I asked them to check which tire is causing my car to wobble at low and high speeds. They replace a tire, under the warrant, and wanted me to buy the other one, I asked them to tell me which tire it was 1st. Funny enough they came back and said that the Rim was messed up on the same tire they want me to replace. Then they came back with my keys and a bag with my security lug-nuts in it. they said they don't used that style of nuts. so they want me to drive off with a lug-nut missing on every tire. When to and Alignment specialist and he told me it was that tire they want me to buy. The Tire was had developed a bump and will come apart if I keep driving it. I did had ask to talk to manage, and never did. Dome one else tried to help and told me all my rims where damaged. Never going to this location again. read more

Came here to get a flat patched, they convinced me I needed 2 new tires, then said they put air in the other 2 and that I was good to go. About 5 minutes after leaving the parking lot, my tire pressure light came back on. By the time I got to my work, one of the tires they hadn't replaced / said was fine was completely flat. I had to get the spare put on just to drive back here the next day. They said they would get me in quickly but I've been here an hour and my car hasn't even been pulled in yet. I'm having to miss 2 days of work in a row now because of their mistake. I'm glad they have a warranty though read more

Do not go here if you want your wheels to stay on your car. I had a rotation done and no one used a torque wrench, one of my wheels nearly fell off on the highway. Every single bolt was barely finger tight, the torque specs say 150 ft lbs. Don't let people be lazy with safety. read more

Came to fix a singular nail in my warranty covered tire. Arrived around 11:30am, waited a bit to check in...fine. Once I was checked in I was told no more than 2-3hrs. Again, fine I'm a walk in. I can wait. My car was supposed to be ready NLT 2:15pm. At 2:15pm I called and they said so sorry we're still backed up, we still haven't serviced your car but we promise it's 'about to be next'. At this point I'm annoyed af, but still fine. It is currently 3:48pm and my car just went into the bay a few mins ago. This is completely unacceptable. I understand I was a walk in but had I been given the appropriate expected wait time I NEVER would have stayed. I would have left and made an appointment for a later day. THAT is the infuriating part. Avoid this location at all costs. It's by far the worst one. I will never come here again or recommend it. Salesman coaxed me in and it turned out to be a zoo. Absolutely packed. The worn tires were not properly rotated, they just installed the new tires and let it go at that. All I wanted was to be acknowledged. There were two employees at the desk when I walked in. One was not assisting a customer and the other person was. I walked up and waited to be called on. Neither employee acknowledged me. Once the person helping the customer was done, I expected him to tell me that he would be right with me, instead he walked past me... This has nothing to do with this particular shop but to Discount Tire as a whole. I would not trust this company with your vehicle. I recently had my truck tires balanced and had another tire fixed on my sons truck. My son was driving down the hwy when his friend behind him called and told him to get off the road that his tire was wobbly. Once he pulled over he noticed that all his lug nuts fell off. As for my experience I was just outside of Houston on I 10 when my truck started wobbling as I was trying to get off the hwy my driver side rear wheel came flying off, luckily it went off towards the passenger side and off the hwy or it could have killed someone. I had 8000 dollars worth of damage to my truck and when we got it towed to a shop the guy noticed lug nuts missing on all the rest of the tires on the truck. I filed a claim with discount tire and as you would think they denied any wrong doing which is understandable because lug nuts and tires constantly fall off vehicles even if discount tire recently removed and installed every tire that had missing lug nuts or had fallen off vehicle. Of course it's not their fault. Trust me it's worth a few extra bucks to go to reputable tire shop, it may even save yours or someone else's life. I've used discount tire over 30 years easily spent 35 thousand dollars over that time and that didn't affect their decision 1 bit to help me with just my deductible. That company does not care about their customers all they want is to keep pumping vehicles in and out as fast as they can with no consideration for your safety. Every discount tire location I enter is the same exact same song and dance. You have to wait in a line just to speak to. Somebody would usually takes 20 minutes today. I came in trying to get a patch for a tire. I purchased from them with a full warranty, it doesn't matter how many free services you offer if it's nearly impossible or very difficult to take it vantage of them when you need it as a customer I always end up going to Martinez Tire and getting the patch that I need done in about 15 minutes total and I don't have to wait hours. Customer service needs a lot of work at every location in San Antonio. Not just this one just like everyone else in my life is busy and I don't have a ton of time to block out of my day. When I need to get my tires taken care of you are not reliable fast, and the value for your product is expensive. read more

Go to a different discount tire. I have spent 8 hours over 3 trips this week at this discount tire, all for a simple patch The first trip, they patched a leak from a small rock in my tire. After my first trip, the tire leaked to about 22 PSI and was almost flat overnight. The second trip (next day), they stated that they would have to order my tire and that it would come in the next day or so. They said they would call me when it comes in and that I wouldn't have to wait. Before my third trip (today), I called because they hadn't called me. I had to fill up my tire with air about 3 times a day over a couple of days. They said they didn't have the tire, so I asked them to refer me to a different discount tire that had the tire. They magically found the tire, and I was told to come in. I checked in 30 minutes after opening and was told I would have to wait 3 hours (keep in mind they said before that I wouldn't have to wait). After they serviced my vehicle, they came back and told me that the previous employee botched the repair and messed up the sensor which was leaking air. So they fixed the sensor and checked my tire and there were no leaks. They didn't even put on the new tire that they ordered for me. They could've fixed it right the first time. They didn't. They could've tried to fix it the second time I went. They didn't, and just ordered a new tire for me. And when I showed up the third time for them to put on the new tire, they don't even put on that tire and just fix a sensor. Terrible! read more

Phenomenal professionalism. i purchased two tires from them about 3 weeks ago and a few days later noticed my steering wheel would shake when i hit over 70mph. I was given great fast customer service when i purchased my tires but honestly I wasn't expecting the same quality of service now that I had an issue. I was wrong. From the advice they gave on the phone, to helping me with an immediate appointment, they really rendered great customer service. I arrived about ten minutes early and they still checked me in. The manager came out introduced himself, explained some options with me and let me know what they were going to do. The manger (i believe his name is John) came back out when they were done, explained to me in detail once again what work had been done, and I was out of there within a total of 20 minutes fromstart to finish. He invited me call back if the issues still persist, which i'm happy to say it did not :). My issue was resolve. Being a female, whenever i go into a mechanic/ tire shop i'm always hesitant on if they are going to try to BS me, or even dread dealing with staring or over friendly customer service. Neither of that occurred at this location. From management down to ever worker in that shop, again rendered professional welcoming customer service that was not gender bias. Having lived in Southtown over two years I didn't realize this location was so close by but am I ever so glad it is. It was time to get my tires rotated and balanced before holiday travel and this location made it a breeze from start to finish. I went online and was able to make an appointment a day in advance. Upon arrival I was locking my vehicle and before I could start to move towards the front entrance the Senior Assistant Manager was already on his way to meet me at my truck. He asked how he could help me and I told him I had set an appointment for a rotate/balance tho I was 15mins early. After a quick survey of my tires he took me inside, showed me where my tread currently set at and pulled up my information in their system. After a moment of confirming my contact info he took my keys and in under half an hour, not only where my tires rotated and balanced but they also checked and corrected the air pressure in all tires. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. The waiting area and store was clean and well kept. I've been going to Discount Tire for as long as I've been driving and having this store so conveniently located to our home in Southtown (not to mention the stellar service) makes me a continued repeat customer. i purchased a warranty with my car for tires. i was able to use this warranty for two tires. recently I had to use it again for another flat that needed to be replaced and they said they haven't done any service with third party companies. this is a lie because I just had two tires replaced within the last two years. they told me they haven't done it for 5 years. don't trust this company because they are not helpful and do not honor warranties like they say. on top of that I came in at 2 pm and they checked me in at 400 two hours later. no business read more

Their customer service was excellent, I went to a different location a couple of days ago to have my tires rotated, they didn't catch a leaking tire of mine although they told me the pressure was way off on one of them. My light came on again and I went to this location to have the tire repaired. Eunice assured me they should have checked all 5 tires, and updated me on my need for a new spare (that could have been bad!) there was a long wait but Eunice kept me updated without an appointment. Went this morning due to a flat. Had a very pushy salesman trying to sell me everything under the sun. Asking all these questions about why I go to Volvo for service like it was any of his business! He would not take no for an answer! Luckily my husband was over at Dutch Bros and he came and handled this annoying sales guy! Didn't even ask me if I needed anything. Discount tire is usually pretty awesome. It's hard to mess up "hey we patch you for free", but this location is more sales focused than any other discount tire I've been to. They are super concerned about my tread depth, which has been hovering around 4/32" or in the yellow zone per the fancy graph they show for the past year or so. I know you - the informed reader - is thinking that tread depth does not stay at 4/32 for a year - and you are probably correct. Online they say 'Discount Tire and industry standards recommend replacing tires worn down to 4/32" and below, and will not service tires worn to 2/32" and below.' but apparently this location feels uncomfortable about servicing / refilling / patching a warrantied tire that has about 4/32 tread. That was the story they gave my wife anyway before selling her on two new tires. In short, go to this location if you want a more sales-person infused discount experience, or if you really like buying new tires for fun. read more

After a horrifically bad experience this past month at the Austin Highway Discount Tire, it makes you appreciate great service. This review is regarding a visit over 6 months ago, but was memorable enough to leave a review. The manager, Ben, and his location were nothing short of awesome. I needed a hard to get tire, and after looking online and it showing none in stock in the San Antonio area I called this location and Ben was very friendly from the moment he answered the phone. I was expecting it to take a week or so for the tire to come in, but surprisingly he called me the next day when it arrived. Upon further inspection of my vehicle, it turns out I needed 2 tires, and he ordered a second tire. He did not try to sell me anything I did not need, and replaced both tires for FREE under the warranty I had purchased through them. The store itself was very clean, and every employee I interacted with was very friendly. The service took maybe an hour which is nothing to complain about. Because of this great experience (and other visits before) I have always recommended Discount Tire to friends and family. That being said, after this visit I referred a friend whom went to a different location and the experiences could not have been more different. The other location was condescending, unprofessional, and even STOLE MONEY via charging for a service that was not provided and then lied about it because they believed the customer would not know any better. The good experience at this location saved me as a customer who would have otherwise been lost, but I will likely no longer be referring others. read more

This place did not ant to help me in any way. I know it's not your responsibility. But when I have a blowout 3 blocks away and asked if I could get a ride back to my Jeep. They said no. So I had to walk to good year a couple blocks further. And they not only gave me a ride to my Jeep helped me take the tire off but they took me to discount tire so I can purchase the tire they didn't have in stock. And helped me out my tire back on. Talk about customer service. Goodyear did not even charge me a penny. For any of this. So that's discount tire. I will never recommend this location to anyone for anything. This is my favorite branch. It has saved my day in many a ways. Their integrity and quality of service is priceless. They have always been patient with my frequent visits to check my tire pressure. Twice, they saved me from danger by detecting an issue with a tire. Twice they fixed my flat at no charge, and that is inspite of the fact that my tires were not purchased from them. My most recent tire repair was done late in the day. I had arrived late in the afternoon to have my usual tire pressure check when they found my front driver side tire at 24 psi when it should have been 35. I was at another branch a little over a week ago when I noticed the same issue with the same tire but the inspector for that store said that my tire was fine. The manager himself from this branch who checked my tire pressure recommended the tire to be checked. First, I left after air refill because I had just planned to return the next day since I saw a line of cars being served. My gut feeling had prompted me to return and have my issue fixed. I came back and it was almost closing time. There was still a short line of customer before me awaiting service. The store did not even refuse service for me. In fact there was another guy who came later than me and they accepted to do service for him likewise. They were ready and willing to accommodate anyone who would have arrived by 6pm. They did lock the door when 6pm came but continued to serve with utter hospitality those who were still in the store. Now that is truly praiseworthy service.
