Driving home from work I hit a patch of pot-holes, and heard a loud clanking sound, followed by my car resembling a helicopter. After doing a quick internet search for local muffler repair shops, I compared several on Yelp, and chose to go with King Muffler. My decision was rewarded with one of the best automotive repair decisions I've ever made. Another customer was backing out as I pulled up; quickly guided into the stale, in less than a minute my car was up on the lift. I was instantly impressed at how organized and clean the shop is, everything was either stacked neatly, or lined up for easy access. After doing a fast diagnostic of the issue, negotiating options and cost, the work itself took around half an hour. A new dual exhaust muffler, a pipe attachment and cost of labor, all came to $220. My car instantly drove and sounded better. I'm very pleased with King Muffler, and will return in the future. Please take note, that the shop has moved from its previous location. So, I went to King Muffler last week to install my Borla exhaust to my Subaru Crosstrek. Unfortunately it wasn't an easy install because I have a hitch where the new exhaust sits. This little hole in the wall shop is a gem. Get there early and remember it is CASH ONLY and you will get a receipt. After a 15 min car ride on a Wednesday morning I arrived. my car on the lift in less than 2 min. He saw the flex pipe the culprit, 2 cuts, 2 welds and 15 minutes later I was on my way. $80. The other day I ostensibly believed that I had seriously damaged the exhaust system to my 1995 Volvo 850 judging from the loud cacophonous roaring sound the car was emitting. An acquaintance of mine who I conferred with on the issue of where to get it repaired immediately and without hesitation referred me to Jose of King Muffler extolling the virtues of that business. Suffice it to say I took my vehicle there and was not disappointed. I have a mechanic but I normally want to go to a chain like Sears, Monro or Goodyear when I want something like tires or a muffler. I want this because of the warranty and because of the possibility of finding a franchise out on the road if I have an issue with the work. I also want this because the managers and mechanics have, I feel, more accountability at the chain places. I needed some exhaust work on a Honda Civic but there were no muffler chains anywhere near me so I took a chance on King Muffler based on several good reviews on Google. I was not disappointed. He was friendly, communicative, fast and cheap. He replaced all the pipe under my car, which was rusted after a few hard winters, for $180 cash (which he clearly prefers). He is definitely an exhaust specialist. He had a vintage MG on the rack when I got there and he bends and fashions his own pipes if need be. I only had it done today so time will tell if it lasts. Moreover, there was no receipt or warranty - he just said to come back if I had any problems. The experience was good enough that I'm not worried that he'll take care of me if any problems arise. read more

Very professional service and very reasonable. Jose did an excellent job for 1/3 of what other shops gave estimates for. I had to change the catalytic converter, pipes, and muffler on my 97 Acura CL. He replaced everything for a little over $300 and done in about an hour. He replaced everything with new pipes and parts and did an excellent welding job. read more

I originally go to Great Bear located in Flushing and they told me that I needed a new flexi pipe and they gave me a estimate of $680 + 185 for Transmission flush + 60 for oil change! which sounded crazy to me. and with some extra charges it came upto $920 in total! I decided to sleep on it and for referral from a kind person to try King Muffler! I'm so grateful that I went to Jose! He took less than 30 minute and the price for the flexi pipe was so cheap that was unbelievable! It was $600 less than GREAT BEAR told me! Had an exhaust leak from a broken flange on my 1995 Buick Roadmaster. Jose welded a new pipe in to replace the broken flange for $45 and fixed the problem. He was very nice and explained everything before he did it. He said to come back if there is ever any problem with the work. I highly recommend him. Read all of the positive reviews and didn't want to chance another garage, so even though it was an hour away I called and arrived at Jose's. There were two cars before me and even though there was a car waiting at the door which I thought he might take before me he said, no, that I was next and to go get my car. I wish I could post videos of how bad my broken flex part of pipe was sounding compared to how it sounds afterwards. Jose is a true professional. I first took my '04 Touareg to another shop recommended by a friend and I was quoted slightly more than Jose but what made me go with Jose was that he went the extra mile to look at the problem he put my vehicle on the lift to see underneath rather than just going by instinct. Aside from the way he explained to me the issue/problem which made me feel much more assured about what he was talking about and obviously knows how to do fantastic work. For as long as King Muffler is in business they will receive all recommendations from family and friends to see him when it comes to welding or any exhaust issues. And he has gained a lifetime customer for as long as he's in business for my current and any of my future vehicles I plan on purchasing. The flex pipe on my car broke. The place I normally take my car to be repaired was going to charge me 600 dollars because they planned to replace the flex pipe and catalytic converter. Please, I don't think my car is worth 600 dollars. Saw the reviews for King Muffler on Yelp and decided to give them a try. After finally finding the place ( which was not easy) the guy quoted me a price of 80 bucks to replace the flex pipe. He was finished in about 45 minutes and my car was as good as. ....... welll as good as a 17 year old Sonata can be. read more
