Marifredo...subbed out sausage for extra mushrooms - Full size

Consistently excellent every time! Love eating here when passing thru waimea or for special date night. Beautiful and cozy indoor decor, comfortable seating and very friendly staff. Highly recommend! I want to try every menu item!!

Glad we found this local Italian spot! Freshly made pasta was fantastic, shrimp was perfectly cooked, sauces were good but a bit under-salted. The calamari appetizer was just ok, sticks not the typical rings & tentacles. They were a bit understaffed with only one waitress, but once we got our order in the food came promptly.

Fine dining at its best here in Waimea, Big Island. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here with my son and his family. Started off with their house salad with strawberry vinaigrette dressing. Our entrees were pasta dishes of Fresco Verde with Ahi, Carbonara, and Bolognese for the adults; and Meat Lovers pizza and Keiki pepperoni pizza for the kids. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and generous. Overall service was excellent and the atmosphere very cozy. If you reside in Waimea, visiting, or just passing through, I highly recommend this hole in the wall place if you love Italian cuisine.

Pesto mozzarella bread - kinda soggy

Sign outside says fine-dining but the service and food doesn't really feel like fine-dining. We started with the pesto mozzarella bread - flavor was good but the bread was soft. Think this would be better if crispy. Half portion of the pasta is more than enough, portion wise. The marifredo sauce is good but watery - would prefer a thicker texture so it can stick to the pasta better. The pasta itself was tasty and had a nice chew. Meat lovers pizza was good and a 10 inch is perfect for 1 person. Crust was flavorful and cheesy. Service was okay but the ambiance definitely felt more casual than fine dining. Our entrees took a long time to arrive after the appetizer, even though there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant at the time. I also felt a little weirded out by a comment our server made when I ordered the half portion of the pasta. She said, "oooooh, saving room for dessert?" I'm sure she didn't intend that in a negative way and maybe was just trying to small talk, but it did made me feel judged and uncomfortable. I didn't think our order overall was "too little" or "too cheap" so I thought that comment was weird.

This restaurant serves very delectable, savory dishes and really fresh Waimea greens and tomatoes. Today we dined in at lunch and we were greeted by a very friendly waitress. The restaurant is quiet with some soft background music. Started with the Chicken Caesar bruschetta appetizer which we understand is the top choice. It was 4 perfectly crisp pieces of bruschetta with savory dressing of red wine vinaigrette, arugula, diced tomatoes, and thinly sliced chicken. It was so incredibly delicious ! You definitely have to order this. For lunch I ordered the 1/2 sizes caprese salad with added extra Waimea greens which consisted of arugula, I believe Bibb lettuce, spinach, and maybe romaine? It was so good, fresh, and hydrating. My greens were topped with fresh slices of tomatoes and mozzarella, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette dressing! It was indeed delicious.

The lamb sliders with tomato jam and fries or a small salad are amazing! The only negative is finding a parking space in the busy lot.

The Absolute Best Meal on the Island--A Masterclass in Food & Service!…read moreIf I could give Seafood Bar & Grill 10 stars, I would. This wasn't just a dinner; it was our absolute favorite meal of the entire trip. We didn't even have a special occasion to celebrate--we just had a phenomenal experience here in the past and couldn't wait to return. They somehow managed to exceed every expectation. From the second we walked in, we were blown away. We loved the Tiki Bar, everyone is family when you walk in, history covering the walls ambiafamily-friendly; ev Seafood We were greeted by Dave Yurtin, the owner, who set up a fabulous table for us inside. But here is the kicker: Dave actually remembered us from our first visit two years ago! Talk about a total legend. We couldn't believe his memory--that is next-level hospitality. Our server, Ryan, provided spectacular, world-class service. He didn't write a single part of our big order down and got absolutely everything 100% right. He was attentive, fast, and incredibly sharp--he even remembered at the end that my mother-in-law had asked for onion rings once she was finished, before changing her mind. Incredible! Now, let's talk about the food and drinks because WOW. We started with the drinks, and these were hands-down the absolute best Mai Tais we have had on the island. Every single dish that hit the table was a home run: - Escargot: Wow, wow, wow, wow! Absolutely phenomenal. The pesto and cheese with the garlic bread? Unreal. - Seafood Quesadilla & Coconut Shrimp: Perfectly executed and delicious. - Braised Short Ribs: Out of this world. Fall-off-the-bone tender. - Pineapple Macnut Slaw: Insane flavor. Do not skip this! - Garlic Bread: Spectacular and perfect for soaking up every last bit of flavor. - Fish Linguine: A rich, perfectly balanced cream sauce packed with different types of fresh fish. Somehow, we saved room for dessert and tried FOUR different ones: the Key Lime Pie was unbelievable, the Lilikoi Pie and Kona Coffee Pie were spectacular, and the NY Cheesecake with Lilikoi Sauce was the perfect grand finale. Between Dave's legendary memory, Ryan's flawless service, and a kitchen that doesn't miss, Seafood Bar & Grill is an absolute must-visit. We will be talking about this meal until our next visit! Anything with vegetables had sooooo much more vegetables to protein, and for example my mother in laws shrimp with broccoli was super sad. In the whole ala carte item of $19-$21 were a Manini 8 small shrimps swimming in sauce and broccoli. Same went for the chicken and mixed vegetables! The dried chicken with chilis had 8-9 pieces of chicken for the whole order ala carte. The only thing worth the price was the general tsao chicken, which tasted just like the orange chicken with a little tiny zing we got the day before. We gave this place two tries only for lack of options in the Waikoloa Village area. If this were on Oahu, nobody would come here. The food all taste the same and the protein is almost non existent in pricey ala carte items.
