Now we have a generic version of that full of employees chasing you around the store bothering you while you're trying to look at the booze. Then there's the boxes. I buy four bottles of whisky, easily $150 price range. I drive from two hours away to get here. I want a box to put my round bottles in so they won't roll around in the back of the car. They protect these boxes like they're gold. Borderline rude. It's against store policy, I've been told. On this visit, the guy said I could have a box. He selects a tiny little box without dividers and tries to cram four bottles of whisky on top of each other. Come on. Being a wise a$$ he says, "there we let you have a box". I urge corporate to address this issue. The only reason I came, was because I was in the area and wanted a rare bottle. A Total Wine rep may reply to this review stating: they hope they can do better next time. Don't reply unless you can fix the box issue. I'm spending money. I'm a customer. Give me a carton with partitions to get home. They're lying all over the front of the store. Train your employees so they at least know the store policy.

This is the third time we've gone there where they say they should be open but it's closed early without any signage as to why. It was only 8:15pm and they were supposed to be open until 11:00pm. While sipping a taster of a great wine, we asked about restaurant recommendations that were not just BBQ, and Kevin took my information and sent over an extensive list of places all within walking or streetcar distance from Downtown. We were invited to come back later in the week for the Tuesday and/or Friday wine tastings. After gathering some work friends, we decided to attend both of those events, and they did not disappoint!
