Don't buy from these guys! . I've purchased both ATV and UTV in the past along with accessories over the years. They used to be a great family business. Well not anymore. I recently called to have them service my Kawasaki brute force and the refused to take it in and referred me to another shop. They said because it was an older model they will not take it in and that they have a lot of trouble sourcing parts. How would they know without even checking? I found all the parts on line in at numerous vendors. Their core business philosophy had changed. They are more intent on sales and not on servicing what they've sold. Their service dept. Used to be great, approachable and helpful this is not the case in recently. If you buy from them just know that they may not be there to help you when you need to fix your unit. read more

I get that this is a place of motorcycles. And that a place of business definitely has a preference of brands that they also prefer to work on. I came here after a safety inspection and needed my plate attached to my moped. I walked up, offered to pay, dude was sitting behind desk, brought my moped over to service area, he walked out with bolts in hand, and then it didn't happen. He looked at my moped and said he didn't feel comfortable working on Chinese mopeds. I explained it wasn't anything to do with mechanics and just attaching a license plate to a plastic bit on the back. He then said, "Well, maybe if it was something I was into." Then handed me the bolts as a good luck severance I suppose. But I can't help but think that customer service for something like this could have been handled with more professionalism. I would think small town businesses would at least try to gain clients and community despite brand loyalty. read more

Ive had excellent experiences with the sales staff My review is about the garage. I bought a new 2019 KTM 690 SMCR there a couple years ago. The clutch started slipping soon thereafter. I wasn't knowledgeable enough to know to report it within the warranty period. After it started getting really bad, I took the bike in and asked for them to "inspect my clutch." I told them I had reverse bled the system already...I had recently changed the oil. Once I got my bike back, they said they bled the system and changed the oil. Charged me like $300 to do what I already did. I asked "did you look at the clutch/clutch plates" "No." "......." read more

Phenomenal experience with getting my safety check done - wish they could take care of my spyder with the oil change and maintenance.

I couldn't find the bike I wanted on Oahu. Just when I was going to settle on one here I thought, "maybe another island would ship over here." I called them up and they were like "yeah, we do that all the time." They had the one I wanted on the way and helped me work out all the details in the meantime. The whole process was painless and everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful. They got it shipped over pretty quickly through Young Brothers. The bike was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. I was able to unpack it, cut off the zip tied key, attach the mirrors and ride it out of the harbor. I received the spare key and paperwork by mail just ahead of its arrival to Oahu. A couple weeks later they sent over the plate, registration, and safety check docs. I live on Oahu and just purchased a motorcycle from Kiser. These guys are the best! Kris, in sales, handled my transaction with attention to detail from the first phone call and deposit to final delivery, which was important to me given that there was a long wait from the manufacturer to get my particular model in stock. Kris kept me informed throughout the entire four-month process. He was very friendly and prompt with emails and phone calls. Kiser's price on the bike was lower than I could find in Honolulu, and they didn't gouge me on shipping either. Once we finalized the sale over the phone on a Thursday, they prepped the bike, tied it down to a pallet, and meticulously wrapped it up with about 10 layers of stretch wrap. I would have to agree with earlier reviewers in that it's the best place to buy a motorcycle especially if you live on Oahu. After a few negative experiences with various J&N-owned fronts, I reached out to Kris and the team here for help in buying a bike. Before doing so, I thought that buying a motorcycle was just an aggravating process filled with people who don't care because we're so limited in Hawaii. Kris and the team at Kiser changed all of that. My only regret in this whole process is that I wish I had contacted them sooner! It would have definitely saved me a whole bunch of heartburn, and I would have had my CB300R a whole lot faster. Kris and his team were responsive to email correspondence, and talked me through the whole process from the deposit, to payment, and shipping pick up. Everything was done, and done well. I've never dealt with Young Brothers before, but Kris was helpful even in my dealings with them. Have to say... the shipping was very reasonably priced too. I love the bike, and I am a super fan of Kiser. I would certainly buy my next motorcycle from them, and you should too. read more

Make sure to get a quote. Its a complete rip off. Was charged $145 for basic oil change for CBR 1000RR. They couldn't even fill lil bit of air in my tires. I will never take my bike to them ever again. I'll drive to Hilo for some honesty at another bike dealership. Called afterwards, oil change should not be over $100. Even other dealers said I got ripped off. Be careful when dealing w them. In my experience, don't trust them!! read more

Bummed! Went in there an no one greeted me. Counter attendant was with the only other customer in the entire store. Once customer left, staff never addressed my existence or asked if I needed help. I walked through store and passed 3 other employees who never greeted me. In the parking lot 2 workers on forklift seemed irritated that they had to wait for me to reverse and drive out of the parking lot. Worse service and treatment of a Big Island resident. read more

30 year resident of Kona.  Watched entire ascent of Kiser business.  Current reviews seem to reflect only praise for mechanic "Chris" which certainly is believable.  They have had a history of good mechanics of which the now retired Greg Mesiniac led the charts.  OK! But my experience is repeated bad service at the parts counter.  I get the impression that they are doing me a big favor allowing me their attention at all. If a part is ordered, the projected 7-10 delivery days (always business days so why not just say up to 14 days) has never been met in my personal experience.  This last time, after 14 days and my call to them, I was told the part was on back order and would just be another week or so if that can be believed.  If they are going to charge top dollar (which they absolutely do) and give "I could give a crap" follow-up, I strongly suggest going on-line to bypass these "clickish cool guys"  in favor of a much cheaper and just as fast alternative.  Lots of indiscriminate money over here so they won't be going out of business because of us but it's still a little smack in their condescending attitude. One more blow off to current Kiser crowd. The above review was written by my husband. Out of frustration, he ended up canceling his parts order. (The order had been placed toward the end of May.) I kid you not, we just received a call on July 20 that his parts had come in....two months after he'd placed the original order. Uhm. The order was canceled some time in June. Apparently someone neglected to actually make the cancellation. Hubby's credit card bill came in. Guess what was on it? A charge for the parts dated 5/24. You will not find a friendlier staff for bikes and ect. on the island. I bought a used moped with absolutely no knowledge of 2 wheels & a motor. The guys at Kiser are not condesending, they are there to help in any way they can and this made me very comfortable asking questions that may have seemed so simple. They gave me the cofidence to carry on with my new found love of riding in the wind. Dealing with all the personnel in repairs or sales makes me dream big......maybe one day I will be riding a motorcycle out of the parking lot. read more

After shopping on Oahu for a Kymco Super 8 150, with atrocious results, we found exactly what we wanted at Kiser. With a big savings over anything on Oahu, including the shipping. I had my Honda pioneer repaired twice . (Which we purchased from them for nearly 17 K less than 2 years ago ) The first time I was charged $ 600 and told there's was no problems and they couldn't find any thing but dirt on the under carriage which in their opinions had to be the cause of the loud grinding noise I had described as the reason for repair .. So we hauled it back to Honokaa and right away the loud noise continued , so once again we stopped driving it and made a appt which was 4 weeks out to have it looked at again . So we hauled it back to Kona and they said it was the rear brake . Repair cost $1100. So once again we hauled it home . Then drove it twice and we heard loud noise again .. this time when we looked under it and we found 1 bolt missing and the other completely loose and stripped at the rear brake . Obviously the mechanic didn't tighten these two main bolts that holds the rear end to the breaking system . What scared me is we drive down to Waipio valley hill and that's a danger mistake for a mechanic to make . They're closed today but I emailed them so I will update on their response read more

We bought a Kymco 150cc scooter from Kiser back in November which was to be shipped to Oahu upon completion of a motorcycle safety course. Unfortunately I was injured in a non-related accident and was not able to complete the course until August of this year. Kris and the crew at Kiser kept the scooter for us and shipped it over in absolutely perfect condition. Kris has dutifully and punctually answered all of our numerous emails and questions. So, I tried hard to give these guy's more stars but they kept falling down. So, I ordered a helmet through them to keep my business local. Could've gone w/ Amazon and it would have delivered quicker, but didn't. Two weeks later, my helmet shows up but they ordered the wrong size..... Really guys? I was promised they would "expedite" shipping on the correct size helmet. Two additional weeks later after I have to keep checking in, I'm told " that color is out of stock until September" At this point the manager Jeff was very courteous and actually offered a different style for the same price. (I was never told they came in this style as I would've ordered that instead) so he ordered it "next day" which in Hawaii is usually second day. It came in almost a week later! The upside, Jeff was great! Downside, not sure what the malfunction was but it could've been handled better. Also have to agree with other reviews that there is a feeling of disinterest/elitism when you walk in to buy from these guys. As if they couldn't care less if you but something out not. Final note: Jeff, I know these guys are "motorcycle guys", but a little more customer service orientation might help, and if they follow your example it's easier to swallow a bitter pill. read more

I have bought parts and motorcycles from these guys for years and for the most part had absolutely no problem and a very enjoyable experience. Recently I used their service department to work on my bike and was treated very rude by their service manager and talked to like a piece of dirt not to mention I was charged over $1,000 to do a job that should have cost a couple hundred and was told if I had any problems to bring it back. The first time I took the bike out which was a couple months later the bike ran like crap. Against my better judgement I called to see if they would warranty their work and was basically told it is my fault and that no they will not warranty their work. Not a bad place for buying a bike at all. Friendly and knowledgable staff in that department and their willing to go to lengths to get you the bike you want. My only complaint is with the service department. Most of the time it's fine however I've had a few situations that were less than ideal. Had a flat tire from a screwdriver stabbing crazy ex and they told me they couldn't get me in to change the tire for three weeks. While I had no transportation. Should only take about 15 minutes max to change a tire so I felt like they could have helped me out. Another time I had a front bearing replaced that I decided to bring to them so it would be done professionally instead of doing I myself and while I was waiting around getting the job done I saw a somewhat questionable installation practice being used. It gave out on me a few weeks later even though I was hoping to give the benefit of the doubt. Labor prices are a little steep at around $90 an hour. Overall quality place but not exactly somewhere I love giving my business. Also a bit of a bummer they don't work on Suzuki. read more

I see very few good posts about this place. But I'm willing to try anything myself to see the true effort and effectiveness of a business. And I have to say Kiser motorcycles is very poorly ran and operated by the store manager Jeff. It truly sucks when they have such a monopoly on the island, if you have a motorcycle that you consider nice. do not take it to Kiser. It will either come out not running right. you will be waiting weeks upon weeks for overly marked parts. and its going to come back with new scratches that they are not going to take blame for. the parts people always order the wrong parts, it also seems like they're very poorly understaffed. And no one there knows what they're doing. I was extremely disappointed in the service department in its lack of certified technicians, parts department with their lack of knowledge of parts and sales department has bikes that have been on the floor for years and still want a pretty penny for them when they are covered in rust, the store has no sense of teamwork and structure. And I'm truly sad to leave such a disgraceful post but I am just speaking the truth.
