Been using Cesare for several decades as has my entire extended family. He's a local legend for honest repair work.

I am not usually the kind of person who writes a review. I had such a great experience with Brad…read moreSmith's Service Center that I felt compelled to write one. It is easy as woman to feel taken advantage of when your car breaks down. Life is expensive and anything that goes wrong is a huge deal. At Brad Smith's I can let me.guard down and trust the work they do and know the price is more than fair. I have used them multiple times and never left unhappy. It is refreshing in a world that wants us to have to spend more and more money.

I took my vehicle, a 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, to this repair shop for an oil change. According to…read moreToyota's official maintenance schedule, this vehicle requires an oil change every 10,000 miles when using 0W-20 full synthetic oil. However, the shop performed and charged for two oil changes within an interval of approximately 5,000 miles. I was not informed that the second oil change was unnecessary based on the manufacturer's recommendations, nor was I given a technical explanation justifying an early oil change. At no point was I advised that the service was redundant or optional. Had I been properly informed, I would not have authorized the second oil change. I attempted to contact the shop by phone and left a voicemail requesting clarification, but I did not receive a response. I believe this reflects a lack of transparency and failure to obtain informed consent for an unnecessary service. If you can't trust this shop with an oil change, image any other service.

A few years ago my family's auto mechanic had retired so we were looking around to find a new one…read more Clay's was recommended so I took my Toyota for its upcoming inspection. I told the mechanic I had a cracked front reflector and asked if that would affect inspection. He said it would not, but after looking at it he pointed out that there was also a separation which would allow water to enter and cause more damage. I told him I had a replacement on order and he said he could put some tape to cover it till the piece arrived. I agreed and thanked him. I didn't look closely at my itemized bill till I got home, which is when I saw a charge of $15 for him to put a 3" piece of packing tape over the cracked reflector. Now, that wasn't a huge charge and they probably would have removed the charge if I asked them to, but for me it was more a matter of principle: I wasn't told about the charge. Clay's was off our list. Around the same time, my brother found another local mechanic which we have been using since then, which is over ten years now. Counting family members and two friends we recommended, there are seven vehicles that are now regularly serviced there, and not at Clay's Automotive.

Before the service, my car was not making any unusual noises. Immediately after the brake work was completed, it began making a constant squealing noise while driving. I've now returned to the shop three times, and no one has been able to identify or fix the issue. The noise only started after the brake replacement, yet I'm still left with the problem. What should have been a routine repair has turned into an ongoing frustration. For the amount I paid, I expected quality work and a proper resolution. Looking back, I should have paid more attention to the 2.8-star reviews and gone somewhere more reputable. I'll be taking my car to Pep Boys or another credible shop to have the issue properly diagnosed and fixed. This has been one of the worst experiences I've had with an auto repair shop, and I will not be returning or recommending this location to others.

I counted at least 4 employees there. I suppose they will all get paid for that last hour for just cleaning up. Said his guys worked hard this week and he was giving them a break. I have no idea when they started that break since I was there before 4 and they were supposed to go until 5 and not another customer was in sight. When did businesses start turning away customers to clean up and leave at the exact moment of closing? I remember working until close of business and then cleaning up. Definitely not going to Midas anymore. PepBoys took me and Mavis was going to take me if it was close enough.
