I visited King Wok at their Sunset Lake Road location on July 21st, 2026. There appeared to be one employee on duty at about 330pm when I arrived. The restaurant was empty except for me and the attendant. The business was dimly lighted and the air conditioner set at a moderate level neither too cool nor too warm. It felt very pleasant in there as a stark contrast to the 90 degree heat outside. There were a few small tables with chairs along one wall. Along the opposite wall closest to the order counter were a line of chairs for takeout customers to wait. All of the furniture was well used and with the flooring clean. As I approached the counter I saw no one and had fleeting thoughts that I was alone but after striking the call bell, the employee came from the kitchen area and waited for me to order. I ordered pork spring rolls and crab rangoon. I don't know how long the preparation took because I left for about 10 minutes to visit an adjacent business and I returned to King Wok the order was ready to go. The items were well packaged to remain hot during my ride home of about 30 minutes. About Chinese foods I know very little; I only know what I like so upon tasting the crab rangoon I was very pleasantly surprised. I've eaten at many Chinese establishments over the years and become accustomed to a pronounced tangy flavor from the many crab rangoon pieces I've sampled but this was different. A slight tang was detectable but better was the taste of crab. I love crab. I've never tasted crab in the rangoon before but this time it was there. it was delicious! I loved it! If for no other reason, I will return to King Wok for more crab rangoon; two or three orders at once. Wow! The pork spring rolls were a little disappointing. The filling seemed undercooked, There were many small, hard pieces (carrots?) in each roll that were out of place compared to the moist, slightly slimey rest of the filling. I did not like them. Also, I had never had spring rolls before. I expected something light with noticable bits of tender pork. With these rolls I couldn't taste any pork at all but was I supposed too? My ignorance of Chinese food worked against me on this trip. Lastly I should mention the "spring rolls" I received looked alot like egg rools of which I've eaten dozens. I think its possible the cook may have prepared egg rolls for me instead of the spring rolls I ordered. The difference between the two is something I will research before returning to King Wok. To summarize ... I will return to King Wok. The Crab Rangoon was exquisite in the crab flavor I love over the hint of tanginess. I could make a meal out of just that one dish. I will not pass judgement on the pork rolls. I'm not sure what errors, if any, occured. I'm happy to visit King Wok again for more crab rangoon, pork rolls (spring or egg), and the relaxed ambience of a small, clean restaurant. ..... read more

There are 2 Chinese places in town and i prefer this one to me the food is consistent i have some dishes that are my go to; shrimp and broccoli, chicken mein fun, won ton soup, egg rolls, egg foo young. I have found after engaging the man who runs the place that he is very polite and i can get him to smile. Tried the Pork dumplings here, in usually on the hunt for the ones that are soft and lightly pan fried which these were not. They were deep fried and fine just not my style. Would definitely come back and try other stuff, staff was friendly and food was ready quickly. My wife ordered white rice and received pork fried rice. I ordered a shrimp roll and received a spring roll. I ordered and paid online and the guy at the counter told me I owed him for the "other" order. I only placed one order online and showed him my cell phone which indicated that I paid for the order. After a heated discussion, I told him to charge my credit card for the second order that I didn't make and he refused. The phantom order had not even been prepared at that point. That was my first and my last visit to King Wok. I'm going to go back to China Uno in Holly Springs where their orders and bills are always accurate, the food is significantly better and the people are always friendly, polite and respectable. read more

Can't diss them and can't praise them. It's your garden variety Chinese-American egg roll and General Tso's chicken kinda party. Since I'm a snob for real Chinese cuisine, I will stick up my nose at places like this one any and every chance I get. Except today. Nope, it was an okay outing. I sat there and ate some pretty good white rice over sauteed broccoli. Then, I chased it with this genre of food's customarily bland, grey, ugly pork dumplings because I'm dense sometimes and never learn. My brother ordered chicken wings, which looked very good. But the server weirdly brought them over in one small plate with the food spilling over the sides. Like, if she'd brought them in a larger plate, or at least provided a second plate to put the bones, I wouldn't have furrowed my brow at this. I love the food from King Wok. It's always fresh,hot, and tastes great. The customer service is a little lacking. When I go to pickup sometimes it's confusing between who is waiting for pickup, who is waiting to order and just no general sense of order in the lobby. A lot of the times the person who checks you out is in the back cooking so you just have to wait until he comes up front. It's frustrating, but I put up with because the food is so good. read more

Occasionally we get the craving for some good old, Chinese-American food. Being recent arrivals to this part of N.C., we had tried several places and really hadn't found anything we liked until we tried this little spot. It has become our "go to" favorite for Chinese. Don't misunderstand. We are not talking about genuine "authentic" Chinese as eaten by the citizens of China. Instead, it is a good "American" style Chinese restaurant. The food, so far, has been fresh, made in house ( surprising in the case of some of their food as most restaurants of this type have embraced cheap, frozen substitutes for such things as eggrolls, Rangoon and dumplings) and well flavored and properly seasoned. Favorites so far include the above mentioned eggrolls, the chicken with mixed vegetables, garlic shrimp and the Lo Mein. We look forward to trying many other dishes. Wish I could give a zero. Worse customer service EVER. My fiancé asked multiple times how much the total was going to be, he got ignored by a man on the phone. I unfortunately went to pick up the food not knowing we were overcharged. My fiancé called them to see how it happened and the lady on the phone was rude and laughed at him. We use to order food here all the time and with relocating here we were trying to return our business but the fact that she laughed while he was trying to find out how it got so expensive so fast is extremely disrespectful and disgusting. We work hard for our money and when getting overcharged by at least $20 isn't acceptable. Will never do business here again nor will I ever recommend this place to friends and family anymore. read more

Just ordered takeout from here so I cannot comment on the actual atmosphere or service. I ordered the chicken mein fun and found it to be well seasoned with tender chicken. I like the thinner, shorter rice noodles because they aren't as messy. I would have liked more vegetables in it but it was jot and flavorful a pretty standard takeout dish. My sister loves the chicken lo mein and always orders an extra egg roll. My mother tried the chicken chow mein and said the cabbage was nicely cooked and she seemed to enjoy it as well. read more

They use to be our go to for take out, but things had changed because it is running by different people. There is no way to describe what a horrible experience we had,i won't even go there. I am not sure what the change is but my last 3 orders at King Wok have been terrible. The quality of food has gone done, not sure what is up with the crab ragoons either. Their sweet and sour chicken are these tiny pieces of not sure what but I don't find any chicken. I know Christmas Eve is a busy day but this was my last straw. Ordered at 5:30 was told to come in an hour for pickup and I left at 8pm with my food. Got home and it was terrible. Too many other options in Fuquay now for me to even consider King Wok again. read more
