King's Crab Cakes and Lobster Crunchy Roll

Time for an update Kings is always consistent on everything they make there fish and clam chowder are always top notch and fresh even when the temperature is pushing 108 degrees outside it's never too hot for great cup of chowder outdoors on the patio with the misters blazing. Always great professional service. 6252026

Lemon crust Mexican sea bass, dry and no taste at all.
Mel C.

Well, a nice dining space in an upscale shopping district near the green valley ranch casino. However, the food is just forgettable unfortunately! My food, lemon crust wild Mexican sea bass was just a block of overcooked dry fish fillet without any taste, except the sauce slapped on the top! My side, brussel sprouts with bacon is seriously soaked in excess grease and over fried too! Urrrggghhhhh...... The service is standard, no complaints. They really need to up their game.

Complimentary Sourdough Bread & Butter

True to my last prediction, on our latest dining adventure here we shared a half-pound of Chilled Wild Jumbo Mexican Shrimp and each had a Bowl of New England Clam Chowder to begin. Besides being meaty, the shrimp was slightly sweet in flavor. And although Diane did not like the amount of celery in the soup, I enjoyed the added crunch. For mains, Diane selected her usual choice of Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut with Orange Ginger Sauce, and TWO loaded Baked Potatoes; and I decided to go in a new direction, to Linguini and Clams. The broth was somewhat spicy, and 12 of 16 clams tasted good at the time, but I made the mistake of forcing open two of the four clamshells that were closed after cooking, and paid for it with intestinal pains the next day. I learned to never force open and eat a clam inside a closed clamshell. Service was very good. Diane requested and received double Oyster Crackers. I was presented with two loaves of warm Sourdough Bread and butter. There was good spacing between courses.

The Herbalist: Prairie organic gin, fresh lime, muddled basil & mint.

I have come to King's Fish House over the span of many years first with my parents and then later on with my friends. I have always enjoyed not only the food, location, but the excellent service. So being hungry one evening I thought to go again as I had been there in awhile. It was lovely weather so I sat outside on the tavern side as it was fairly crowded and I didn't have a reservation. I don't care to sit inside as the restaurant side is very noisy. The inside of the tasteful bar side is quieter. I have eaten there in the past and felt very comfortable. I ordered The Herbalist: Prairie organic gin, fresh lime, muddled basil & mint. I had it with vodka, per the waitress's suggestion. It was ok, but the overpowering taste of mint reminded me of a mint mojito with lime overtones, and the basil wasn't even a footnote. If you do like mojitos though, then this would be good if you enjoy a twist of lime as your background notes. It leans to the refreshing versus cloyingly sweet. Stephanie, my waitress, asked how I liked the drink and when she found out I did not care for it, gallantly exchanged it with an Old Fashioned. No complaints on that drink. Great for sipping. I ordered the Blackened Wild Ono (Wahoo) with a Potato bun / cabbage slaw / cilantro / pickled onion / remoulade. I asked her to just put the bun on the side as I wanted to just enjoy the fish as I had not had it in ages. I realized it came with French fries and so I asked if they could make them extra crispy. The fish was blackened and so I expected some saltiness, but it was so overbearing and the fish itself was a bit overcooked. But because I was incredibly hungry, by time the fish came out, I decided I would just eat it. The Frenchfries were perfect, and the bread that came with my drink at the start of evening helped to soak up the saltiness along with my water. When it came time for the check, Stephanie asked me how the Ono was. I let her know that her service was impeccable (it really was, (very patient, professional, and caring), but that in the future maybe to not salt the fish so much and to not grill/sear so long. My only intent was trying to just be helpful for the next customer. When she came back she said she talked to her manager and they would not charge me for the Ono! I was surprised of course as I had eaten it and most of the fries. But she said they just wanted to make things right. I have to say I was very surprised and grateful with the care that they continue to express with their customers. Thank you for making my evening Stephanie and King's Fish House. I will be back.

Crispy Calamari

We've never stayed in Henderson before and were looking for an area that had a covered patio that allowed dogs. We stumbled upon King's Fish House, and after reading the Yelp reviews, we were set on enjoying some delicious seafood. On Saturday around 4:00 PM we checked into yelp to see if there might be any reservations and to our surprise there were plenty available so we opted for 5:00 PM. We were seated immediately upon arriving about 15 minutes earlier than our reservation, which was nice. The patio is cool and covered and you can enjoy a nice breeze when the weather allows it. Even though it was 92 outside the patio felt cool in the 80s. There were even other doggies in house and all were well behaved. Our waitress was attentive and we asked many questions to make sure that we got the best dish for us. We were originally looking at the crab cakes because they came so highly recommended by fellow Yelpers, but she recommended the crispy calamari. When the calamari came out, it was indeed crispy and golden. It came with two different sauces: an aïoli and a chili sauce. Both were delicious, but I preferred the chili sauce. The calamari was fresh and lightly breaded - I would absolutely get it again. We are suckers for Chilean Sea Bass and our waitress recommended that we get it blackened with the seasoning that they offer. We also ordered the house made mac & cheese, and the grilled zucchini. For no charge, they also split the plate which I thought was very nice. The blackened Chilean Seabass is a top three of all the Sea Bass we've had. It had a slight Cajun blackened crust, and the sea bass itself was fresh and buttery smooth. The mac & cheese was not a favorite for me, but my husband loved it. I appreciated the grilled zucchini. The zucchini was simple - grilled with olive oil and a little bit of salt. Lastly, our pup, Stella, got a lot of attention. Everyone loved her and they offered her a water bowl. I can see the patio being a popular hangout spot in the spring weather so I recommend making a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights. Overall, we were very happy and would be back again.

The staff was very professional, we had a reservation for a large group and we were sat immediately. The ambiance overall was very nice and the restaurant has a very open feel. The food was all very high quality and felt customized to each diner. The only downside is we wish the serving sizes were slightly larger for the price.

Crispy Catfish

The five of us decided to satisfy our fish cravings at this restaurant. Although our reservations were for 4:30 pm, the restaurant was surprisingly not too crowded at that time. We began our meal with a couple of appetizers, including octopus and crab cakes. We also shared a dozen Oysters that were fresh and tasty. The Octopus appetizer was grilled well. We then started our entrees, they were the Crispy catfish which was good and very fresh. It was served as a whole fish that was deboned, and scored making it easy to break off to eat. The Yellowtail carpaccio was good, it was served more like sashimi than a traditional flat carpaccio. The Shrimp & scallops combo was also delicious. We ordered them blackened style. The Fish and chips were only okay nothing too notable. The Chilean seabass tacos were not memorable either. The sides were very basic, nothing we would overly recommend to order again. The Mac & Cheese came late. They tasted as if the noodles were old, they just didn't taste good at all. They did take this off our bill on their own because it came late to the table. We did have excellent service, our waitress ensured our drinks were topped off. She was patient and answered all of our questions. The appetizer's and food were properly paced allowing the perfect amount of time in between each meal. The ambience was good, even though we had a booth right next to the front counter of the restaurant. It was also perfect weather to sit outside on the patio dining area.

Spicy chowder

I started out with the spicy soup. It was exactly as it said, and it was delicious. I had the New Orleans barbecue shrimp. Now it was not New Orleans in any way shape or form. At least never in my visits to New Orleans. I've been eating there for 50 years. But it was pretty good. But it was overdone. They put it on for 10 minutes it needed 4.

New England Clam Chowder

When we lived in Orange County, CA, we went to King's Fish House for all of our celebratory meal, anniversaries, holidays, etc. We knew there was one in Henderson but never made the trek until today, our pre-Christmas lunch date. We parked in the back by Lucille's and walked around the front. Just know there are a few entrances as we accidentally entered in the bar. The decor looks the same as it did in CA, fish on the wall, wooden, sleek. We went around 11:15am so they had just opened and it was easy for us to have a booth seat. The menu has changed a bit since we last went and prices have definitely gone up as well. But it was our holiday splurge so we were ready for it. We went with a dozen Kumamoto oysters, I ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder, Rainbow Roll, and Caterpillar Roll, while my husband had the Wild Ecuadorian Mahi Mahi. Considering it wasn't that crowded service was a little slow. It took about 5 minutes for us to get bread, even though it was warm and didn't disappoint. The oysters came out about 20 minutes after ordering. They were nicely shucked and very clean, and we slurped them down in record time. Even though we like them plain, they do come with cocktail sauce, horseradish, habanero relish, and a classic mignonette. It was another 10 minutes before the mahi mahi, soup, and sushi came out. The portion size definitely looked smaller than we recalled for the price so that's probably the biggest knock. Also the mahi mahi was a bit rubbery. Their clam chowder never fails to hit the spot (she reminded me it has bacon in it and that just makes it so much better). The caterpillar roll was very fresh and the rainbow roll was tasty but didn't come off as fresh as I have had at other places in Vegas. All in all it was solid but didn't leave us anxiously planning another visit. I'm sure the price point never helps especially these days and some of the service and quality wasn't as good as we would have liked. But it still pulls a good clientele and people who are out and about The District.

My boyfriend and I love coming to this spot whenever we're craving good seafood! This time, we decided to sit at the bar for a change of scenery, and it was such a chill Thursday night -- perfect for relaxing and enjoying some good food. I usually go for the crab cakes (they're always a hit!), and this time I paired them with a side of organic rainbow carrots. Let me just say -- those carrots were surprisingly good! They didn't even taste like regular carrots, more like a sweet, roasted veggie treat. Normally I'd order the mixed organic green salad, but I switched things up with the roasted beet salad instead. It was super light and refreshing -- and since I'm a beet lover, I was all about it. The service, as always, was friendly and helpful -- everyone here makes you feel welcome. King Fish definitely stays on our go-to list for laid-back nights, tasty seafood, and great vibes.

came here for dinner and really enjoyed the vibes of the place! service was AMAZING and it's a very lively restaurant with lots of menu options. we started with the berry smash and hibiscus non alcoholic drinks which were both delicious, as well as a cup of clam chowder, which actually was my favorite dish of the night. I got the fish and chips which were good but nothing incredibly special, but I liked the fries as they were thinner. we also got the chilean sea bass with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as the sides and the sea bass was delicious and buttery and the sides were good as well, but nothing special or crazy. overall, a good spot for dinner but I would definitely want to come back to try other items!

Wild Whole New Zealand Pink Bream

Once again, we met at King Fish House to celebrate a birthday. It was 15 of us this time. The place is convenient, with a delicious and diverse menu, and it's BYOB (bring your own bottle), which makes a huge difference on the bill when not everyone drinks. This time I tried something different than the Miso Yaki Wild Chilean Sea Bass, which was always the to do order. Tonight I ordered the Wild Whole New Zealand Pink Bream. I loved it! One of my friends ordered the Shrimp Bucatini Pasta, also trying something different from what we usually order. These two dishes are now among our favorites. The service was great. There were minor issues, probably due to the size of our table, but they were handled highly professionally and didn't change the excellent service that's always provided. Even when the restaurant is crowded, it feels at home, great people, great ambiance.

I ordered coippino which at $46 was expensive but I wanted a treat. Hubby ordered large clam chowder in bread bowl and Caesar salad. Cioppino lists first ingredient as crab. What I was served had no crab, 2 overcooked shrimp and rubbery calamari. The sauce was flavorful but so disappointing otherwise. I asked about the crab and was told "no crab" and I was offered additional scallops as compensation. He brought three small scallops on a plate. Hubby was served two small bread bowls of chowder with the explanation of "we are out of large bowls". Again, it should have been discussed prior to serving that there was a substitution. I saw some reviews saying that a lot of the positive reviews are just from family and friends, but I wanted to say I'm just a regular customer who randomly discovered this spot and it truly deserves the hype. Their lunch special is such an amazing deal and honestly one of the reasons I keep coming back. It runs from 2-5 PM, which I love because so many places end their lunch specials way too early. It comes with shrimp (or your choice of seafood), rice, corn, potatoes, and sausage. For the price and the amount of food you get, you really can't beat it. And don't even get me started on the flavor. The seasoning is incredible. I usually get the mix with all three flavors, but this past weekend I tried the Louisiana Cajun flavor and it was SO GOOD. I'm genuinely surprised this place isn't packed every time I come because in my opinion it beats Hot N Juicy, Boiling Crab, and other seafood boil spots EVERY time. The service has also been amazing every single visit. The owner Will (I believe that's his name) is honestly one of the nicest and most welcoming owners I've met. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and the quality of the food. Everything always comes out fresh, flavorful, and piping hot. After coming multiple times, I still haven't had one complaint. We also came here for Father's Day, and my boyfriend said the oysters were the best he's ever had, no exaggeration.
