don't think that'll take very long.
