I haven't eaten out much during pregnancy and postpartum, but I was so excited to finally be able eat tuna again after birth! Cue Poke Express. After taking baby to an appointment and running a couple errands, I saw Poke Express just across from FedEx and was obviously tempted lol So I went in and ordered my old usual favorite--furikake ahi tuna with rice and a side of the seaweed salad. And let me tell you... wow! So dang good (as usual). But something just hit the spot even more this time around. Maybe it was just that I haven't had this dish in about a year now! And the other thing being that I wasn't able to have rice due to gestational diabetes during pregnancy since it spiked my blood sugar. Anyway, this place is as tasty as it's always been! As for service? It was fine. I feel like it just depends on who's working the counter whenever you visit. Sometimes they are super nice, sometimes not (but I've never had someone be rude or mean). For the first time, I got into this store without a long line out the door. Unfortunately, I was so upset by what happened inside that I couldn't even eat my food. Two men who were complete strangers came in after me. When my order was called, one of them lifted my skirt and grabbed my ass. I then found myself sandwiched between these two large men while trying to get my order. There wasn't even a line at that point. I confronted them. I was visibly angry and telling them to get away from me, yet no member of the staff stopped to ask what had happened or whether I was okay. Everyone simply kept things moving. I understand that the restaurant is not responsible for the behavior of every person who walks through its doors. But it is responsible for managing its space and paying attention when a customer is being harassed or assaulted directly in front of staff. Please improve how you manage the pickup/line area and train employees to recognize when something is clearly wrong. If you see two men unnecessarily crowding a woman who is by herself while she is loudly confronting them, take 30 seconds to ask, "Are you okay?" I shouldn't have been sexually assaulted while picking up lunch and then left feeling as though nobody in the room cared enough to even ask what happened. read more

Poke Express is a Hawaiian; mainly poke spot in the Greater Las Vegas area. There are three different locations, but we went to the Henderson storefront. It seems like it is an underrated food spot in the area because the quality is amazing for the price. There is a huge variety of options to choose from, too! The line was long, but it moved relatively fast. I don't remember exactly all the options I selected, but between my boyfriend and I, we had a lot to eat from. The poke here is exceptional! It's a walk in walk out shop and they sell poke by the pound. They do have a fridge with drinks and Hawaiian snacks. They do sell bowls with white rice separately if you want to make a poke bowl with rice. The customer service is great you can tell they really work as a team. I cannot rave enough about Poke Express, I loved everything about it. If you're familiar with Foodland in Hawaii this place reminded me of a micro version of that. Everyone was so sweet and lovely inside and the fish is all fresh and insanely flavorful. Do not be discouraged if you walk in and see huge lines because they go quick! I was offered samples of their most popular flavors and they even mixed two types of Ahi for us because we wanted a spicy garlic Ahi. This place has a reputation that they really live up to and I am beyond excited for it! We got Da Volcano Scallops, Tako wasabi, Kihei Salmon and the Garlic Ahi and everything was amazing. I feel like in the last year, it's been kind of hit or miss. I always get the same order and the same sort of poke every time. Tonight, what I brought home was inedible. The spicy combo was oddly sweet and the spicy mayo also did not taste right. Very occasionally, I will get an upset stomach after eating their food. One time I got their spicy combo and ended up having an anaphylactic reaction. I am allergic to shellfish, so I don't know if somebody made that particular batch differently? I don't want to put all of the weirdness on them, perhaps it's just my system reacting differently, but even when it doesn't taste the same from order to order? They used to be really consistent. I've been eating poke express for years. I used to go to the craig location since I used to live over there, but since I moved now, I come to this location. Their pokey is always delicious. I've never had a problem. Sometimes the weight can be a little long, but it's not a big deal. It's definitely worth the wait My go to is usually lava flow and then I always try to get something new. I was in Vegas this past weekend for a bachelor party and we stayed at an Airbnb near by. The Bachelor said this spot is the best poke in Vegas. I love poke so why not!? We ended up ordering about 7-8 lbs of poke salmon, tuna, crab, and yellowtail for 11 of us at the Airbnb. It was really nice of them to accommodate this last minute request. Anyways, I want to highlight the fish here. It was so tender and the quality of every bite really stood out. I took a few bites and this literally took me back to Oahu Hawaii poke... I am not exaggerating at all. I am from socal and this perhaps was the best poke I've had in the states. I literally am craving it as I'm typing/posting this review. Came to get lunch here on a Saturday, and it was packed! Makes sense because the poke here is pretty cheap and they have a lot of variety. The different flavors of tuna poke here was about $17.49 per pound, while the different flavors of salmon poke here was about $19.95 per pound. You can't find this price anywhere! Special Salmon Poke - I didn't realize that it was just salmon and onion, and you add the sauce you want on top (I thought it was already mixed). They gave me the option of special sauce or ponzu, and I got the special sauce. The sauce was salty and tasted primarily of soy sauce, which was perfect for the fatty and tender pieces of salmon. The quality of the fish is amazing, tastes fresh and tender. Furikake Ahi Poke - The flavors of the sauce was sweet, and the fish was SO tender. I genuinely don't even know how this tuna is so tender because when I usually get tuna poke, it is pretty grainy. The fish has absolutely no graininess to it at all. Overall, I would recommend this place 100%! So much cheaper than what you get when you get poke bowls out and better quality as well! read more

I'm so sad I live a whole state away, because Poke Express gave me the best poke I've ever had outside of Hawaii. My order: ocean salad (seaweed salad), hamachi, limu ahi and shoyu ahi. The hamachi was by far the best. Super fresh. Big chunks of fish. The sauce was a little sweet, but doesn't mask the taste of the fish. It's pricier, but oh so worth it. My daughter agreed as well. The limu ahi was my second fave. Lots of limu. Love it. Even the seaweed salad tasted better than your average. The shoyu was the least favorite, but not because it wasn't good. I think it was just plainer in comparison to the other flavors we had. It was still super fresh. The staff was filled with the spirit of Aloha. Very nice. Helpful. This place was recommended to myself and boyfriend by my brother who lives on this end of town. Place was busy when we went in but it was well worth it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pickled onion and pickled ginger we got from the refrigerator was really good! Never thought pickled onion was a thing but it was delicious. Hands down the best poke I've had, and I can only compare it to the SoCal shops, foodland and taniokas on Oahu. My uber driver recommended the Pau Hana and I've never looked back after this one. Prior to express I was a Hawaiian style girl and I still like it. But now I love the furikake and pau Hana. Came here on a recent trip to Vegas and I'm glad that I did. They offer a ton of different poke and I love how they offer samples. The employee who helped us out was super friendly and welcoming. Everything is by the pound so we ended up ordering a 1/3 pound of shoyu ahi, limu tako, yum yum mussels, lomi salmon, da hapa ahi poke as well as 4 scoops of rice with furikake. I really enjoyed everything--all were fresh and seasoned well, but if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be da hapa ahi poke which the employee sold my husband and I on. I'm glad he recommended it to us and let us sample it because I would've never known about this one had he not. He mentioned it was his favorite and it tasted like steak which it did and it was delicious and different from other poke I've ever tasted. My husband isn't too much of a fan on raw poke, but after trying this one out he actually really enjoyed it. We liked the seared taste of it and it really did taste like steak lol. I liked how all of the poke was nicely displayed and everything looked and even tasted fresh. The overall place is a small takeout spot with no seats to dine at. Location is on the small side and they oftentimes run out of more popular items as the day progresses, so I would recommend calling in an order in advance, as well as ordering earlier in the day to avoid peak hours. We typically go to the one in Henderson but been to the restaurant in North Vegas. All of their poke fish in Ingredients are fresh throughout their various restaurants. Poker express has at least a dozen different poke flavors from garlic taco, Nemo, Aji, show you or wasabi Aji, Hamachi, salmon, and other fresh fish flavors, we typically get the bowl, but they also sell the various poke flavors by the pound as well. Service is exceptional, very helpful. They'll give you a taste if you'd like it and their rice, vegetables, toppings, complement the Poké bowls. My family have bought from here and brought it home for us to enjoy. I actually have not waked inside until today. Totally feels like I'm back in Hawaii going to get poke at a family own poke spot. Loved it. Good size variety of poke for you to order/buy by the lb. Everything is fresh for you to bring home and enjoy. Service was great. Although there were a few families in front of us, they quickly take care of everyone with what they wanted and moved us along quite quick. We bought a few containers of their pickled ginger too, less than $1.50 each. I made some rice at home, had some nori seasoning and ponzu ready, we opened up all the poke containers to enjoy. Best poke I've had in Las Vegas. It always tastes so fresh & scrumptious! The flavor variety is really good, but we pretty much always get the spicy tuna with masago. It is a little on the pricier end, but you get what you pay for. We usually get enough to last us 3 days & it keeps so we'll in the fridge. The inside is pretty small, but not claustrophobic. The service is fast and friendly. Never had a bad experience here. This Poke Express location can be found in the same plaza as Durango Taco Shop and Nakata Japanese Market, with plenty of parking. Maybe ~9- 10 years ago, my husband and I visited the Poke Express in Las Vegas that was in a Hawaiian restaurant, but as a temporary location? But that location has since closed. But what was nice about that closed Yelp page, it directed us to this location (Although later on I found out that there are 2 other locations, one in Las Vegas and one in Summerlin). My husband and I have visited this location a few times so far and always make a stop when we are in town. On our most recent visit, two Sundays ago, we ended up purchasing: Kimchi Mussels- I don't really eat spicy foods so my husband ordered 1/3 lb container size for himself. He really liked it. Tempura Poke- This poke is made with fish cakes, which I do like. I ordered 1/3 lb container size of this for myself. My husband had a few bites and thought it was okay. I don't know if I would order this again, but I did like that it was different from other pokes that I have had previously. Da Kine Poke- Also a spicy poke, that I did not have but my husband also liked it. Scallop Poke- This is my favorite poke to get from Poke Express and we order it every time. I have never seen scallop poke anywhere else (not even in Hawaii on our past trips). The scallop is fresh and the marinade they use really complements the scallop. Please note that they also have a spicy version of this for those that prefer that. But we get the one non spicy so that I can share. Brown Rice, 2 scoops, $1 each- You can't have poke without rice. I like that they do sell both white and brown rice. However on this recent visit, the rice was a little crunchy and should have been cooked with a little bit more water. In the past, the brown rice was cooked perfectly so not sure if it was the same person who made it or not. On a previous visit, we have also had Limu Tako Poke and Salmon Poke. Both are very good and would order both again. This location is pretty small and there is always a line, but sometimes the line isn't too bad. But I think in the future, I will have to phone in my order to hopefully shorten the wait time for us. Service is always friendly and the employees are always nice to also ask if we want to try a sample of any of the poke. I love that Poke Express has so many different variations of poke. They also sell some food items and ingredients from Hawaii. And on occasion, they will sell some premade cut rolls and inari (rice stuffed in those tofu sheets). But I believe these are usually only available from Thursday through Saturday. We will definitely be back, like we always do and hope others will check them out as well. read more
