I really love the Red Dragon roll and the Chicken Tempura roll. I order both every time and then I switch up my 3rd/4th roll. I'm giving this place low stars because the service is very important to me and this place seemed to have communication issues to start with. The waitress might've been new or if not new- had her mind on something else b/c she seemed vague and uninterested. I had the hibachi grilled vegetable plate and I'd give the food 4 stars. The man preparing it was funny but still, lacked enthusiasm, like the waitress. The soda was flat. They screwed up the ice-cream order at the end and when we tried getting it rectified, (and the flat soda problem) ROMAN, someone who worked there, was very rude. He couldn't even give us eye contact. He wanted to hurry away without even getting the order correct which made it so we had to track him down twice. I feel that restaurants are responsible in making sure their diners feel special or even a bit appreciated for choosing their restaurant when there are so many to choose from. I am surprised at the poor reviews of this place. I come here fairly regularly, since I live 3 blocks away. If you're looking for fresh, quality Japanese food, this place is it -- any better and you'd probably have to go down to St Marks place in Manhattan. The sushi is fresh and doesn't have any of the tell tale traces of being frozen. The chicken and pork are also breaded and cooked nicely -- crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Service is good and prompt. Ambience is meh, but I take my wife here multiple times and she likes it. She prefers it to all the run down diners in the area. Me and my boyfriend love this place, we feel so lucky that we live walking distance. Sushi always tastes extremely fresh, rolls are always so neat and skillfully prepared. If you can take advantage of the lunch special it's well worth it. We love to sit in and have lunch or dinner because the dark wooden tables are lovely and it's a peaceful atmosphere. So I went here for dinner and ordered a roll and an appetizer. If i could give this place half a star i would. I ordered hot wings and a yushi dream roll (with cucumber insted of avocado). The wings were soggy and not hot, mild at best. The roll was the worst I've ever had. The king crab meat was imitation and hard. The roll was falling apart due to it being poorly rolled. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the Bronx. The food was amazing! Honestly not one complaint, the staff were attentive, the food came on time, and it was a nice chill atmosphere. If you're ever in the Morris Park area of the Bronx and are in the mood for some lunch, head here. I ordered a chicken bento box. Came with fried rice, sushi, dumplings, veggies. It was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and pretty. The service was quick. I ordered two maki rolls; the Spicy Girl and the Special Rainbow roll. The presentation was great. The flavor was just ok. I guess the best way to describe it was bland tasting. I've had better. I even wanted to try a dessert and went for the Ice Cream Tempura. They had a nice assortment of ice creams to choose from. Again, if it wasn't that I had ordered the strawberry ice cream, I wouldn't have known. Even the ice cream was bland! There is no way people who said this place has fresh fish, actually know what fresh fish is. My mackerel was brown! my salmon had that limp wet horrid slimy consistency. All of my cuts were hacked. The food is great my only gripe is that, I asked for crabmeat on my green salad and the woman processing the orders tried to charge me $3 extra just for that and I was getting 2 salads so ultimately $6. When you're not in the mood to drive to Sushi Palace or Sushi Castle for the all-you-can eat special, or just looking for Sushi while staying local, Kiraku is the best option. Kiraku is my go-to spot in the Bronx for sushi. I love going there with my family to relax after a long day at work, or to celebrate a birthday! I've been here many times. They recently re-opened in the same location but half the space so no more Hibachi. Their sushi, soups (try Curry Pork Udon noodle soup), noodle dishes, teriyaki, desserts are all really good! I really like this place and I am so glad to have a good non-Italian option in the area. Please support them as we can't afford to lose more dining options in Williamsbridge/Morris Park. I have never had a bad experience at Kiraku and their prices are pretty decent, considering their corner on the market for Morris Park. I enjoy the Sushi Deluxe for lunch or dinner and the fish has generally been fresh. The service is variable: sometimes it's quick, sometimes you wait 5 minutes in an empty restaurant for a water refill. I've started doing take-out from Kiraku...but they have been renovating in order to open up an area for hibachi tables. I will definitely be in line to try out this new feature...I mean, who can resist Japanese chefs cooking in front of you and (hopefully) doing nifty knife tricks!? read more

I have never visited the restaurant but get delivery at least 3-4 times a month... The delivery men are very nice and come up to your apartment which they are supposed to do. I usually get the lunch special and they should seriously add the shrimp tempura to that. The hibachi dinner meal is really good, and you get what you pay for. I work close by this place and I love sushi in general, and even though they are "ok" I kept ordering because the delivery guys were really kind and nice. I called to placed a delivery order and this very unpleasant woman named Jenny got upset because I change my mind about my order. She was really rude on the phone and when I asked to talk to the manager she was like the "manager is not here", of course how convenient... And after she said "Just come over, I'm here and my name is Jenny" like treating me...really? for changing my order from 3 rolls to 2 rolls? Come on! you don't treat customers like that. And what's wrong with changing your mind? Customer is always right! I was ordering often but now I won't call anymore. This is So upsetting. I'm paying for your services, at least be a little nice or pretend you are having a day woman!. So unfortunate that there's some people that think customer are not valuable, and then they're wondering why they are running out of business. We walked from Bedford Park to this sushi restaurant and it was garbage. From the absolutely atrocious and barely attentive waitress to the bland and forgettable Loveboat (horrendously overpriced at $39.95, it's one of the worst boats we ever had) to the typically bad carrot-ginger dressed salad this place was just atrocious. We even asked for rice instead of soup and salad, and I was informed that it would cost extra. I said okay, just replace them and get us both rice, white rice for my girlfriend and brown for me. They charged us $2.50 for the brown rice, never served my girlfriend rice and still gave us the soup and salad. I take it this wasn't the waitress's first day on staff, but if the food was better I wouldn't have minded. Mark my words, we will never go back. I pine for sushi in my neighborhood and am frustrated that we don't have any closer options, but this doesn't soften the situation. I'd rather go to Umai, which has been excellent, but I think they're away on vacation. Just avoid this place, and maybe it'll go away. read more

A small place you can literally drive by and miss but surprisingly very well kept inside. Service was great and the food has never let me down. Great presentation. Great taste. Good timing with serving and seemingly cleanly. Nice environment for a small place as well.
