Fried pickles

After a morning at the beach we decided to check out this place ans happy we did! Sat on the outdoor patio. Service is leisurely paced which is fine as it's a vacation spot and it was friendly and fun! We began with some local beers - I had an Ole Brew IPA , it was good but wish it was colder! Food was great - best edamame have had anywhere. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned! Also had the fried pickles - also great - not in the slightest bit greasy and had a great crisp to them and the Kimchi nachos were really great - light and flavorful! Definitely worth checking this place out !

After finding a quick spot for dinner and drinks near our hotel, this popped up. We were met by a friendly hostess who allowed us to sit anywhere and we picked the outdoor patio area. Unfortunately the rest of the dinner wasn't that great. The server eventually came over and gave us some time to order but was not helpful in explaining much. The beers on tap are located with a QR code and I chose the hop island IPA. Unfortunately it came out flat and was not cold. There was also nothing mentioning the option to purchase a flight of up to 6 pours which I had to ask about. We ordered wings which come either in 6 or 12 and we got the lemon pepper dry rub. They were very small and we originally asked for both ranch and blue cheese but only ranch came out. The ranch was only filled a quarter way up which hardly gave us any sauce. We also ordered the buffalo blue smash burger and the all American burger protein style (lettuce wrap). The burgers were good but could have been smashed just a little bit more. The fries also had a good crunch to them. Due to the bad beer, poor customer service and prices, I old not recommend this spot unfortunately.

We were looking for something simple and found the taproom. It's in a strip mall area. The food is basic and lots of beers to choose from. My wife and I each got different versions of their Kalua Pork sandwich. We also shared the coconut shrimp and some onion rings. Also got a flight of beers. Overall a nice simple dinner

This is a great place to eat if you're looking for something close by and delicious! I was really impressed with the food for this being a taproom, but the portions were a bit too big for us and some of the veggies on the burger were not ideal. The service was great, and the staff were super attentive! Lastly, the restaurant is decorated well but the interior is a bit small and can get noisy when it gets busy! The patio has ample room for large parties if that is what you need.

Service was excellent. The gal working the front was able to help all the tables...and seat people...all while filling water, taking orders, dropping off plates. We ordered a couple different smash burgers. The burgers weren't really 'smashed' as compared to places I eat at on Oahu. Patty was dry, bun could've been better (like a brioche). Onion rings was good. Beer was good.

From Long Beach area and I pride myself on good fried pickles and who k ew I had to fly o er 2,000 miles to get the best I've had. Try them with Siracha and ranch. Also check in with Stephanie she rocks!!

On vacation, and this place was recommended to us by locals in the area. Sat outside, shaded by a tent from the heat, which made a big difference. (My sister was obsessed with a xmas Hallmark movie playing on a TV over my shoulder, and my mom kept pointing out puppy videos playing on the other TV across from me.) Our server was energetic and genuine. Even though we were the only ones sitting outside, we didn't feel as though we were forgotten, and our service was prompt. The food was fantastic! Lots of options. Everyone will be able to find something. My family ordered breaded pickles, a salad, nachos, two orders of pulled pork, two mocktails, two cocktails, and a margarita, so there is a lot of diversity on the menu. And the food was delicious! I've missed pulled pork since I've been here. My sister has a tree nut/sesame allergy and they were very cautious and aware. Everyone finished their drinks and cleaned their plate. Great recommendation!

This is bar food bar and grill type of place in the shops area of mauna lani by the fairmont orchid. The portions are big and food is good in a bar food extra fried kind of way. We ate outdoors which is basically just seating in the outdoor shopping plaza. There were big screen tvs showing a US Canada hockey game so this could be a good spot to watch 'the game' if you're into that kind of thing. Good drink/beer selection. Good service.

Ask the Community - Island Hopper Taproom

I've got a group that wants to watch the Michigan v. Washington national championship football game. How many big screen tv's are there?

Hi there, we have 50 patio seats with 3 tvs, and 50 dining room/bar seats with 6 tvs.

Well that ain't happening here. Stopped here to grab a few basics. Shelves are almost empty and selection sparse. But the kicker was the attitude of the woman behind the counter. Surly, snappy and went out of her way to be unpleasant. We all have bad days but rolling your eyes because I ask for sauce on the side instead of on top for a poke bowl? Arguing with me because I want to buy twelve Sparkling Ice drinks? Another eye roll when we added another popsicle to our items before she was finished ringing up all our items! I should have just left everything on the counter and walked out. Instead I spent $100 and got tons of attitude. Couple days later I needed more ice. Go back here? Heck no. I drove to Foodland where the folks couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Our Hawaii visit was wonderful and we experienced the Aloha Spirit every where. Just not here.

We were only $20 short of reaching the $300 spending requirement for the free gifts, which should speak to how frequently we visited and how much money we spent at this store. Despite being repeat customers, every visit was met with the same poor customer service. All of the cashiers who helped us were rude, curt, and could not even acknowledge the smallest greetings. The customer service was so unpleasant that it was not worth the experience. The food is not amazing, the prices are not great, and the only thing this place has is convenience--nothing more to offer. In one instance, I got a burger and a black milk tea with boba. I specifically told the cashier that I wanted boba, but she did not ring it up. When I inquired about the missing boba, a young employee addressed the matter with the cashier. They talked, and I said that if it cost more, I could pay for it. She rang up the boba with zero acknowledgment of her mistake. Nothing came out of her mouth. Complete silence. In another instance, I asked a cashier what the gifts were if we reached $300 in purchases. She did not say a word. She simply reached for a card with images of the gifts and placed it on the opposite side of where I was standing. She said nothing. I asked if those were the gifts, and she said yes. She then pulled out her phone while I looked at the card, and I simply said, "Okay, thank you." These are just a few examples of the many disturbing encounters we had with all of the cashiers. While on vacation in a tourist area, this is not the type of conduct or customer service one expects to experience. It was disturbing, and we dreaded going there despite the convenience.

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

Waimea Butcher Shop is a good place to try them, (it is also a restaurant)! You will be served with warm & friendly service. I found out that I enjoy the taste of fresh grass fed beef, while my family did not. They did not think the meat was fatty or tender enough. This is because grass fed cows are much leaner and don't have their feed come to them. Anyway, I enjoyed my dining experience here and if you're curious, you should definitely come and give it a try! If you're inclined and know how to cook a mean steak, and staying somewhere with a kitchen, grab your supplies here.
