Under the definition hole in the wall, there would be a picture of China Cary in the dictionary! Located in the same run-down strip plaza as Cozzolinos, China Cary is as dreary on the inside as it is on the outside. Definitely low-rent district but how does their food stand up? The place is small inside, maybe four tables so think TAKE-OUT! I ordered up a special of shrimp and chicken with lo mein for about $8. Ten minutes later and voila, a plastic (and heavy container) along with a small egg roll and fortune cookie. Back in the office I crack open the container and there is a nice portion of oily noodles, broccoli, chicken and shrimp. The taste was decent, not overly salty and the chicken was tender and well-cooked. The main drawback to the dish was oil, a bit heavy handed and tough on the stomach. So as much as I thought the food was cooked decently, the portion size was above-average, I'd only give China Cary 2 1/2 stars based on one meal. But I'll be back to see what this place can really do...

General tso chicken is notated as spice. No spice flakes barely flavorful. Tasted different (not in a good way) from others I've tasted.

China Cary is okay for what it is - a hole in the wall Chinese takeout. It's close to us and we've always found the food to be adequate.

The sauce had an appropriate amount of heat and spicy, the vegetable medley was cooked nicely and the egg roll was crunchy on the outside and packed with shrimp and cabbage.

Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking on us at just the right moments without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious. The fried flounder was outstanding--perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly flaky and fresh on the inside, and not greasy at all. We also tried the Chicken Jarrett, which was incredibly savory, juicy, and packed with flavor. It is a fantastic option if someone in your party wants a break from seafood! If you are looking for top-tier food and a welcoming atmosphere in Cary, this is the place to be. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

The owner/ manager ( not sure which) went out of his way to tell us that next time make sure to order it chilled . Since we're from New England, we weren't familiar with shrimp cocktail like this. No problem at all. This visit when we placed our order and asked our server for chilled shrimp cocktail, we noticed , I'm assuming the manager/owner standing by the kitchen and he asked the server if we we had ordered it cold and then rolled his eyes ......clearly showing his disdain. So I guess Legal Seafood in Boston and even the fantastic waterfront restaurant we ate at recently in Beaufort seem to know it's very much a thing eating it chilled. All that said we decided not to put a dinner order in and requested the check. The server however, was very sweet and efficient , but the guy walking the place with his tablet was pretty rude. We didn't have this experience at the Cape Fear located in Cameron Village. Tonight's experience at the Apex location left a bad taste in our mouth, so to speak.

(Disclaimer - there is absolutely nothing wrong with Tex-Mex, but when I want Mexican food that's not what I want.) When seated, they give you both red and green salsa with delightful homemade tortilla chips. They have a small menu of housemaid cocktails, and I have enjoyed several of them. Their guacamole is great as an appetizer. As far as entrées go, I have liked the tacos, the salads, and enchiladas. For dessert, their churros, their tres lèche and their flan are all delightful. Everyone that works here that I have encountered has been absolutely lovely and the food is so good... I would come back here again and again and again. Last couple of things to note: there is ample parking out front and while you do not need a reservation, they are available.

I didn't realize when I first searched nearby and found this location, but it has multiple cuisine spot. I remember thinking as I was driving over that 'man I wish she liked Indian food' because I hadn't had any in some time. Much to my delight when we got here, I discovered not only were their Thai and Chinese inspired stuff, there was a nice large selection of Indian options. She got some chicken lo main, and I got palak paneer. She got some spring rolls, and I got my favorite Samosas. I introduced her to the papadum and chutneys that were given before the meal and she was a trooper and tried them all. Food arrived, was hot, fresh, and delicious. With the samosas it was too much for me to finish my palak paneer and I'm eating it now as I type this up for lunch on Sunday. Lo mein was well liked, she doesn't have a spice tolerance though and a 3 was a bit much for her. she said the spring rolls were great, and had finished off the lomein she brought home by Saturday night. Really great place you should check it out, they do delivery and stuff, but it was great to go in somewhere in person and enjoy a meal. Not a giant seating area but plenty of room to come in sit down and enjoy stuff.

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! We stopped by on a Sunday morning and the place was buzzing--I'm guessing many diners were coming from church. Thankfully we made a reservation because every table seemed to fill up quickly. To kick things off, we each ordered a refreshing Lone Rider wheat beer along with two appetizers. The Shoestring Okra Fries were a fun twist on a Southern classic--crispy, lightly seasoned with chili citrus seasoning, and even better dipped in the tangy lime mayo. We also shared the Artichoke Dip, which arrived bubbling hot, creamy, and perfect for spreading on the toasted bread. For brunch, we went with two very different dishes, and both were excellent. The Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor from the goat cheese and pickled onions, while the buttery biscuit with jam on the side was a nice Southern touch. The Fried Green Tomato & Bacon Benedict was the standout of the meal. Crispy fried green tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and rich hollandaise came together beautifully without feeling overly heavy. We couldn't leave without one more treat. The Strawberry Kiwi Margarita was bright, fruity, and balanced with just enough tequila and a zesty spiced citrus rim to keep it refreshing. To finish, we shared an Affogato, the perfect ending with creamy ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. If you're planning a Sunday brunch in Cary, make a reservation--you'll be glad you did. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
