We popped into King William Wine after seeing it on my social feed. My wife and I fell in love with this place for the atmosphere, wine, cocktails, the food menu and the staff!! The secret ingredient are the proprietors, Jill (the sommelier) and Juan, who clearly have a passion for what they do. The decor is quite beautiful while not being pretentious. They have lots of seating, including outdoors, and a private room for about (4) people. The menu is very much progressive, including a brunch menu with lobster Benedict. As you would expect, their wine selection is solid, featuring European and South American wines at reasonable prices. Special kudos to the staff, including Max, who made sure that everything was to our expectations. Highly recommend trying it out for dinner, brunch or just some wine or specialty drinks (they have a full bar).

Oh oh oh my Different level Different experience Elevated experience You feel the vibe Wine club options with different locker options. Or join the give me two bottles of wine a month, all the perks and yes I will drink one of the bottles on location - wine club!!!! Higher in membership, private tasting and social room. Great wine selection Full bar Great food.... GREAT A twist on some classics, example - Crema Catalan. Spending 3-4 months in Spain I appreciate the Chefs twist on this Classic. The owners (Husband and wife team) check in on you routinely. If they are trying to make you welcome and part of the family accomplished. This a dream and new lane for them. Funny they stated they don't have restaurant, bar, or hospitality back grounds. I'm going to respectfully disagree. You can't teach love in what you do, pride, pure family type customer service. That is planted in your DNA and it shines with the owners and has a trickle down effect to management and the team. Chef Sandra Maldonado- Lord the food! Gracias Operations manager Liz, you would think she is the daughter of the owners. Bar tender manager Jack. I have followed him around SATX - Example at Texas Jazz. Great pick up! Polished and does those little things that separate him from others. The rest of the team, polite and on point. Must go, For a unique and different San Antonio experience and more importantly the MEMORY Higher end $, but well worth it. Congratulations on your opening, personally we will frequent monthly, adding it to our routine. The Wine Bar at King William https://share.google/SKFlSXAKeeBo7tSej

We will always visit this fabulous restaurant. Never, ever, a disappointment. This past visit was over the top. A special night to enjoy a visit from my daughter from Fort Worth and my DIL from Weiden, Baveria. We were treated like royalty. Goodness, the food was amazing. The drinks exceptional. The service was way over the top. Highly recommend. It's a very special place. The atmosphere is wonderful. We love this place!!!

Heard about the latest brunch spot at the Blue Star complex and had to come check it out for myself and glad I did. They do take reservations, and they are recommended as this spot is not too large and seating is limited. They do have a small outdoor patio for outdoor dining as well. As you walk in you notice the vintage decor and furniture that add a touch of elegance to the motif, but they also play modern music in the dining area to keep things lively. After looking over the menu, I go with the heritage lamb hash and the Chef's Bacon Experience because why not. The bacon comes out first and you get three differently flavored bacons offerings. I don't recall the different profiles, but they were all distinctive, flavorful, and not overly salty. The lamb has comes out next and it smells great. It comes with a crispy potatoes with a poached egg in the middle. The lamb was moist and flavorful with no gamey taste. The poached egg was perfectly made. During our meal the owner came by to check in on us and our meal which was a nice touch. The staff was super friendly and worked well as a team. Overall, I really enjoyed my first time here and look forward to coming back and try more of the menu.

Our small group had the pleasure of being the first customers to ring in the New Year of 2026 with brunch at King William Wine. We were met at the door and explained the history and careful thought that went into the overall layout and decor throughout the space. Our group of 5 shared the Bacon Experience, Champagne Brunch Tea Tray and they Butcher's Brunch Board and it was more than enough to leave us all full and satisfied. The service was top notch and we even had the opportunity to speak with the owner's and understand their vision behind the space. Everything we had was top notch and, although full, we had to try the Gemutlikuchen dessert cake which came out in a large enough portion for 5 people to share. It was absolutely amazing. Because we went on New Years Day, there was a limited menu, so we are excited to go back and get the full brunch experience. One last note - they have an extensive wine list. We are not big wine drinkers ourselves, but you can tell the owner's have a passion for wine and talked us through some of the wine tasting experiences and classes they will have in the future. Super cool place. KG Recommended!

Happened upon this gem on a lovely rainy Sunday afternoon, right before closing time. Stunning and welcoming and cozy from the minute you step inside. Ashley graciously provided us with the story of this place, and the wine, and the intention of it all. We were seated at the bar underneath vintage chandeliers, sipping champagne and treated like family. It was truly hard to leave. With the start of Sunday Suppers, and of course their Bubbles and Bacon brunch... needless to say, we will be back!

It is a beautiful venue, nicely appointed with booths, tables, and a huge gorgeous bar. Their happy hour is one of the best in town. The food is so delicious (we especially love the red pepper soup!). The wine selection is huge! Finally, the service is top notch. Both Tiffany and Heather are great, and the owner Kim is so engaging! You feel welcome the second you come through the door and you can tell a lot of love went into the restaurant's creation. I will say the Sunday all day happy hour and trivia game is a bit too crowded and noisy for me. So I'll stick to the other evenings in the future. And I'm gonna tell all my friends about this great place!

They were pretty busy with reservations when we arrived so we sat at the bar. They have happy hour from 3-6 Wednesday- Friday and all day Sunday. They have a separate happy hour menu with bites and a couple different wines. There main menus does consist of wines from multiple regions of the world. They also have wine flights for you to sample new things . My wife and I ordered the meat balls and the cellar cut flat bread . The meat ball's were very tender with excellent flavor and are served with a marinara sauce and ricotta cheese. It's also accompanied by two slices of garlic bread. The Flat bread was a nice portion size for two . It is meant for those who love cheese as the mozzarella and feta are very present. The meat portion could be a bit more for me ( I'm a carnivore). The dough was nice and airy and the flatbread overall was tasty. The feta was a bit too much for my taste. Could have done less. I started with the GSM and my wife with the Cab Sav from happy hour . The GSM was flavorful, a little bold, but a little bitter to me. The Cabernet was very fruity and full bodied . We tried a couple other wines that were spot on. This is a nice place to have wine with friends and bites. It is a nice size and has an excellent atmosphere. Very nice decor and bright. We will be back !

There are a few tables as well as high tops and the bar top available for sitting. The staff is usually really kind, though not always as knowledgeable about wine as you may expect. By no means do I need a wine connoisseur to be employed, but to at least know the basics would be important. We had a staff take our order and another drop off a wine flight and then said that it went from the driest to the sweetest, but was saying a Cabernet is sweeter than Zinfandel which is wildly inaccurate. Of course I bartended for 10 years and served tables for another 5 so I was able to tell my husband the correct information. However, if someone doesn't know wine well and expects something specific, they may be disappointed by the misinformation. We always get the wine flights so my husband can have reds while I enjoy whites along with some small plates or snacks. The food is enjoyable and decently priced for it being a wine bar and not a restaurant.
