    Sushi deluxe b

Small little shop where there are mix of booths and small 2 people tables in the middle. Came here on a Saturday evening at around 6 and place was pretty empty. Tried salmon trio combo and sushi deluxe b. Both were decent. Nothing crazy special. Rice was a small ball for the nigiri. Parking: few spots in front of patio and street parking in front of the restaurant. Also can park on the residential streets. Overall decent restaurant if you're in the neighborhood!

Always consistent in service, and their food is always good. We went on the Friday, and we ordered their sashimi, but surprised it came on a boat. Really good quality of fish, and was delicious.

A truly great sushi restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere! The restaurant is on the small side, with some booths and tables. The sushi was flavourful, as well as the salad. Service was very fast and we will be back for more delicious eats!

Haven't tried this place in years. Tried take out from this neighborhood sushi restaurant. We had kids salmon teriyaki, and salmon sushi combo. The combo was nicely done and a good size. Kids meal was fine. They are fast and efficient and you can even order by text! Restaurant seems nice and cozy. Will try their other items next time. Overall Low key comfy Japanese restaurant in the area.

What an amazing find! Went here on a whim as it was the nearest Japanese restaurant. Super glad we did. I almost don't want to review it to keep it a secret. Amazing service, décor, presentation and prices. Made it to my Toronto favourite restaurant list.

    Good food and service.

Good food, quick service! Little tight space. Had to wait a bit to get table. Service was good. Food came in faster than expected. Definitely going back again.

The sashmi part of the Kintako Platter for 4.

Several years ago i visited Kintako and the food and service was so good that it held the honor of being my very first yelp review. Yesterday I revisted this restaurant but this time with my wife and kids and I'm happy to say the food and service was still terrific as ever. They nicely provided crayons and a coloring sheet to entertain the kids. We ordered the Kintako Platter for 4 and the presentation of the Salmon on Fire roll, the Volcano roll and the sashimi was spectacular. The quality of the fish was also very good. We were also pleasantly surprised by the "extras" that we got. They served us steamed edamame to start and a noodle broth soup as almost like an "amuse bouche". Then there was the traditional salad and miso soup. All-in-all, the quantity of food was really great and even though this isn't an AYCE, i would much rather go here for the quality and variety of sushi. With regards to the service, the waitress was extremely attentive to our needs given that we had four kids in our group. Great job Kintako! Glad to see that after all these years, you haven't sacrified on your quality and service.

Chicken karage - only edible food from my order but tasted like it came out of a dogs ass.

Was in the Leaside area, starving, craving sushi and turned to Yelp to provide recommendations. Came across Kintako which had 4.5 stars thought I'd give it a try. I the Ordered tako wasabi, a spicy tuna roll and karage for take out. At first look, the tuna was really red and almost looked like spam. I knew this was not going to be good and I was right. I couldn't finish it. Next thing I tried was the tako wasabi - first bite and I almost puked. The squid tasted rancid. Didn't finish it and tossed it. Chicken karage was about the only edible thing but it was bland, had no seasoning, was not crispy at all. This was not sushi in my opinion but sushit. Don't know how this place has 4.5 stars... My actual rating on food alone is 0.08

Had the Salmon Trio combo along with their crunchy shrimp tempura and it was mouthwatering. Each bite satisfied my salmon craving and I highly recommend getting it! I ended the course with a decadent black sesame flavored ice cream (have someone you're dining with check your lips after haha ). New favorite sushi restaurant as it had a cozy atmosphere with a great tasting selection

Service and food is amazing! Servers are super friendly, easy to talk to, and gave recommendations to our orders. We ordered the Laird platter with the volcano roll. We first got noodles for appetizer, then came salad and a big bowl of Edamame for the table to share. (Most places Edamame is a side order) When our sushi boat came we also got miso soup...It was like a four course meal, we were surprised how the appetizers kept coming. Different servers would come around refilling our tea and water once our cups are about a third full. We thought the Laird platter came with dessert like some other platter options on the menu, but this one didn't. However the waiter still offered us ice cream for free, options of green tea, vanilla, and black sesame. They also added extra touches to the ice cream scoop, chocolate drizzle and (granola?) flakes - extra brownie points! Our friends and I all left super happy after the meal, knowing we've found our go-to sushi place in the neighborhood :) Definitely recommend.

Came here again recently for takeout (during covid times); great customer service as usual; some of the owner's children were playing on the floor in a makeshift play area since the resto is closed for dine-in, so it was nice to see the family affair. Got a sushi/sashimi/roll tray for $40. Twas pretty good, good sashimi cuts. Sushi rolls were standard.

We ordered the sushi, sashimi, and maki platter (M). Great service- I walked in to pick up the order with ease. They provided enough condiments for our platter. The owner was super nice and threw in some complimentary sobs noodles. The sushi was not too fresh as I realized it was sitting outside for a while. The sashimi pieces were too thick in my opinion- I would have enjoyed it more if it was cut a bit more thin. It felt like eating a piece of fish verses a piece of sashimi. The maki rolls were superb! I like how they didn't over load the maki rolls with rice.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

We got a bunch of dishes to share and overall liked most things but some things (like the oyster) unfortunately didn't hit as well. Wagyu - thin slices but very tender and very flavorful with the cheese - surprised by how well the flavor combo worked out. Tofu - easily one of my fave agedashi tofu. Huge tofu slices with very chewy outer texture, a bit gelatinous . Really went well with the sauce and toppings Carbonara - nice chewy texture to the udon, not too soft and not too firm. The sauce was nice and creamy. Not as truffley as I thought it would be, wish it was a little more but it was still pretty good Oyster - least favorite of all the dishes we got today. It was a bit sour and the cheese felt like it didn't really help the flavor profile of the oysters. It was super oily from the cheese, felt like it was drowning in cheese/oil flavor Cod - it looks good but something is lacking, maybe in taste? Feel like maybe the marinade did not penetrate enough. The texture is still nice and soft , with a crisp skin . Also was a bit too oily for our liking, compared to other miso cod we have had. It was also a relatively smaller piece of cod. Overall, the appetizers were really good! The oyster and cod were a bit disappointing. Would come back for the carbonara and the other appetizers mentioned though!
