He found the high water from that morning's commute had pushed into the ignition coil wells, where an existing valve cover gasket leak had already let oil pool. That combination took out a coil and fouled the plugs. No upselling, no scare tactics, just a clear explanation of what failed and why, with a straightforward repair plan: valve cover gasket, all 5 spark plugs, and the one failed coil. Communication was constant throughout, and he had it ready Wednesday just before close. Even gave me the military discount, sent me home with a thank-you note and a gift bag, and walked me through exactly what to watch for to keep this Jetta running well long-term. At 70k miles on a 2010, he made it clear this car has plenty of life left in it if maintained right and that's exactly the kind of honest, customer-first advice that earns repeat business. There is an auto body's part shop there currently there down the road from them. They do not do oil changes nor have they ever done oil changes. I think she got it mixed up with another place.
