We paid for a hotel room to be able to make the early morning flight, to be able to make the "mandatory orientation" in Salmon the night before the retreat. We paid for an additional "package" to cover all flights and hotels from Boise to Boise. After sitting in the Jet Port for 3 hours we were able to find out that the orientation is not mandatory for us. After reviewing all materials, it is clear there is conflicting information and lack of ability to talk to anyone in a timely manner. Can't comment on the actual rafting trip.

I joined this studio (mostly for Pilates) last week and have been to at least one class daily since…read morethen. The classes with Pilates reformer machines are $30, so if I go more than twice per week, I'm better off paying the $240/month membership fee. They have punch cards for other classes (15 for $225). Each instructor so far has been helpful. They know how to push our limits without causing pain. Two have given me their business cards for personal sessions or to get questions answered. Nice. Melissa and Kevin at the front desk are friendly. The women's bathroom has two toilets and two showers. Looks like their childcare center is fantastic. Parking usually isn't a problem. The main reason I waited so long to join was because I wanted afternoon classes--not morning or night--but I've been able to find enough classes for my schedule. After I downloaded their app and the MINDBODY app, I've been able to schedule and pay for classes online. Even at midnight. I needed to reschedule a class that had extra payment, so hopefully I won't get charged twice. I've been happy with this studio so far. It's ridiculously close to my home. I thinks it's ironic that it's next to a good hamburger/ice cream diner where my youngest daughter worked for several years. I wonder how many people work out then eat back all the calories they just burned. Ha. Or the other way around--people feel guilty for eating so much then they go to a fitness class. The other members seem to be from all different fitness levels, so it isn't awkward for this newbie who was out of shape.

It's cute and clean with large windows and natural bright lighting. There are storage caddies to place your personal belongings into; 8 reformers; water filter system; and grip socks/items for sell near another door entrance. The restroom is in the same building, but outside of the studio. You need the key to get inside of the restroom. Ask the instructor for the key. The instructor, Anna, was super helpful and nice. She made sure my movements and postures were correct, which is exactly what I needed for an effective workout. I felt energized and good after the workout, so I look forward to coming back again.

Loved my one-hour pilates class led by Candance!…read more The class started with a short warm-up, followed by exercises that targeted different body parts/muscle groups one at a time on a reformer machine. Candance considered everyone's input on what body parts to focus on working out for our session, gave helpful modification tips to each individual, and chose music that wasn't distracting. This Point Pilates location offers plenty of natural lighting and a very clean space. This was my favorite pilates class I've taken at any studio in SLC by far. I have some physical limitations and Candance was able to work with me. While staying safe, I felt challenged, and I learned that having a small class with an instructor who pays attention to each person is invaluable.

I have a recurring ankle injury from trail running that I've been (unsuccessfully) self-rehabbing, and I've learned so much from my first few weeks of classes about my own body and why I keep hurting myself, and I'm excited to see how the running goes this summer. With my limited experience with friends who did Pilates I was picturing a froofy, "trendy-fitness" type of experience, but this is not at all what this studio is about. The staff here is focused on body mechanics and balance, and I feel great every time I leave after a session. (Not to mention- they're right above Taqueria27- which is always great for a post-session round of tacos!)

I don't like going to gyms because I often fell judged by younger and more fit patrons and staff. I've found here that I feel welcomed and supported. the exercises can be really hard but I feel a payoff. I haven't been there long enough to see a lot of change but I'm starting to see some. I enjoy going there and I feel like I'm improving myself both in strength and mentally. Great choice for me !

It's already pricey at over $100 a week for an 8 week program that only gets you one nutrition session and one workout a week for a total of one hour. The first "nutritionist" I saw was a joke and recommended all the foods I had been telling him don't work for me to lose weight and clearly didn't have a true nutrition background and I lost no weight. A few weeks in they changed who I was seeing and I was never changed back. Turned out the first guy left and I was never notified. I like the second person who they placed me with a lot better, but as I was switched halfway through the program my new nutritionist/trainer never had any openings before 8 pm or that were convenient with my schedule. So I was paying $100 a week and not always being able to get in for appointments. For two of the appointments the wrong time was also communicated to me and I showed up and they weren't available. Ok one time, might have been my error, but twice definitely not as I've never had this problem with any other appointments. They then would say they'd reach out to reschedule and it would be days later before I heard something. I did call and talk to the owner and they credited me a few sessions from all of the back and forth and inconvenience, but one of those again had a time mixup. I finally just gave up trying to reschedule and cut my losses. Learn from my mistake and save your money and go somewhere else.

There is no doubt in my mind that macro and calorie counting works as long as you are disciplined and stick to a diet plan. THF sat us down and helped us outline a plan that worked best for us, including recipes. 2. The recipes are pretty tasty! (some trial and error required) 3. Flexible scheduling times. 4. Discount for paying upfront and purchasing multiple packages. 5. The provided binder was a wealth of information and a great place to compile and compare all of our stats and data. CONS 1. Their staff is inconsistent and very few of them have any actual qualifications. -The first "nutritionist" we worked with was the only one from the bunch that had any actual education on the matter. She was by far our favorite and the most helpful in terms of teaching us how to eat better and helped us tailor our meal plans to meet not only our physical needs, but also our medical needs. I had some pretty severe medical needs that we were trying to help control with a diet change, and she was the only one that seemed to take that seriously. - We had to frequently ask for services that were supposed to be regularly provided throughout the program (taping, body composition, weigh ins, etc). - Some of the staff were more frugal in their food recommendations than others. For example, one "nutritionist" that we saw was so into trendy food items that our monthly food budget skyrocketed, so we were spending close to $800 a month for 2 people. The other two "nutritionists" we had were more reasonable and had many cost-friendly alternatives, so we only ended up spending around $400 a month on food for 2 people. 2. Many of their recipes have instructional and caloric discrepancies. Counting calories is kind of a must when you are trying to lose weight, so it was frustrating to me that SO MANY of the recipes had stats listed that were very different from what was in the meal plan system. I had to downsize many of my meals to almost nothing in order to stay within my calorie and macro goals. I brought this issue up with several of the staff and received only a shrug. 3. It's EXPENSIVE, especially considering none of them are licensed nutritionists (the one we saw that actually was a licensed nutritionist ended up leaving partway through our second 12 week round). The cost would have been easier for us to swallow if their staff had better qualifications and training. In the end, we were still happy that we chose to use THF, as we learned a lot, lost some weight, and formed several healthy habits.
