We ordered delivery from here on a Saturday night. The meals were as ordered and came hot and exactly when promised We got beef and broccoli and chicken lo mein. The beef was tender and there was more meat than usual. The broccoli was fresh and not overcooked. The chicken lo mein was good as well with nice sized chunks of chicken. Solid choice for Chinese food in Holly Springs. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and flavors and options are as expected. Ample menu options: typical menu items that you would see at a N.C. based Chinese restaurant plus additional American items. We chose the sweet and sour chicken ($12.29), chicken fried rice ($5.39 for small and $9.79 for large), sesame tofu ($12.99), shrimp lo mein ($5.99 for small), and wonton soup ($4.79 for large). Portions are large. After enjoying some for dinner, I used the rest for packed lunches. I particularly enjoyed the sesame tofu and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit greasy, but not an issue after 5 minutes in the air fryer. Flavors are as expected: nothing too fancy, but exactly what we wanted. The wonton soup had excellent texture and rich flavor. The sesame tofu was seasoned well, as were the fried rice and lo mein dishes. Multiple ordering options: Order online, over the phone, or at the counter (by circling what you want on the menu). I chose to order online (only option is to pay at pick up). I received a confirmation text and then a second text 12 minutes later saying my order was ready for pick up. The order was ready upon arrival and accurate. Condiments and fortune cookies are set out in self-serve boxes. Good customer service: Employees are welcoming, efficient, and helpful. The lady working the counter (and several other positions) was enthusiastic and quick. I arrived to pick up my order and selected the hanging receipt matching my order number. Parking: parking is available on both sides of the lot near the restaurant. At busy times this area gets busy making it difficult to maneuver and park. Lowes foods is close by with a larger parking lot. Therefore, you will find a spot, you just may have to walk a little. Earlier in the day and after work I have easily found a close spot. My husband ordered chicken fried rice and pork fried online. He brought it home and it was DISGUSTINGLY! The chicken was rubbery and the pork tasted old and smelled awful! I called to let them know I was disappointed and was put on hold for the manager. After 1 minute they hung up on me. The woman had my phone number but has not had the courtesy of calling back. The food was awful. The fried rice was just dyed yellow, with none of the usual veggies or egg--dry and tasteless. The chicken was cheap, rubbery, and nearly inedible. The vegetables were limp and far from fresh. Overall, the flavor was terrible, and the meal felt below edible standards. I will not be returning. I don't consider myself a world-class chef, but when I eat out, it's to enjoy something I couldn't easily make at home. With that said, I'd recommend making your own food or looking elsewhere. For ny style strip mall takeout this place is pretty great so far. I'm.always on the hunt for dumplings that are on the more doughy side but these were good. After a long travel day, we ordered takeout on Christmas Day. We were not alone. It turned out that a lot of people had the same idea. The wait for takeout was about an hour. When we went to pick up our order, the place was jammed packed with diners and others waiting to pick up their orders. The lady, who I assume was either the owner or the manager, did an AMAZING job getting everyone's orders ready. She ran a tight ship, it was impressive to watch her work. She double checked our order before we headed out. We noticed she did that with everyone to make sure all the orders were correct. Truly appreciate that. We ordered the egg drop soup, shrimp spring rolls, house special chow mai fun, and the cashew chicken. Everything was hot and delicious. My favorite were the shrimp spring rolls. Yum! This is a small takeout Chinese in the Lowe's Foods strip mall in Holly Springs. Overall very large portions and good value for money. We ordered the orange chicken, lemon chicken, and spare ribs. Our favorite was the lemon chicken. It comes with the lemon sauce separately so you can add it as little or a lot to the dish once you get home. Only had a wait a few minutes once I arrived so it was definitely hot and ready when I picked it up. Would return. read more

Metallic object in food. A piece of flexible metal, apparently from a cleaning tool of some sort, was in my food and I almost swallowed it. (I will follow up this mobile post with a photo). I felt something unusual in my throat and just figured it was a piece of bone etc and tried to wash it down. Fortunately I was unable to and ended up coughing it up. This could have caused serious choking or internal problems if I had managed to swallow it. I immediately drove back to the restaurant with the food and metal shard to get a refund. They happily returned my money (minus the $1 tip which I didn't care about), but shockingly didn't seem surprised at all and gesticulated to each other about it being a piece of cleaning material. I will not be returning to China Best. Edit: 1 star may seem harsh for what could be a fluke incident, but how could I possibly rate it higher? They obviously knew what the metallic object came from, and if so why haven't they done anything to remove it from use? That demonstrates a recklessness and lack of care. Inexcusable. read more

The restaurant seemed to have a constant flow of patrons coming in and out and the reviews were good, so we thought we would give it a shot. After ordering online as requested by signs in the restaurant, we waited about 30 mins for our food. When we got home to eat it was very hot. The sesame chicken and the general tso chicken were both very soggy. The cheese wontons were almost to hard to eat and very greasy. The egg rolls were too greasy to eat. This place is just awesome. We've been going here since we moved to North Carolina and it's one of only a couple Chinese places I would actually recommend. The food is just fantastic. We have never been disappointed no matter what we have ordered. The service is super fast and super polite, the people remember who we are and always ask how we are doing when we come in. It's great for takeout... I've never actually eaten inside before but it has a very hole in the wall charm to it. Our favorite dishes are general tso's chicken, beef lo mein, mongolian beef, egg rolls and egg drop soup. Update from my 2015 review. A lot of hands have changed in this restaurant. I loved the owners I knew in '15. After they left the quality of the food took a nose dive so we switched restaurants. But when China Uno had an insect/rodent infestation (was on the record on official health inspection site) I went back to China best and stuck to the wings and rangoons. In the last few takeouts we got more adventurous since it was yet another group and I'm happy to say the flavor is back on point and the food is nicely cooked. I noticed they added tablecloths to the tables. There are only 4 so it's really more of a takeout place. I wish they delivered. read more

This was our first time trying China Best and we weren't disappointed. My girlfriend had the chicken lo mein, which she really enjoyed, and I had the Happy Family, which was delicious! We also got an order of crab rangoon for an appetizer and found it to be great, as well. Our dinner was takeout, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our order was ready - only about 10 minutes from the call until I walked in the door. The hostess was very helpful and friendly, the food was hot and delicious, and the price is extremely reasonable. I look forward to trying more of their dishes. read more

It's wonderful to walk into a place and immediately feel welcome. China Best in Holly Springs is one of those places. The young lady behind the counter greeted me with a generous smile and an enthusiastic thumbs up! She told me my choices were great (quarts each of Wonton and vegetable soup), and then asked me how I like my food prepared. I was so used to the "you get what you get" attitude in other restaurants that I was stunned into silence for a few seconds. I ordered extra tofu in the vegetable soup, and it was wonderful. I've been back a few times and never been disappointed. They are VERY affordable, and the food is delicious. read more
