I called to see what slices are available as I have food allergies and the guy on the phone refused in a really dismissive way to let me know what slices are available. I used to love going here three years ago. Slices were big and flavourful, for a good price. Then last night I got served a horrible Arraniata slice. Crunchy until you got to the edge of the crust, where it was way too doughy. It reminded me of some failed home pizza experiences. The jalapenos were dessicated, and so was the sauce. No flavour at all even the garlic oil didn't help. Absolutely zero heat. Service was friendly enough and the ambiance is good for a pizza joint. Even some outside seating. Cheese and toppings are in good amounts, tomato sauce was just average. Only downside is that the crust gets kind of dry and mealy. This business is in the main artery of Bloor west and seemingly very popular in the evening as my pizza took 45 minutes, which was well worth the wait. 60 minutes if you count the walk home which gave it time to cool off(it is served piping hot) you really can't go wrong with your pizza choice. I chose to get the Garlic oil on my crust and I truly recommend it, they have good paninis and if you stop in here for dinner there are multiple dessert options in the neighbourhood, and you are a short walk from high park. I have been coming to King Slice for many years now. Never s bad slice until recently. For whatever reason the stag that works the afternoon shift goes not appear to care about the quality of the product they put out. I still get a great slice during the day Stift. I ordered twice their Margherta slice in the afternoon and each time it was a great disappointment. Each time it was overcooked and dry.. it was like chewing a shoe sole. Vert disappointed. Awesome massive slices! Surprised I didn't discover this hidden gem sooner. My boyfriend said it was one of the best pizza he's ever had. We ordered the Arrabiata and Pepperoni which were both great especially with the garlic oil on the crust. Wish they had more flavours but I definitely want to come back to try the rest. Careful though, the oils will drip all over your fingers. Bring wet napkins if you can! The patio was also a nice place to enjoy and people watch. I ended up getting the ARRABIATTA Slice I hope I didn't get that wrong. It was very thin, crispy. Mine came right out of the oven so the only downfall was that the cheese kept falling off. they also brush on a herb and garlic Oil type of dressing on the crust OR all over the pizza If you ask! Overall the pizza was OK not sure if it was because of the kind of pizza I chose... The jalapeños did become a bit overpowering however my favourite part was the crust. Well I work close by and the first place one of my coworkers took me was here, all in all a cozy fresh made pizza experience. I love the sandwiches, Arrabiata/ Margherita slices and found the staff to be friendly. For those complaining about take away of a slice, get 2 and you can ask for a small box for it. After a few visits, I noticed that post lunch rush, many of the vegetarian pizzas are cooked on one half and the other half are meat. Twice over the course of 3 weeks, I have had pieces of pepperoni on a slice of Arrabiata and it's a shame because they do take pride in ingredients and having signature pizzas. The cheese didn't taste very fresh and was barely melted (I prefer the cheese on my pizza to have the kind of golden color that comes from a little extra time in the oven). I liked the crispy crust, but the toppings weren't integrated with/anchored to the crust -- it was sort of like eating a pizza made on one of those Boboli pizza shells from the supermarket, where the toppings just slide right off. The slice was gigantic, but it just wasn't very good. Because the slice is so large, it's served on two plates; however, their use of flimsy paper plates just makes things super messy. On the other hand, the Greek salad was impressive for a pizza joint: the lettuce was fresh, crisp, and hand-torn; the tomatoes were ripe; the feta was semi-soft and nicely briney. The shop is tiny, and is mostly for a skeptical but you could also eat in. I love the garlic oil they put on the crust too, and the toppings and cheese just melt (literally) in your mouth. The slices are big too (they cut them in half for you) and for around $5, that's a decent deal. I usually just get whatever slices are available. My Deluxe slice was HUGE (king sized even, lol) To be honest I was starved and I couldn't even finish it! The taste was good but nothing special. Believe the hype kids. King Slice makes the best slice of pizza I've ever had in Toronto. The slices here make a travesty of the pizza at most other pizza joints in the city - Cora, Papa Ceo, I'm talking to you. For $5 I picked up a giant slice of Arrabiatta that was perfect down to every last detail. First, the slice tasted as fresh as if it had come right out of the oven even though I went at a time when it wasn't busy. King Slice only has 5 different slice options and this seems to ensure freshness. The crust was awesome. Crispy and flaky on the outside but not crunchy or overdone. Moist on the inside. Not too thick, never doughy, and with great flavour. The sauce was well seasoned and there was a good amount of cheese. The toppings (jalapeno, garlic, and mushroom on the Arrabiata) were fresh and plentiful. I'd eat this pizza even if it was served out of a dirt floored shack with a rat infestation. But, King Slice actually has a nice atmosphere; certainly better than most pizza joints. The space is clean and nicely decorated and there's seating for about 30. Stumbled upon this place while walking along Bloor. It caught my attention when I saw how busy it was. All the seats were taken and there was a constant line up. Looking at the menu I soon realised that they only have a few items on it. Without any doubt, the big seller here are their pizza slices. I decided to try the pizza so me and my friend ordered the Deluxe and Arrabiatta to share. Slices are very big and always served fresh. They will also ask you if you want garlic oil brushed on the pizza crust. I can definitely recommend this - it's delicious! One slice is just under $5 and for the size you get it's a very good deal! Update: STILL NO RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT. I got a terrible justification from one of the employees when I last followed up by phone. His response was along the lines of we made over 300 pizzas that day and nobody else got sick. Terrible. This is about the principle and giving your customer a positive experience.
