Seoul Spice is all gluten free. That is a huge deal for someone with serious gluten allergies. My granddaughter loved her pork bowl with vegetables and rice. For a dining experience...in a mall, you cannot go wrong with SeoulSpice. My rice bowl was about 13 bucks, and I thought the portions were very generous. To be frank, the pricing is pretty good compared to other businesses in that food court. The bowl is enough for two small meals or one big meal if you are REALLY hungry. For a "general" bowl, you pick a base (the base can be split between two items), a protein, and as many toppings and sauces as you would like. I made my own bowl with a purple rice/green bases and beef. I forget all of the toppings that I added to the bowl. For the price, I thought the bowl was very delicious, especially for a mall's food court setting. Also, the quality of the food was decent. The woman who was working behind the counter was very nice and professional. If I could order all three, I would - none of them ever let me down. I am only disappointed because I love these bases and always want more in my bowl. That being said, the bowl is a very hearty portion and meal for a normal human being. I just eat it so fast because I love it, that I feel I want more. I don't need more, I always just want more. It's better that I don't get more though! Their tofu is very tasty, but I prefer just veggies. Which ones? I had started a 2024 photo series in late August, but I realized I never completed it. To represent August will be Seoul Spice. Prior to August 2024, I had gone to Seoul Spice in Montgomery Mall food court a few times. I feel it's one of the better choices in the food court. The bowls are delicious, an assembly line like Bibibop, CAVA (which has a location in the mall too), or Chipotle (which is also in mall, but never get because I live near a Chipotle). I normally get the beef bulgogi, but they have chicken & other options. The base is various rice, salad, etc. There are few other toppings to select from like corn, cucumber, etc. Then, you get a sauce, creamy sriracha is good. Staff is cordial. On Friday, August 16, 2024, I picked up my girlfriend as we were going to a comedy show close to Montgomery Mall and had a movie night at a friend's place close to here too. We were discussing options, and I said if I don't think of anything, we will just get food in the mall. We saw there was a Peruvian chicken place in the mall, but when we walked over there, it was a full service restaurant. We didn't have all that much time, and any Peruvian chicken I've gotten has just been counter service; so that was off-putting. I said to my g/f Seoul Spice is pretty good, and we both enjoyed our food. But my big compliant is that the portions aren't very much. Granted, we ate dinner slightly on the earlier side at 5:45, but we were kinda hungry again around 9, which was annoying. We ate snacks at the movie night we were at. You go to CAVA, Chipotle, & other places, it's a good amount and not hungry for a while. Other than that, the bowl is delicious & staff is nice, so it warrants a 4-star here. read more

Make sure that if you need gluten free food to ask for it , so that they can see if they can take care of you. The gluten free chocolate chip cookies are awesome. Just finished a delicious bowl at SeoulSpice. I come here for lunch or dinner whenever I'm at the Mall. The bowls are terrific. Today I had a Classic with purple rice instead of white rice. The combination of ingredients, sauce and bulgogi really pops. One of my partners today made their own, and really enjoyed the vegis and tofu. The bowls are huge and very filling. It was tasty and fresh and the beef was especially flavorful and tender. The red sauce was supposed to be very hot and it was not to me. I met someone (a stranger) in line after striking up a conversation we sat and talked and ate. I was so engrossed in conversation that I forgot to take a picture of the food!!! After a morning of shopping at the Westfield mall, we decided to have lunch at SeoulSpice. Their menu is gluten-free, which suits my wife. They offer vegan options that suit me. You can build your own bowl or go with one of their signature bowls. I chose to create my own. I chose rice for the base. Tofu braised and caramelized in kalbi marinade. Kimchl for the vegetable. Korean hot sauce, which is Gochujang paste with the sweet umami of miso. I topped the bowl with crispy garlic and a spicy "fire powder." The rice was light and fluffy. The tofu was nicely marinated and had a slight smoky flavor from the braise. The kimchi was a perfect choice for the vegetable. It added a crunchy texture to the soft and a sour contrast to the bland. The Korean hot sauce took this dish to the next level of flavor. Not overly spicy, it complimented the kimchi perfectly. The crispy garlic and fire powder gave this dish a final flavor burst. This was one of the best build your own bowl experience I have had. read more

I started with the rice noodles as my base, beef bulgogi as my protein, and for veggies, I chose carrots, corn, cucumber, and green onion. I chose the carrot ginger sauce. Once my bowl was created and paid for, we found a place to sit, and it was time to dig in. My bowl was fresh and delicious. The carrot ginger sauce complimented it well, and I didn't think I would eat the whole thing, but before I knew it, the bowl was empty. Finally got a chance to try this place and it's great. The concept, the service, the freshness and the flavor. I had one of their preset combos, the Herbivore on purple rice (really is a thing). Tofu, Kim chee, veggies and a great sauce. Felt really nutritious. Wife had a noodle and beef bowl, loved it. And...the entire menu is gluten free! They put them in four plastic ramekins and when I was done the staff asked if I wanted her to throw them out. She inadvertently poured Sriracha sauce in my bowl instead of Cilantro which I asked for so she had to redo it. Food: -Bulgogi was tender and nicely marinated. -The egg (extra $1.99) was soft and perfectly marinated in a sweet-soy base. -Pickled radish was bland. -Japchae was bland and hard. My friend thought perhaps if it had been reheated it might have tasted better. It made up 75% of the bowl which I ended up throwing away. -Sauce: I would have preferred a soy or teriyaki sauce. It puzzles me that they don't provide a common staple. Final thoughts: I really regret that I went with the japchae. Had I gotten the rice I'm confident I would have enjoyed it more. Also, they ought to consider adding teriyaki sauce as one of the options. I prefer Bibibop over this restaurant. read more

For my visit, I got a salad base, spicy pork for protein, all the veggies (7 different ones), ginger carrot and Korean hot sauce on the side, scallions and cilantro for toppings. I also got an egg for an upcharge. The bowl was huge. It was full of flavors that I didn't need the sauces. However, both sauces that I got were so good that I dipped my fork in the sauces and picked up the food for each bite. Sooooo good. The people before me ordered the korrito - the ORIGINAL Korean-style burrito! It reminds me of sushi roll. Definitely would have to try that next time. read more

A new option in the food court at M Mall. It's almost identical to Bibibop at Pike and Rose. Same fast casual cafeteria style line. But no miso soup, but that's okay. What takes this place up a notch is the bulgogi marinade. Tastes like the ones you get at a korean restaurant. Lots of veggies to add like cucumbers, carrots, corn, bean sprouts, kale, kimchi, shredded radish, and make sure to add sesame oil to mix everything up. I didn't see any egg option, which I may have missed. They have four different sauces to top it off. Which leads me to this: the menu is kind of hard to read on the glass (maybe red lettering instead of white would help) and I think the food court speaker music is directly on top of this place, so it's hard to hear what the staff is asking/telling you. If they can add fried egg option and seaweed strips that would be a bonus. Choose from rice, salad, chopcahe (noodles) or even do this as a kimbop style as the base. We stopped by the mall for some returns just in time for lunch. Wanting to change it up, I did a lap to see if anything enticed me. I am so glad that I did! Not only was the employee very friendly and helpful, but when I asked for a sample of the pork, she gave me a sample of all the proteins . Never in my life have I tried and loved all the proteins available at a fast casual restaurant. I ended up getting the noodles with half chicken /half spicy pork and a few toppings. I really appreciate that everything is already seasoned and yet no matter the combo the flavors just work together. Plus you feel like you ate something healthy and fresh. We order here a lot, which may sound counterintuitive, given the 2-star rating. We love the food, with the MAJOR CAVEAT, that they actually provide the food that we order. Whether we order for delivery or pickup, we often find that they forget dressing for at least one meal of three. It's too exhausting (given the frequency) to address for a refund or any other compensation, so we usually just trash the meal and figure something else out. Much more frustrating to deal with when it's a picky toddler. Sometimes when we order for pickup the staff is just standing around talking or independently staring at their phones, and haven't even begun assembling our order. Spicy pork, how I missed you! I used to be a regular at the NOMA location pre-pandemic, but have not been back in over a year. When I had a chance to stop at their new Montgomery Mall location, I had to try it again. Purple rice with spicy pork and all the fixing, just delicious. The staff was very friendly and fast. Love this place every time I stop by Montgomery mall! The staff have always been friendly and happy every time, and it's always been solid. I usually get japchae, which is like this clear soft yet chewy flavored noodle, as base, with the bulgogi (marinated beef). I like to switch up my toppings, but kale is always good to add a bit of green, with the kimchi (legit!) and pickled radishes as my usual picks. For the sauce, I get the korean spicy sauce, which is pretty spicy, so sometimes I'll get half portion spicy sauce and half portion of the cilantro lime ranch to soften the spice. Always delicious! It came out to be like $13 or something but it also comes with the drink - try their yuzu drink! It's a bit like lemonade but slightly different. They have pictures on the glass so you can see better, but I wonder if they could add descriptions? I have no issues since I get korean food a lot, but for those that don't get it often, I think it might help people decide what is what lol read more
