    Enchiladas poblanas
    Ann P.

Sunday night out trying a new spot. This was a great find! I had the enchiladas poblanos in green sauce. Portions are generous and delicious. My son had the chicken nachos, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Hubby had an entree that looked like pork chops on a tomato and pepper sauce. He said it was great! Definitely will be coming back here.

Today I went in to eat with my boyfriend around 9ish pm, in the website it says it closes at 11pm. As i walked in i asked if they were still open and I was told by a server they were. Seconds after i sat they asked for my order and i informed them i was not ready then seconds after another server comes and asked for our order, i was then pressure to give her our drink order. Then once's drinks came out I placed our food order. Then while we were eating we were being stared at by two servers the whole time while they were sweeping and mopping, we also had a server ask if she can remove my boyfriends plate as he was in the process of taking his last bite, and had our check being placed on our table as i still had 1/4th of my food left. Also, 20 minutes of us being there a party of 2 came in and they were told the kitchen was closed (which i would of loved for them to tell me that instead of rush me out). This made me feel rushed, uncomfortable, and overall to not enjoy my food. This is such an unprofessional restaurant and as a server myself I WOULD NEVER give that type of treatment to no customer. It takes a lot to get a server mad and this had me beyond upset/ mad. I would 1000% preferred them to have told me they were closing and i would've understood and happily left, instead of telling me they were open to then proceeded to rush me out. Also, on top of that an 18% tip was included when services was HORRIBLE and our time only consisted of us being rushed. I then expressed how upset i was after and let them know i will be talking to a manger tomorrow and leaving a review today. Will never go again and hope the servers are told to do better.

Tamarind Jarrtitos soda with complimentary chips & salsa

Kiosko is Spanish for kiosk. A funny name for a restaurant but I decided to give them a try. I'm glad that I did. This restaurant serves authentic Mexican food. It is not "Americanized" like some places. I dined after traveling from a business conference. I was greeted and seated right away. I ordered a tamarind Jarritos soda. The waitress brought my soda along with complimentary chips & salsa. Nice start for the meal. I ordered the chicken enchiladas poblanos. Delicious and the real deal. Staff was professional and attentive. The place was a little loud. A solid 4.5 rating.

So sad. Worst TACO SALAD I have ever ordered.

So sad. Worst TACO SALAD I have ever ordered. It's especially abysmal coming from a Mexican restaurant. The picture is taken sans the raw onion, and raw green pepper I threw away hoping to make it salvageable. No bueno. The chicken had no seasoning and was practically cooked to jerky status. We WERE repeat customers until tonight, this would be the second time I asked for salsa verde and the second time I did not receive it. Today I was hoping to use it as a dressing, but maybe they new I wouldn't be eating the horrible diner grade salad. I actually feel bad even saying diner grade, because I've had WAY better taco salads at several diners over the years. I'm also pretty sure it was supposed to have cheese, but naw, just an oily shell and balsamic dressing...I mean, really? We also ordered the Kiosko nachos which were decent, but nothing near what I expected for $16. Chicken was the same as the chicken from the salad, I barely saw refried beans, and the jalapeños were from a can. On a positive note the chorizo was pretty tasty. The side of beans and rice looked as bland as it tasted (also the rice was way over cooked). Oh well to that too, I didn't expect a lot from the rice and beans since I've had them before and know they weren't nearly as flavorful as Salsa Picante's rice and beans, but they were extra bland and over cooked today. My husband's burrito enchilada was solid as it has been in previous orders. The last 2 times we ordered I got the chicken chimichanga and that was great and very flavorful, but I'm not sure if that's enough to bring me back again. So if your there already and wondering what to order go for the chicken chimichanga or maybe the burrito and call it a day.

    Tacos de Birria with Consome

I had lunch at this place 2 days ago with my friends. We both ordered the birria tacos with consome. Food was absolutely impeccable that we had to go back for seconds a few days after. The meat was tender and juicy and filled with flavor and the consome was tasty and filling. All in all, this was a great experience and amazing food.

We didn't know what to expect at this place just pictures from Google and Yelp. So we went early…read moresince they don't take reservations, boy oh boy even at 5 PM, The place was already packed. They don't have enough parking spots so you park on the lawn on the side of the driveway. I really don't like Mexican restaurants but the guacamole and the appetizers were on point and so were the dishes. I can say that this is the first Mexican restaurant that we really liked so that means we are definitely coming back again. The place can get loud so get ready for that experience. It's not your fine dining formal place, you're here to party Mexican style.

The surrounds were a clear 5 stars. The tiered outdoor seating and view of the gardens and…read morereservoir were undeniably lovely. However, tables were wobbly and sticky throughout (which one could easily ignore underneath a white tablecloth, such as those being used for a special event on the lawn). Such things don't bother us all that much, but we did note the dramatic contrast of such kingly natural surrounds against the humble interior decor. Overall decor: 4. Family friendliness earns an easy 5 stars. We saw plenty of little kids (there's a bit of space to run around on the lawn), medium sized kids, and a few teenagers, to our great pleasure. Inclusive spaces like this make me feel at home. We have been told in the past that at less busy times, we could probably dine with the pup at an outdoor table. (Given the uncertainty, we've never tried, heading instead to confirmed dog-friendly places.) Service: 3 stars. It took quite a while for anyone to greet us outdoors or indoors. After waiting for some time indoors, a languidly indifferent hostess sent us back outdoors to wait. That same languidly indifferent hostess also made a number of attempts to upsell us on various things (e.g. more cocktails, bottled water, more appetizers, desserts) in ways that felt pushy and unpleasant. That said, we saw so many runners scurrying around at top speed to serve food and drinks. They really worked their tails off and deserve recognition. The food was 2 stars, with heavy reliance on pre-made, frozen ingredients. What we tried of it was just utterly mediocre. Frozen vegetables were boiled, then briefly sauteed with oil and salt. When it's the middle of summer, there's just no excuse for this. Seafood had the fishy nose and tough texture of previously frozen seafood. Enchiladas were not offensively bad, just very processed Mexican American fare, made with sauces from a jar and of course pre-fab tortillas. The prices would be excellent if one considered only the quantity of the food, not the quality. The latter is roughly equivalent to what you'd find at a diner. Note that there are no prices listed on the drinks menu. That might dissuade some from ordering drinks (or as many drinks) as they otherwise might. The one we ordered was commendably strong, though made with bottom shelf liquor, and to our happy surprise not too sweet. It was only $12. I recognize the beauty and appeal of the surrounds. You'll certainly want to sit outside if weather permits. And I deeply appreciate the family friendly vibes. But... the food is a pretty big ding for us. There is truly excellent Mexican / Latin American food to be had nowadays, even in nearby Danbury. This is not it.
