It's soft and fresh. It complements the contents. I tend to get the grunt snort with jalapeños and other goodies. It's always good. Service is quick, although I've always done takeout. The restaurants are.clean and in the centers of town (Glenwood and Red Oak). I recommend giving them a shot. I really like their food. 4.5 stars. read more

Saturday afternoon. Visiting from out of town in Jan of 21. Still covid times but this place was quiet. The waitress/bartender was great. Helped us with everything we requested. I ordered the Grunt, snort,wheeze burger. With house cooked chips. I really liked it. Burger, egg, jalapeño, and brisket. Had a great taste overall. I didn't want to share the half with the hubby. Very cool place to see. Lots of hunting decor that was very impressive to look at and see. Nice selection of beer on tap plus cans. If you like waiting on yourself, this is typical hamburger shop. Food is not consistent, or the service. Loud sports bar atmosphere with sports blaring on several large screens. Not my favorite. I stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good the meal was. I had the special of a French dip sandwich with tater tots as my side. Highly recommend them. Service was great and didn't take long to get the food. read more

Had the chicken cordon blue which the wife loved(full half chicken breast with light breading, ham, cheese, held the mayo), swamp donkey burger (patty, brisket, 2 onion rings, sauce), mac&cheese and potato salad. Potato salad was creamy white dressing variety instead of mustard base, mac&cheese as expected and good for my toddler meal. Great burger and chicken cordon blue, good on potato salad and mac&cheese. My son and I decided to try them for lunch. neither of us like to make a scene so we didn't say anything while we were there. but they screwed up both of our orders, even giving my son the wrong burger. I really hate to ruin all of these good reviews and I wasn't going to yelp review it but our service was so bad on Saturday that it needs one. The place wasn't that busy Saturday afternoon, maybe the equivalent to 2 other tables and 2 people at the bar. We were never waited on for drink service. I had to get up out of my seat, walk to the bar and order our drinks from the bar. Then I also had to order food through the bartender. Before our food came out, the bartender apparently left and another gal took over. She brought us the food but we had to request plates and silverware. The cheese on our nachos was cold. Portion size was small for the price. Nobody checked on us again. When we were finished I had to pay through the order line. In fact on my bar runs I learned that going straight to the order line will prompt service somehow so that was the place to be. So I guess a good tip for future patrons is that it seems treated as a Cafeteria type system. If you are looking for good TVs this isn't the place either. Not that many TVs and the two next to us weren't working correctly-both screens are damaged. Finally, after I finished paying in the order area I overhead the two people at the bar who ordered their meals before us that it had been over a 2 hour wait for them. I know this to be true because I recall exactly the time they ordered the food and then I also witnessed their food being delivered in front of them exactly at the time we began our exit. I'm so glad this restaurant has picked Glenwood to open a store! I had their signature burger The Swamp Donkey! Get it! But it's not for the faint of heart. It's a huge cheeseburger loaded w/ smoked , tender brisket & not heavy on the BBQ sauce. And a toasted bun.....BAM....got it right! All the BBQ was delicious. We tried brisket, pulled pork and ribs. All were excellent. Baked beans were fantastic. The reason the prices were so reasonable is because they don't have to pay so much labor. All the orders are placed at the bar, and the bartender types them into an iPad that sends them to the kitchen. You get your own drinks, silverware & napkins and take them to your table yourself.
