WOW! From the variety of specialty drinks to their own roasted coffee, I have never had a bad drink. As a specialty coffee shop, they are easily one of the top shops in Virginia! The staff knows exactly what to suggest, and how to make it! For anyone looking to experience specialty coffee, I suggest trying a pour over (they have a variety of regions and processes to pick from) or aeropress. For anyone looking to stick to sweet and simple, their lattes are incredible! Homemade syrups, and almond milk! Ask any questions about coffee, and they have you covered! Couldn't find a better shop!

Third Wave has excellent coffee, reasonable prices, a good space for working or meeting friends, & solid internet access. The pre-made muffin/pastry options are just okay, but I visited for the coffee & productive space to sit & enjoy it - simplicity & quality wins in my book.

Passing through on our way to Charlotte and found this gem! Oat milk mocha is on point and also bought a gluten-free blueberry muffin! So happy we found this place! Baristas are super nice too!

Chill atmosphere. Good coffee and very kind workers. Not a huge space so seating may be difficult but want bad for us on a Friday afternoon.

Just left Third Wave. Pros - staff are very nice. Good atmosphere. Cons - 25 minutes for one drink (which they admittedly made cold instead of hot; I took it anyways). Middle aged woman working the register (the only person working it) left the register for almost 20 minutes while the line of customers lengthened.. I left and she still hasn't returned. Cinnamon rolls are extremely dry. Do not recommend the cinnamon roll if you're expecting an actual cinnamon roll. In conclusion - this place has all the right bones to be successful, but really needs to hire more people.

I wasn't sure about this coffee shop because their website made it seem like they only offered bagged ground coffee; however, I knew that they at least offered lattes by looking at their Yelp reviews. I stopped in not expecting too much. As I entered, I thought I must have teleported to Cambridge, Massachusetts due to the stereotypical hipster/college town café vibe. I felt too old to be in there even at the age of 24. Despite their wannabe urban minimalist/artsy decor and acoustic indie music choice, there was no denying the excellent quality of the mocha I ordered. I like to order mochas as my first drink so I can easily compare different coffee places in town, and this was by far the best mocha I've had in Lynchburg. It was sweet (but not overly sweet like when I can tell they use chocolate syrup) with rich-full bodied espresso that came together very smooth and creamy. Though I can't see myself ever sticking around to hang out in this atmosphere (they try way too hard, and it is a bit over the top), I sure will be back for some great coffee to-go!

The muse and third Wave are definitely my go to. They are just a few miles apart and I live them both equally. They have unique seasonal drinks, I think when I was there they had a butterscotch coffee and another one that was coffee and soda infused. It was amazing I took the whole team out for some bonding and it was a perfect place for that. Great service , amazing lighting and great location. The coffee is good and they really want to make sure you enjoy your coffee , I highly recommend this place

The real deal for those who are serious about their coffee. Roasted in house weekly. The aroma from the open bag of beans is intoxicating. Flavor of coffees are deep and flavorful like a fine wine. Can't wait until the shop opens again to customers as it is a great place to work. Order lattes or roasted coffee for free local delivery or pick up. A wonderful addition to the Forest area.

To paraphrase the Beatles, there's nothing I can say that can't be said, but man do I love, love, love this place. Excellent whole bean offerings, roasted to perfection by expert roasters. Delicious hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks that simply can't be replicated anywhere nearby--including, sadly, in my home town of Staunton (hey, Trager Brothers! There's a huge opportunity for expansion in the Queen City!). And top all that off with sublime, informed, and incredibly friendly front of house staff. Yeah, it's a little hard to find, but anything worth having is worth looking for. And in this age of googling and Apple mapping and whatnot, there's no excuse for not availing yourself to the BEST coffee in central Virginia. Y'all who might have read some of my other reviews will know: I usually have a minor nit to pick with even my five stars. Not so with the Brothers Trager, fam. Enter their shop and be greeted by the heavenly aroma of roasting coffee, the whir of a burr grinder, the quiet scream of a steaming wand, the genuine smile and friendly greeting of the barista. Now, you tell me: how could you possibly find a quibble worth the scribble?

If you're looking for a big ole store or facility that screams coffee shop, you're looking wrong. It's in in the far end of a building off to your right when you follow the signs. (seriously the signs are key here). When you enter the main building, you're hit with the awesome aroma of coffee... just head to the end and walk in the door. It's a cool shop that Is totally worth visiting. If anything, it's b/c of the high quality coffee they offer. There really isn't much to do here other than pickup great coffee but I guess I can't think of what else you'd really need. :) Cheers! Food Taste: great coffee!
