I've eaten at China Mama in Chinatown before and it was absolutely delicious, so I was expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell short. I ordered the chicken fried rice, and it was very dry with no moisture or flavor. The potstickers were just okay, and the water tasted strongly of chlorine, which was unpleasant. On a positive note, the service was excellent the staff was friendly and attentive. I just wish the food had matched the great service. I'm hoping this was just an off day because I know how good China Mama can be. read more

We finally able to try China Mama in Henderson, NV. We got there at 6 Pm and only had to wait for 10 minutes for a table for 4 people. The staffs are super friendly, fast, tentative and on point when bringing out food. The decor is very inviting and warm. Simple but elegant, the atmosphere is like going to a good friend's house for dinner. We order the following items: Super fruit tea, very refreshing on a hot day. Pack with green tea and fruity flavor with a hint of sweetness. Hot and sour soup (small) bowl for $3.99. One of the best hot and sour soup I've had. It was the perfect flavor of savory and hint of sourness. The soup has strips of Wood ear mushrooms, bean curd (firm tofu), shiitake mushrooms, and smooth eye drop ribbon. If you love hot and sour soup, I highly remind you order one. Wonton in Szechuan pepper sauce: wonton was full of mince pork and shrimp. The wonton wrapper is not too thick. The spicy sauce works so well with the wonton. Not spicy for us but if you are not a fan of spicy food, it will be hot for your tastebuds. Green onion pancakes: perfectly balance of green onions. The pancake is not too doughy and thick. We dipped the onion pancakes in the chili oil and yumm! Mama special chow mein: perfectly cooked noodle with beef, chicken, red onions and shrimp. This dish packs lots of flavor. Xiao Lung Bao (steam dumplings). Perfect wrappers, not thick and the filling is Juicy. Definitely ask for a bowl and spoon when you are eating it. Otherwise, all the juices will leak out. Wok-fried organic baby cauliflower with pork (I called it Chinese bacon) cooked perfectly and with a nice crunch. Seasoned perfectly not too salty. No wonder China Mama is rated hot Chinese restaurant in Vegas and they do live up to their name and didn't disappoint. A Thursday at approximately 1:15 PM. Avoiding the lunch, rush. We arrived at the tiny restaurant and was immediately seated at a tiny table. That kind of avoided me from ordering everything on the menu because the table was small. I got the house chow mein. My cousin got a spicy crispy chicken and steamed rice. The order came out very quickly. My noodles were cooked just right and I would've enjoyed the chow mein a bit more. Had they brought the chili oil to the table but they never did. I tasted the crispy chicken and it had a fried pork rind taste to me. It didn't taste like chicken. However, my cousin enjoyed it. The service was OK however I think they were winding down from the rush-hour of the lunchtime crowd. I will return to try that ham shank. read more

Xiao long bao was good but the dough was a bit thicker than I like- I prefer DTF xiao long bao over their's. Chow fun was good and the crispy beef was good too- Service is ok- Henderson location is extremely small so I prefer Vegas location over this one if you come with a larger group. read more

A bit disappointing frankly. I've been to the other China mama establishments before and had a big craving for their crispy beef knowing how it's supposed to taste. Lesson learned not all franchise make food the same unfortunately. Noticed right away the color of the crispy beef was darker than normal and when actually eaten, it was sadly soggy :_( oily and soggy... oily and crispy would've been a great compromise but looking at other photos from this location, should've known it was off. 3.75 stars. This new location on St Rose/ Coronado is located right beside Carrot & Daikon. Love that there's an Asian restaurant corner nearby. The food here, just like the other China Mama family of restaurants has full flavor dishes. Our favorite is still the crispy beef. Think sweet & crispy yet tender thin slices of beef jerky (in the best possible way). It's addicting! The cauliflower is also outstanding with its numb tongue flavors. This one is a bit small with several two-top tables. Not enough larger tables. We went on a Thur's afternoon at 2:00 and even though there were a few people in line, by the time we were next to be called only one other party was left. Two large tables were open but they still didn't seat us...waiting for a possible large party at 2 in the afternoon instead of seating the parties waiting? After another 10 minutes, a 2 top finally came available. We were sat and shortly after the party of 3 after us got one of the large tables they were asking for. The restaurant started clearing out after that, so we could have been seated at a larger table. It would have been especially nice since we ordered several dishes and the table was crowded. Be aware they do not serve certain staple items at this location. Specifically they're pan fried dumplings. They do have some different dishes that the other locations dont. The space is small, cozy food is excellent, though the crispy beef is mostly batter and not much meat. Service is good. They're kitchen can be seen from the dining room, so you can watch food being made as you wait. Prices are decent for the portion size. China Mama on St. Rose is a cute, well decorated, new location of China Mama from the Strip & Spring Mountain. Food selection is limited for a traditional Chinese restaurant. No BBQ pork Bao Bun. Service was good. Only downside no Air-Conditioning. We were all sweating. It was almost as hot as outside. For Las Vegas in July, not great. We mentioned to our waitress, she said it's been fixed many times and is broken often. Not pleasant to eat in a hot humid room. Probably won't go back. read more

My grade starts with the same letter as their name. China Mama is a popular and successful local chain that now has 8 locations (counting Express, Haochi, and Spring) with the opening of this newest outpost in Henderson. Taking over a modestly sized spot next to Carrot & Daikon (which displaced a taqueria to the next building over for some reason), they're already quite busy due to the hype, fanfare, and maybe poor host management. When we showed up, there were several empty tables and barely anyone on the Yelp Waitlist. Several parties then signed up and piled into the waiting area that consisted of exactly one chair. And nobody got seated for upwards of 20 minutes until perhaps one of the gentlemen behind us on the list complained, after which the host promptly started seating us at the same tables that had remained empty from earlier. The food was problematic. First was the mysterious case of the Pork Soup Dumplings ($13.99, 8 pieces). It came out actually rather quickly to our table, but one dumpling was already torn and every single other one ripped when we tried to lift one from the paper in the steamer tray. They still tasted about as good as they were at another China Mama location, but most of the soup was lost. ... and then several minutes later, another tray of soup dumplings arrived. Since we already got one, we didn't think anything of it except a mix-up and declined it. But we thought about it later and wondered if that was actually supposed to be our order, while we somehow got someone else's order that had sat around and ended up deteriorating as a result. My guess is that this could have happened if the expediter got one ticket and saw this one sitting there, while the chef got another ticket and started prepping a fresh batch. Whatever the case, that was such a shame. And then there was the Honey Walnut Shrimp ($20.99): keyword "walnut." There were maybe one or two pieces of it in the entire dish, which is definitely not the correct ratio. The shrimp was actually more consistently crispy and flavorful on its own than when I tried it before from that other China Mama, but you have to have the walnuts to have a complete dish. Lastly, the Kung Pao Chicken ($17.99) was blisteringly spicy. I tried a couple of bites, which did taste pretty good to me (especially the chopped garlic), then gave up. My mom seemed to enjoy it at least. The Milky Oolong Tea ($7.00 for a pot that served two just fine) was flavorful enough and reminded me of when I tasted it in the past. Complimentary iced water refills arrived often enough. The steamed rice ($1.00) was perfectly cooked. However, the Thai Tea (normally $6.99) seemed to have too low a ratio of tea/spices, so it was mostly a milky tool. On that note, the actual dining area service also had its ups and downs. I had to remind our server of the grand opening promo (random prize draw with $50+ spend, one per table, ends 6/18), and ended up with just a free drink for the trouble. But I forgot the drink and had to rush back in a couple minutes later, and she was nice enough to remake it. That's not enough to overlook all of the aforementioned issues though. Dine at this location of China Mama at your own risk, or maybe drive out to one of the Spring Mountain locations even if you live in Henderson. read more

I know a lot of people were thrilled to have a China Mama open up on this side of town but DO NOT RECOMMEND coming to this one. Walked in at 11:10am on a Sunday. Ten minutes after they opened. Couple people seated, 2 couples waiting in front of us. We all sign up on the iPad just like the other locations. 20 minutes pass by and still no one is being seated. More people are coming in and signing up to wait so the lobby is crowded now. Maybe like 12ish tables NONE of the staff is coming by to greet you or say anything. Zero hospitality One of the lucky customers who was already dining asked to put a to go order in and we over hear the staff saying an hour!?? So how long would it take for people dining to get their food? We decided to leave because this is not service. I was a fan of China Mama not sure if I am now. Safe to say I won't be returning here again. They've opened a bunch of restaurants so this isn't a new business trying to figure it out. When we first moved to Vegas, I started following food influencers on tick tock. One in particular, Brandon from Vegas, always seemed like he had solid recommendations. One of the recommendations he had was China. Mama. Now the China Mama he was talking about was on the other side of Las Vegas, so I was super excited when a China Mama opened up down the street. We got to go there the night of the grand opening, and there was a bit of a wait. 20 to 26 minutes, but that wasn't too bad of a wait. We strolled around for a moment and then came back and were seated about 5 minutes later. The overall ambiance of the place is very welcoming and warm, it was definitely busy, but definitely not hectic. The place had a very open-air concept, so you could see right into the kitchen while they were making food. I really enjoyed that because it was nice to see how the food was prepared. The chefs back there were absolutely on point. Watching them was like watching an artist. We were seated at our table and moments later. Kathy our waitress came up to ask if we wanted anything to drink. We opted for Waters, and then perused the menu. The nice thing about this menu is it was not overloaded. They had a lot of really great things but it was not overwhelming. You could probably eat here five or six times and never have the same thing twice. We opted for the cucumber and smashed garlic salad which was super refreshing! Something I would definitely order again. For the main course we ordered the beef soup dumplings, the crispy beef, and a couple small bowls of white rice. I got to tell you, it takes a lot to fill me up and by the time we were finished, we were taking some of the crispy beef home as well as the steamed rice. I can honestly say I am stuffed. I have to brag on Kathy for a minute, one thing I appreciate about good waitresses is when they are attentive but not overbearing. Kathy was so on point, she was always there when we needed her, and was never far away from our table. Our table. She didn't hover, she made great suggestions, and made the overall meal so enjoyable! Definitely ask for Kathy! I really wish I had room for dessert as the desserts looked absolutely fantastic. Oh well, the good news is they're right down the street from my apartment, so we will be frequenting this place often Bottom line? Went back again today, but this time we sat inside it's still their soft opening and they're moving along much better Jay, the manager is on point and navigating to the soft opening they're always difficult, but he's leading the charge doing a great job. Onto the food the sweet-and-sour chicken is absolutely fabulous. If you like sweet-and-sour chicken I definitely recommend you try it. This well known restaurant chain now has a location in Henderson. I ordered the shrimp Chow Mein, which, was flavorful and had plenty of shrimp. Although, some items weren't available due to the soft opening there was still plenty to choose from. With a solid reputation for serving authentic, great tasting Chinese food it's no surprise its soft opening has garnered large crowds and wait times in excess of 30 minutes. Although, it was very busy the staff did a great job cleaning and clearing the tables in an effort to shorten the wait times. The food was just as delicious as I remember. Henderson isn't exactly known for having quality Chinese spots, so I was extremely excited when I heard China Mama was coming to town. I ordered the kung pao chicken, rice, and the sweet&sour soup. Portions are family-style, so they're extremely generous, and I highly recommend sharing to try out multiple things. I thought the kung pao was really tasty, but my one knock is that I occasionally got big bites of ginger, so I wish they was diced more finely. My soup was also very good. So far, this is my favorite Chinese spot in town and I'm looking forward to trying their most popular crunchy beef next time! read more

Came to eat here for an early dinner on Thursday night. It's nice to have a place in the community that has such a stellar reputation. We were very hopeful. 4 of us waited about 20 minutes in the small entrance since it was way too hot outside to wait. The restaurant is way smaller than the other locations with less seating available. After being seated, the waitress was friendly and efficient. We ordered the crispy beef, beef roll, pork chops, fish filet, and house chow mein. They did not disappoint and were all of the same quality and tastes as the original location. The best dish was the crispy beef, sweet and savory and well worth the wait. The least favorite was the chow mein, but you can get chow mein anywhere. Quality Chinese food is hard to find outside of spring mountain, and I'm so glad China Mama chose to pick this area of town to share its tasty dishes. For the amount of people that enjoy China Mama, I wish they would allow check in online I stead of only in person due to the lack of waiting area, also it was very warm I side the restaurant and either their AC cannot keep up with the heat of summer or they need to grant down the thermostat. It also took about 10 minutes before someone came by our table and brought us water--possibly still working out some kinks since this location is still fairly new. The Big Mouth Roll arrived over 10 minutes after the rest of the food. Now, onto the food--delicious! We had the Big Mouth Roll, Cucumber Salad with Smashed Garlic, Vegetable Fried Rice, Dry Pepper Chicken. The Cucumber Salad is very plain but very refreshing, Vegetable Fried Rice has fresh vegetables and very flavorful, Dry Pepper Chicken is best described as fried chicken pieces with salt and pepper--has fresh peppercorns and for me not terribly spicy despite the amount of dry peppers but this dish is delicious! Ordered one of their Specialties: Dry Pepper Chicken. Funny that their main dishes require adding rice as a side. (+$1/ per cup) Very large portion. Nice and crisp coating. They use chili's and Sichuan Peppercorns for that unique tingle, and mouth watering taste that you get with Sichuan hot peanuts. Recommend ordering a vegetable or 2, as this plate comes with very little veggies. First time at a China Mama location and it was pretty good. We arrived at 4 and there was plenty of availability, we were seated right away and our waiter made his way over promptly. We started off with a drink order and when he returned we were ready, I ordered the pot stickers to start and they were fresh made for sure and not frozen. For our main meal we ordered the chicken fried rice and orange chicken. Honestly the fried rice could feed 4 people no problem and I wish it was a bit smaller. The orange chicken was very good , great balance of flavors and remained nice and crispy. Went in yesterday for the first time at 6pm and had no problem getting a table right away :) We ordered 2 things: wonton soup and beef w/ broccoli-- both were amazing! Actually tasted better than the one in China town location I'm not sure why :) Our server Vicki was awesome too! They don't serve free tea at this location which is a bummer. But the place is beautiful and lots of parking and love the local crowd over here. So happy we have China Mama now in Henderson. This will be our go-to China Mama from now on. Imagine the lack of grace to give someplace open one week a single star. Sorry, that's why I usually wait until at least a month to review. However we did eat there tonight and were delighted. Same top quality as the other Mamas. The atmosphere is cozy. Low key and relaxing. Staff is friendly and super organized for being open a week. Only ding? We're big water drinkers and the table water here tastes poisonous, like it's chlorinated. We had to order soft drinks, which we never do. It's amazing to have Mama move in to an Anthem-adjacent location. And a wait list on a Thursday night? I think many, many people will agree! read more

I want to love the new location, either I am growing tired of basic Americanized Chinese food. The soup dumplings stuck to the paper causing the soup to seep out on more than half, the salt and pepper pork was so mild and very chewy- you would have to get to the scraps on the bottom to get the pepper flavor, and finding bones in the meat was very disappointing- its heavily breaded and bitting into one is crazy- the only thing that sort of liked was sizzling rice soup- and that's because the soy sauce helped revive the flavor- it's very watered down. This was their grand opening today and they did great! Food was exactly what we have come to know from China Mama at all their restaurants. Except this location has dim sum and desserts! I did not add pictures as the food is the same (maybe a few additions) but their menu from other locations, but now in Henderson!! We can't wait for them to begin take out! we now do not have to drive across town to get their fabulous food! Note to self the space is small it seats 50 ppl and reservations are only taken on parties over 6, but worth the wait if you have to. The food was average and the service was terrible! We had high hopes for the restaurant based on other reviews. I get that is was a busy Friday night, but we were sat for five minutes before a waitress approached, and instead of "hello, welcome, would you like something to drink?" We were greeted with "ready to order?" All of the other tables were given a glass of water when they were greeted, not us. Two items we wanted to order, steamed pork buns and pot stickers were sold out. No biggie, just surprising for 6:45 pm on a Friday. We ordered the Mamas special noodles. They were just average. Almost no flavor, the shrimp were boiled bay shrimp. Not what I was expecting. We also ordered the spring rolls and the crispy beef. Those were more tasty but not great. My family and even my in-laws from SoCal love China Mama so we were thrilled when we heard they were opening a location near us on St. Rose. It was pretty busy when we dined last night. They really have to start making the entrances bigger because they're so popular at all their locations that the entrance is always packed. Unfortunately we were seated by the entrance and had to deal with people awkwardly hovering over you while eating because they're waiting for their table. The food was on point per usual but what dropped my review to 3 stars is the following: 1. The AC does NOT work. It was literally 89F on the thermostat throughout our entire meal. Imagine eating anything spicy let alone temperature hot in that heat. Sitting by the door definitely didn't help either. 2. After being seated, we waited for a good 10 mins before the server came by with menus. She returned in less than 3 mins to ask us if we were ready to order and seemed to be rushing us. We were also missing a place setting and had to remind her a few times. 3. There was hair in our shrimp chow mein. Took a while for us to flag down a server bc ours was nowhere to be seen. He asked if we would like a replacement or to remove it off the bill and we asked for a replacement as we did want the dish and it was still early on in our meal. However by the time we were wrapping up with all our other dishes, we still didn't have a replacement. Took a bit to flag him down again and we just asked to cancel the item completely. All of a sudden he popped up with a takeout box of the noodles and said the kitchen made a mistake and packed it. I would've taken it and kept the charge, but it contained beef and we have family that doesn't eat beef... which is why we ordered shrimp in the first place lol. The rest of the food was good but service was really lacking. I know it's grand opening week but I think the safe move here would've been to staff heavy on a Friday night and then scale back as business normalizes. Seemed like there were only a total of 3 servers in the whole restaurant. Beyond all that though... the AC really has to get fixed here for not just the customers but their own staff as well. We have heard of China Mama for years but there is always a long wait time in their other locations so we never tried it. We ordered different dishes as we always like to try what appeals to us. I know it is busy but I felt like we were being discouraged to order more by the staff since he kept on saying that he thinks we ordered enough food. They were also out of a couple dishes that we wanted to try. The dishes were tasty, we would definitley recommend trying this or any other China Mama because the food is really good. 6/20/26 We had high hopes for China Mama in Henderson, but it was pretty disappointing overall. Service was minimal, we had someone take our order and drop off food, but we had to specifically ask for basic items like chili oil for the XLB. The soup dumplings took a long time to arrive and were oversteamed, falling apart as soon as we tried to pick them up. It was noticeable even in the video. They also weren't very good compared to Xiao Long Ducklings' XLB. The fried rice was fine, but the pork was odd...long, stringy pieces that mostly tasted like fat. The sesame chicken was decent, but about half of it seemed off, with pieces that were mostly batter and an overly crunchy interior with very little chicken. Some of it almost tasted like the way gas smells. The biggest issue, though, was the heat inside the restaurant. It was EXTREMELY hot, which made the experience worse, especially in the middle of summer. Not sure if it'll get better over time but it'll be a very long time if we (ever) go back. read more

It was my first time at this location. I've been to the Chinatown location and palace station. We had a party of eight, and waited 30 mins for a table. Which is expected. Not the biggest restaurant for parties, the palace station would be the best for that. We ordered approximately 12-14 dishes. All were amazing, but family style do it took up the entire table. They let us know that some items could take a long time to serve, but it was actually fast. Our bill was $200 for eight ppl. That's not bad at all. However, the ac was not strong in there, and it was hot! My only complaint. Will be back, and maybe try to go as well. read more

A group of five of us had a reservation for Sat. afternoon and we were all pleased with the food and the service! We ordered seven dishes which were brought promptly & were fresh & delicious! Our server was Kathy; she was so on top of everything that we never had to ask for a thing. She was the perfect server: always available but not overbearing or intrusive. Highly recommend this new location of China Mama and we look forward to returning soon! read more
