    Pepperoni pizza

This is a nice café with great kid friendly options on the menu. We had the pepperoni pizza, it was nice and hot with a good thick crust and plenty of pepperoni. The two ladies behind the counter didn't smile a whole lot, but they were very helpful and kind to us :) there are lots of windows to enjoy the view from inside and some seating outside for fresh air.

Nice rest stop when you go to see Kamehameha's birth place and statue. Food was good but a little pricey. I didn't like the pizza crust on the first taste but it grew on me. The salad is huge as are the plate lunches. It can get windy in there so hold your plate or it may fly away like my dad's did!

Only had Dole Whip. Two tiny cups for $16+! Very expensive! I know Hawaii is expensive, but something slightly larger would be more reasonable!

We stopped by this cute place near Pololu Valley Lookout, across from the King Kamehameha statue. There are lots of menu options; wine, beer, smoothies, mixed drinks, pizza, pineapple bowls and more. We got a Mango Margarita and a Pina Colada made with passion fruit, YUM!!! Freshly made by our server. You order at the counter and pick it up when it's ready. Neat place! If you're nearby you must stop by!!

Great food venue right across the street from the King Kamehameha statue in the Kohola region of the Big Island as this is where King Kemehameha was born. Park here, get delicious food and take pics with King Kemehameha while you wait! Win, win and win!

I was visiting a friend on the Big Island for Thanksgiving and we decided to take a little trip around the island Friday and Saturday. Found this little place on our way to one of my favorite spots. OMG there's probably not enough space here for all the accolades I would give this wonderful little café. I've eaten in four and five star restaurants all over the world and meals by some of Hawaii's finest chefs. I don't think any of them could beat this. The freshest mahi-mahi I've ever had unless it came right off the dock. Fabulous wonderful fresh greens and perfect sticky rice. The portion Was way too much for me to eat in one sitting! The ladies that run it were so sweet, which made this experience even better. Total aloha from start to finish! And the prices were beyond reasonable, especially for the meal.

I had a great experience with this company. We did not go here for pizza. We came here because it was Sunday and the shaved ice place was closed. They offered shaved ice here but I personally didn't order it. I don't think that's their speciality. We had a 11 & 9 year old with us and they were happy with them. I was happy with my Piña Colada. There is also a restroom here. Single person but definitely not a lot of places to use the restroom on this highway. A lot of them are closed to public use which is rare. Should come here for pizza sometime. They looked and smelled delicious.

Kings View is our go-to anytime we're in North Kohala, whether we're staying awhile or just passing through. We enjoy the food, sitting on the lanai with Kamehameha watching over us from across the street. The service is always friendly, food is cooked fresh and it's a great spot to stretch your legs and soak in some important local history. Pro-tip: If you're on mainland time, getting take-out or just super hungry, call your order in before you arrive, because it can take awhile to make everything to order (most locals do the call-ahead/ take-out option). The pizzas are great, sandwiches tasty and the burgers are top notch, made with local beef. It is as good as it sounds, so try the Mac'n'cheese burger if you're REALLY hungry and feeling indulgent, but be careful not to hurt yourself like my husband nearly did- haha!! Of course, you won't want to forget dessert! We love their pies, but everyone leaving with ice cream cones looked pretty satisfied too. We're usually on a low-key itinerary when we're that direction, but it is perfect post-hiking fuel. Gve it a try!

First time when we came I had thoroughly enjoyed mango icecream with real mango chunks in it. It's right across the street and also shares the space with little gift shop. We tried grilled mahi mahi with two scoops of rice and regular fries this time. I must say it's the simplest yet perfectly flavorful preparation I was looking forward to eat. Wife despises fries but she munched on them today. They were right amount of crispy and not refried. The fish was just of the grill fresh and flaky. We went all the way up to drive through rainforest and pretty ranches of Hawaii. The best part of having a plantation style places like these is you get to enjoy those sporadic rains while sitting in verandah. On our way back to Kona we stopped again this time enjoying Kona coffee and Mac nut ice cream. Few light showers and light spray on our sweaty faces in addition to the icecream worked magic. While monsoon season is ongoing in Mumbai(July), Hawaii which is so much like those western ghats of india threw us back a decade. All my monsoon dates had at least one that had icecream and rain combo :) Those who are reading review and belong to western part of India - shout out if you have ever enjoyed icecream/coffee in monsoons with your date !!

This is an old school pizza place with giant ovens, an open kitchen and staff that welcomes you like family! The pizza was genuinely incredible, perfectly cooked and made by James, the owner, an artist working his ass off and creating perfection. If you're passing through, a local or anyone in the mood for some delicious pizza, look no further!

The pepperoni pizza was excellent. The crust had a great texture with a light crisp on the outside and just the right amount of chew. The sauce was flavorful without overpowering the toppings, and the pepperoni was generous and cooked perfectly. It tasted fresh and homemade from the first bite to the last. The garlic knots were fantastic. Soft, warm, and loaded with garlic flavor, they were easily some of the best we've had. The salad was fresh, crisp, and a great complement to the meal. What really stood out was James himself. You can immediately tell that he loves what he does and takes pride in his restaurant. He was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure guests had a great experience. It is refreshing to visit a place where the owner is so invested in both the food and the people walking through the door. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, and the entire experience felt personal rather than rushed. Places like this are becoming harder to find. One thing visitors should know is that the restaurant is cash only. That wasn't a problem for us, and there is an ATM available at a nearby gas station if needed. Just come prepared so you can focus on enjoying the food. This was one of our favorite meals during our time on the Big Island. Great food, great service, and a restaurant that clearly reflects the passion of its owner. We will definitely be back on a future visit.

We went for our anniversary dinner and were so glad we decided to celebrate here. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, there are tables inside and out side on like a large open air lanai area with festival lights strewn across the ceiling and arches to view the sunset. Our server was Courtney who was very friendly and attentive. She made great recommendations! We tried everything she recommended. We started with a the Brussel Sprouts that were served in a cast iron skillet, crispy and tender with a balsamic glaze and the Caesar's Salad which was so fresh and coated with the perfect amount of dressing. We ordered the garlic Focaccia with melted cheese served with the most delicious marinara sauce for dipping. Then we ordered the Vodka Pasta with Shrimp, 4 large shrimps in a creamy tomato vodka sauce and house made fresh pasta. For dessert we had the Cannoli, the best Cannoli I ever had! The shell was crispy the filling was light, sweet and just delicious! Courtney gifted us the Cannoli for our anniversary and the entire staff signed an anniversary card for us. They also have a full bar and my husband was pleased with the whiskey selections and their reasonable prices. What an amazing dinner that delighted all of our senses. We will definitely have this place on our must go to list whenever we visit Hawaii Island.
