Easy parking in the area. Nice and easy to place order online or over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate my request to sub the pita and rice out for extra yogurt and hummus. Turned my kefta plate into a nice low carb salad. Staff was welcoming and greeted me when I walked in. Had my food ready in 15 mins. Will def be back! read more

The people here are kind and the food is reasonably priced...but it doesn't taste that great and it invariably does not look like the photos they use to advertise (missing ingredients, portions sizes off, etc.). I've been here a few times over the years and have no desire to go back because the food has always been disappointing. read more

I had the opportunity to try King of Kabab on a recent trip to Emeryville and am so glad I stumbled upon this gem. I ordered the Chicken Kebab salad and a side order of their hummus. First off, I didn't realize hummus was included in my salad but I'm not complaining. The dressing that was on the salad added a really refreshing taste when you mix it along with the greens and hummus. The hummus is something you have got to try. It is better than any other hummus I've tried. I love that you can clearly see the EVOO drizzled on top of the hummus. I swear when you try this hummus you will stop buying store bought hummus. The chicken kabab was very flavorful too - well seasoned, tender and juicy and were pretty good sized chicken pieces. Overall the portions are pretty sizable for the price listed and honestly it's worth it. I can't wait to try other items on their menu too. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at King of Kabab- it's right across from the gym my roommates and I go to, and not at all garish. We already have a go-to spot for Mediterranean food in the area, but decided why not try the new spot right across? My partner and I went to get an order around 8:45 pm- and while they close at 9 pm, the owner/cook(?) said we'd be his last customers for the evening. We ordered a chicken shawarma plate which came out to be around $13 and some cents total, and the plate came with rice, housemade hummus, some salad, and a pita bread. They ask if you want hot sauce on the meal, or on the side. The shawarma is so so flavorful, but what stood out to me was the rice that was underneath! It was buttery and just really tasty- I'd order a side of just the rice honestly. They also serve baklava and drinks, but those weren't listed on the menus on the monitor screens. I had got off work and was craving mediterranean food. I found this place only 9 minutes from me. The rice is flavorful! I have never been to a Mediterranean restaurant with such exquisitely delicious rice! I'm used to seeing plain rice but this is a great spot I found today. The falafel here is soooo good. It's probably one of my favorites. I could just eat falafel with hummus for my entire meal. Of course I also get a wrap, which is delicious. But the falafel and hummus -- that's where it's at. FYI - this is more of a grab and go place. There's a small table or two, but it's not really set up to be a sit down restaurant. read more

Was across the street at a medical appointment and saw King of Kabob through the window. It was lunch time and I was hungry. I ordered through DoorDash (but should have called directly for better pricing. The owner was fun to watch as he cooked, took phone orders and waited on customers at the counter. Menu is divided into plates, salads and wraps. You can get lamb or chicken kababs, schwarma, mezze, Greek salads, and even a cheesesteak. My lamb and beef gyro was pretty okay. For $10.99 it came with a surprisingly tasty side salad. And they threw in a hot tea. Three tables inside. Two outside. Not much in the way of atmosphere. It's fast food. But I did enjoy the Middle Eastern music. read more

Working around the area and deciding on lunch is always hard, lol. With so many options that berkeley has to offer, this place was amazing. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma wrap with extra hummus and the half dozen falafel balls. The chicken was tender with bursting flavors, the hummus was so delicious. The cucumber salad topped the wrap off and the extra hummus on the side was perfect to dip the falafel balls. THE FALAFEL BALLS! Crispy on the outside to perfection and inside was moist and cooked perfectly! not dry or over cooked. Everything was so delicious, worth the $30! I've been having a huge huge craving for a falafel wrap and wanted to try out a new place. I've passed this particular establishment a million times and always say I'm going to try them and today was the day. My fiancee and I stopped by yesterday afternoon to grab lunch since we were in the area and I ordered a lamb and beef gyro platter while she ordered the chicken platter to-go. The guy behind the counter was really nice, and within 10 minutes of placing our order, our food was ready to go -- very fast! The lamb and beef were incredible juicy without tasting too oily, and the pita bread was light and fluffy. The chicken wasn't quite as juicy, but I still really liked the flavor of the chicken. I would definitely stop by again if I'm around the area. read more

This place is no secret. Locals have been coming for years as the service and quality are unparalleled. The fresh food made with care and artistry makes King of Kabab a must visit when in the Bay Area. By virtue of the many satisfied customers daily, high turn over of the fresh produce and proteins are amazing. I have been eating here about twice a week for over a year and still find exciting choices on the menu with wide array of deserts to boot. Their prices are so low KoK is able to do high volume, making the food with great planning and love. They even swap out the fryer oil many times a week. After eating their tasty food you feel great and not heavy like some establishments. Take someone you care about here and they too will be impressed. read more

So good! Wow. How did I not know about this place until now?!?! The food is fresh and full of flavor. Like damn, best falafel I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, soft, moist, and seasoned to perfection on the inside. We got the lamb and beef gyro, mixed grill, mezza plate, and fries. The babaganoush in the mezza plate was so smoky and rich. The lamb kefta was spiced just right. The gyro was tender, seasoned well, with just the right amount of crunchy crispy bits. Everything was bomb. You might be thinking "fries at a Mediterranean restaurant. Why?" They're hella good lol. The folks who run this place are awesome. King of Kebab catered my baby shower. They don't have a separate catering menu so you'll need to guesstimate how much to order. We ended up over ordering, but I can't complain. The food was so tasty. Falafels after transport aren't going to hold up as well, but they were still really good. The Baba ghanoush, hummus, and the tzatziki were excellent. They gave us plenty of sauces. And the malt syrup was poured with a liberal hand -- there is no subtlety to the flavor. To their credit, the cream cheese is well paired. It brings its own flavor with a noticeable tang, and it is dense. You need a bagel that will hold up under the pressure of a knife while spreading the thick schmear. I love that Saul's is making bagels in house now, but I think I will look elsewhere on their menu for the real comfort foods.

I came from the gym across from King of Kabab about two weeks ago and I saw two of my neighbors eating at King of Kabab, I went inside and spoke with the neighbors and they were raving about how good the food was , so I tried the food and the food was superb . I've eaten there almost every day since and I've seen seven of my neighbors eating there at one time or the other. Super delicious. The guy who owns this place, and the other staff are super nice. You can taste that they make everything from scratch and put love into the food. Everything I have had is super delicious. I really like the chicken and lamb shwarma though. They do it right, with the traditional shwarma roasting pole thing (I don't know what it is called). Some of the best Mediterranean food that I have had in the SF bay area. Definately a spot you should try out. They have outdoor seating with a fence around it. read more

Came here on a trip with students and fellow teachers, it was so good! The owner accommodated all 11 of us. There is a super cute outdoor seating area. All of the meals were fresh and delicious. We were in and out of there with in 45 minutes. Quick and delicious lunch. Shawarma and hummus and falafel all so do good. read more
