There office staff is rude. I called them multiple times almost a year ago asking if I still owed any money towards my act. They said no I was completely paid up and that's why I wasn't receiving the blue envelope bills in the mail. Then nearly a year later they said I owe 300 which bothered me get this then they said I owed a 1000 because they had accidentally charged someone else's card for my payments. Mind you my child's braces were removed close to 4 years earlier than they said in the treatment plan. Never was I given an explanation why they were removed nearly 4 years early. You would think that the early removal would deduct from original plan price. Nope the $7000 plus price didn't change even my child on had a 4 year early removal. That makes zero sense. The price was based on the amount of check ups she was gonna have. Honestly the staff is so rude in the office and even ruder when I see them in the community. Why were my child's braces removed nearly 4 yrs early and why didn't that change the price and why should I be responsible for their billing mistakes. This place is referred thru medi-cal so we are poor and can't afford health insurance but somehow we have to foot the bill for only a year of service. Do not go here. They will be dishonest, make mistakes and treat you badly! read more

Dr. Kirk is the man behind this smile. I used to have a gap so big that you could fit a number 2 pencil in it but now it's history! I came here because my coworker was really happy with her children's' teeth. I didn't get braces until college, but Dr. Kirk was really cool about making sure my teeth looked great without robbing me of my tuition. He gave me a bunch of options, and I chose to just get upper braces. I can't say getting them tightened was the most comfortable experience, but everyone in the office made the experience tolerable. Dr. Kirk has been my 15 yr old son's orthodontist for the last 3 years. My son has a congenital condition where his adult incisors would not drop down properly. Dr Kirk has done a fantastic job treating this condition and building a wonderful smile for him. Yesterday, though, Dr. Kirk went above and beyond the call of duty. My daughter had one front tooth knocked out and another cracked in half playing street hockey. Dr. Kirk dropped what he was doing and met us at his office at 8:30 am on a Saturday morning. He re - implanted the tooth and saved her smile which is everything to a 13 yr old budding actress. He was calm and caring the whole time which made the difference in that very traumatic situation. Would not recommend, was treated fine by Dr. Kirk until I mentioned that I had a partner, then suddenly his demeanor changed completely. I hadn't run into something like that in the Bay Area, it left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. Later on, we found out he donated $1,000 to proposition 8 to ban gay marriage a couple years ago, google it. Not a gay-friendly business, and it certainly shows in their office and professionalism. Dr. Kirk is a great orthodontist, kind, friendly, and honest. His price for braces is lower than others in town too, because he doesn't waste your money on expensive video games for the office or lots of advertising and marketing. The best part is that a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning my eight-year-old daughter ran into a picnic table and knocked her front tooth very loose (a new grown up tooth). After none of the dentists I called would call me back, even our own, we had the idea of trying Dr. Kirk, and he said he would meet us at his office in 20 minutes! He is easy to talk with and very compassionate. His staff was professional and friendly. His rates were reasonable and affordable in comparison with other orthodontists in the area. Dr. Kirk is awesome. He saved me from terrible headaches and jaw pain associated with my bite. Also, he saved me SO much money by slowly moving my back molar into the "hole" where I had a tooth pulled. Now, instead of a bridge that I was supposed get (super $$$), my other tooth has closed the gap! This treatment was such a relief! I love how Dr. Kirk always makes me feel relaxed. Dr. Kirk managed to treat my son's cross bite with a retainer rather than "phase I braces" recommended by another other popular ortho in the area. A great savings to our family. Additionally, as the process was complete sooner than expected, he will now use the remaining time of our payments (one year total) to fashion another retainer to expand the lower jaw. And the second retainer at no cost to us. Now, I know he can't go handing out retainers for free all the time but we certainly appreciate this kind gesture and will definitely be returning to him for the (phase 2) brace phase in a few years. read more
