    FRIED OYSTER PLATTER
    Jason R.

I was in the mood for oysters and stopped by for the first time on a Friday evening. I expected it to be busy and it was packed. I took a seat at the bar and waited for the server. It took some time and appeared that the two working bartenders were just overwhelmed so I was patient. When she came to me I put in. An order for the happy hour oysters and iced tea. The iced tea seemed to confuse her a bit but they located it. Friday night in Potomac is more of a martini and margaritas crowd. The oysters were at my seat within a couple of minutes and had a selection of little sauces and stuff. The oysters themselves were def happy hour quality. Anemic little things without much texture or flavor. Next I put in an order for the fried oyster platter. And waited. And waited. Finally I asked about my food and the bartender weren't to check on it after noting she put it in 30 minutes prior. She came back from the kitchen and apologized, and she told her coworkers that the kitchen was a mess and somebody there was 'angrier that I've ever seen him'. My food was out in less than 5 minutes. The fries and coleslaw were perfect and these oysters were fat little sucker's that were perfectly done. Aside from that the one issue I had was the noise. The main roon has high ceilings with a hard floor so when it's busy the noise and reverb is a lot. If you have sensory issues. This may be a consideration.

This place has one of the best happy hours in mo co! It's on the early side (4-6) but they have a variety of drink and food specials that can't be beat! The shrimp bites were a highlight- crispy and delicious! And the chicken salad was good as well. We had good service but I actually prefer to sit at the bar which is really fun! Will definitely be back!

When I lived closer this was a regular go to spot for happy hour. I usually sit at the bar and the service is always good. This time was no different. I got the crab cake sliders, some oysters and the shrimp Po boy. Everything was great. Didn't get a picture of the crab cake sliders.

Which a cute little spot in park Potomac!! Parking is a little odd and fills up fast with garages underground. King street has great happy hour! They have a variety of foods on the menu oysters, seafood, modern American. Their cocktails are great and service is always fast. My favorite app was their burrata cheese and the calamari. The bathrooms are clean and they have a spacious inviting patio out back! I definitely recommend king street oyster bar!

Can't beat the happy hour oysters - $1.25 each. Fried oysters sliders are ok. Service was fast on a Sunday evening. Ok for small group dining.

We had the crabcake and salmon sliders that had a smokey flavor that were very delicious. The tempura sprimp was good but didnt have as much crunch as I would have liked. But it was very flavored. Now, for the lobster roll, it was not all that flavorful and it was not buttered that much on the inside and non on the outside of the bread (3 stars). The happy hour King Street Collins and the Bee's Knees were very good. The waiter was nice but not very inattentive to the details of our order

food | delicious * usually get oysters here. went off course and enjoyed the CRAB AND CORN CHOWDER, CHOP SALAD, TUNA TACOS APP, LOBSTER ROLL (cold), and BREAD PUDDING. all delicious. LOBSTER ROLL looked pretty meaty with little to no filler nonsense. ---------- service | you're in greats hands when you walk in and see SHERMAN, JOEY, and JON * SHERMAN!!! love SHERMAN! beyond excited when i see her. best person, personality, realness, service is obviously above and beyond with her. * JOEY is amazing! (as always, especially with his shirt game). * JON is another wonderful great time. ---------- ambiance | consistent * love the sports on the many mounted TVs so it's good for sports seasons. * don't usually have to yell to have a convo--that's a solid pro. * fantastic caring friendly staff who become friends. thank you, SHERMAN, JOEY, and JON for always being your genuine sweet selves. you making leaving the house worth it.

This is such a great happy hour place in the Rockville/Potomac area. Really good happy hour menu. The star for happy hour is the $1 oysters, the Chophouse burger and the wings. It's great you don't have to sit in the bar for this. We recently came to celebrate a birthday, and to my surprise the dinner entrees we ordered were really good. This place is quite empty after happy hour is over which is a shame. They are missing out on all the other dishes not on the happy hour menu such as their Grilled Sea scallops, served with pasta, lobster and mushrooms and their lobster roll and seafood pasta. We will be back for dinner and happy hours!

I come here often for happy hour because you really can't beat the prices or the fact that it happens seven days a week. Payton is the best waiter and is very personable as well as efficient. One of my favorites on the happy hour menu are the Jax Mussels and I never was a big mussels fan previously but wow this place has converted me, so much so that I had to write a review! And for only $9 I feel like i can't beat it. The bread it comes with to sop up the liquid is chefs kiss!! Just writing this review makes me want to go here TODAY for those mussels. Other things I had were crab cake sliders, fried green tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, wings and the house punch. I'm not a big clear liquor fan but this drink is what dreams are made of! I'll definitely be back again and again.

Found this place on Yelp and had to check it out, known for the best oysters. The service here is great you're seated as soon as you walk in. There is also outdoor seating, bring the entire family and enjoy. I had the bruschetta as a starter and it was delicious, the bread was super crispy just the way I love it. Also ordered the Best oysters I had around this area. The crab and corn chowder was super delicious. Bring the family and friends and enjoy watching sports, celebrating birthday and all events. This place is big enough for large parties. See you soon!! I'll be back to taste the rest of the menu.

I went with couple of friends on a Saturday evening for some fresh oyster. This place is great for seafood lover and should visit if you are in Potomac area. The place was packed and glad we had a reservation. We ordered some oysters steak and fish dish that I can't remember the name. All of them were pretty good. Fries were amazing. Their service was super great. Our server was always checking in on us. If you are looking for a casual place to dine, this would be a good one.

Ask the Community - King Street Oyster Bar

Can they handle a party of 10 to 15 people well on a Sat. night?

Yes they have plenty of seating inside and outside, just make sure you have a reservation.

    How is the lobster roll?

It's amazing! And they can prepare it either warm or cold. I chose cold.

Are the happy hour food and drinks choices available only at the bar or can they be ordered from the main dining areas?

The happy hour prices are available throughout the restaurant

Does this place has private parking or roadside parking?

    There's both.

    Is this place pet friendly?

    Yes. Outside only.

    Do they take reservations?

Yes, through "Wait List". So not necessarily a set time but call ahead seating, in theory.

Does anyone know what the happy hour food choices and prices are?

$1 oysters for sure. Discounted beer. Lots of food choices, likely smaller portions of their main dishes. If I were you, I'd try it out. Looks like a good deal to me.

As a bonus there was a pickle bar of half sour, full sour pickles, cornichons, sauerkraut and pickled peppers. Favorites were the half sour pickles and sauerkraut (went well with the wrap). Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!

This is the classic cold cut sandwich with 3 types of Vietnamese cuts (ham, head cheese, pork roll) and pate. I opted for all the ingredients plus extra jalapeños. It was delicious! My sandwich was loaded with pate and came with a good layer of meats. The bread is the closest to an actual Saigon style banh mi I have had in this area. It has a crisp shell but is softer in the center so it doesn't cut up the roof of your mouth when you bite down on it. I also like a sprinkle salt & pepper on top of my banh mi veggies so I just added it when I got home. They offer a sandwich and soup combo that I'd like to try next time with a lot of other items.
