I stopped by yesterday and picked up a Big Tuna sandwich, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. In the past, Kismet had one of the most amazing tuna sandwiches around--tuna with green goddess dressing, crushed potato chips, and cheese on bread. It was unique, flavorful, and absolutely worth the price. This time, however, it seemed to be a much more mayonnaise-heavy version, and it completely lacked what made the sandwich so special. For the amount it costs, I was really expecting the quality and flavor profile that made it a favorite. I hope you'll consider bringing back the original recipe. It was distinctive, memorable, and one of the reasons I kept coming back. The current version just doesn't compare. Most of the stars are for their branding, which is super cute and inviting! I love their bagel boy mascot. The luncheonette is really cute and has a cozy midcentury diner feel about it. The bagels are good. They aren't out of this world good nor out of the ordinary, but they're good bagels. The brioche donuts are very tasty! They're light and fluffy despite being large, so be careful, since housing a few of them would be easy. I'll be back to try more off the menu. I like this place. read more

Meh. The bagel had no kick or flavor to it. Huh? Jalapeño and no flavor? They remade my sandwich for me after the first one came with almost no whitefish salad in it. As I complained, the manager was very nice about it and remade it and gave me extra whitefish salad. But if you don't say anything or had I gone straight home to eat it there, I would've been out of luck. $13.25 for a bagel with cream cheese and a see-through slice of tomato. I was in the area for an appointment, but the next time I'm there for the same purpose I don't plan on stopping here again. read more

Ordered 1/2 dozen bagels and two breakfast sandwiches. It was very busy but the service was quick and cheerful. They are busy because they are very very good. I got The Spice which is a sandwich with egg, bacon, pickled jalapeño and spicy everything cream cheese which has a creamy, almost aoli-like feel. It was amazing. I had heard a good deal about Kismet's Luncheonette, and had watched them convert the longtime Gin Za Japanese Restaurant space, making it their own. After the excitement of opening passed, I decided to stop in one day while running errands. I came in during the 'in between' time for breakfast and lunch, so it was not nearly as crowded, which is fine by me. The space is beautifully changed into a 1960s/70s feel restaurant, with bright clean lines, a dining counter and some tables in a 'dining area'. They've added windows too. The whole effect is of a retro space with tons of light. This is a quick-serve place. There is no table service. I looked over their menu above the order counter, choosing a chicken salad sandwich and an order of a 1/2 dozen bagels. As it was past the morning rush there were some bagel varieties sold out, however two of my three favorites were not, so yay! The staff were friendly and efficient. I waited only about 10 minutes for my sandwich. As I was running errands, I took my lunch with me. The chicken salad was good, lots of chicken in the salad, and the bread was soft. I felt it was a wee bit bland, nothing that s & p could not handle though. The bagels were ... interesting. This is the first time I've seen bagels with seed topping all over the roll - top, bottom, sides - and quite densely. These are definitely NY style - smaller, denser, chewier than what passes for a bagel elsewhere. I thought they were good, though not quite good enough to buy from them vs. my favorite bagel place on City Ave. I found the complete coating of seeds to be...messy. Parking was easy, they have a private lot and good access to Montgomery Avenue. They had a small part of the lot blocked off for outdoor dining, and since my visit I believe they've added late afternoon/early evening soft serve ice cream to their offerings. I would visit again, more for the sandwiches than the bagels. They're a welcome addition to our local dining scene. read more

This is a great addition to the area! Living in the Roxborough / Manayunk area there are very few bagel places that aren't chains. First experience; my company picked up bagels. The bagels are awesome! The everything bagels have seasoning on both sides!! Second time I stopped in around lunch and got a bacon egg & cheese. Again the bagel was great but the bagel was lacking substance. The egg and bacon to bagel ratio wasn't great. In my option there should be more than 2 slices of bacon on a sandwich for $10. The luncheonette is cute. There are only a few indoor seats but ample outdoor seating! I'd definitely go back and try another sandwich and would always rather support smaller business than chains. read more

After moving to Manayunk, this has become my partner and I's go to bagel shop. We come from New Jersey, just outside NYC, so our bagel standards are pretty high. The restaurant is super cute. They sell some retro style merch to match the theme of the restaurant. The workers are always very kind and personable. Their bagels are absolutely covered in seasoning, fluffy on the inside, a bit of a crunch on the outside, and not too chewy. My only complaint is that they are on the smaller side. As for coffee, not worth it. It's pricy, thin, and watery. They also have super small ice cubes that you can't help but get in your mouth every time you take a sip, so it's like you have to crunch your coffee. The whole visit was grand! The wait was about 10 minutes. It was a Saturday morning, everyone wanted Bagels! I enjoyed an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich on a salt/rosemary bagel! It was delicious- lots of bacon! I also tried the cranberry and ginger schmear on a plain bagel. I really didn't need anything else but really wanted to try the schmear. Then I happened to chat with the GM and he asked if I had ever tried a sweet item. I had not. He brought me a chocolate filled brioche doughnut OH MY GOODNESS!!! I will definitely have one of those again. I don't live near there, Nebraska, but when I am in the area I always find a way to make a stop to enjoy fresh bagels and other stuff. We've been longtime fans of Kismet, but the Main Line luncheonette really upped the game. Unlike the Fishtown location, this spot has espresso drinks and soft serve -- a total win. The bagels are still excellent (jalapeño cheddar for life), and I love that they've brought the same thoughtful vibe to this new space. It's got a charming, diner-meets-modern feel with limited seating, but the energy is cozy and upbeat. Great for takeaway or a quick sit-down if you snag a spot. Gluten-free options are available too, which is always appreciated. Finally a bagel spot in Pennsylvania that GETS IT!!!! Kismet earned the New Yorker stamp of approval from my boyfriend and I after we stopped in yesterday for breakfast. On a Saturday morning they were busy but had the line moving quickly, and surprisingly had a lot of seating available. We both got BEC's, and they were outstanding, honestly better than those of some places I've been to in Manhattan. The bagels (sesame and egg) were chewy but not too bready/crumbly, and the bacon egg and cheese were well proportioned and yummy. Our coffees were also piping hot and fresh, didn't even need sugar they were so good. The place has a really nice and bright interior, with insanely clever marketing of their bagels. Next time I'm back for a bagel, I'll definitely pick up one of the cute little stickers by the cash register! Overall, we love kismet bagels, and will certainly return to try more of their offerings! read more

I had the opportunity to try this place on a whim. It was on an app that I use called to good to go it's for food that may be tossed otherwise. This was a great find!!!!! The offering was for bagels and I was sceptical but I said to myself what the hell why not it's early but it was perfect! I got there and there was a lot to choose from, so I tried the poppyseed and the cinnamon raisin. There were so many poppyseeds you couldn't see the darn bagel this was TERRIFIC I had not had a bagel that good in years!!! I will definitely be back. It was well worth the detour out of my way for this little shop. However, it is a small business location so you will have to keep an eye out because you could miss it though it is right on the corner across from where the old mainline bank was at that weird light on the same side as the schools and the Wawa. first time here, I got "the fish" on a gluten-free everything bagel, it was absolutely delicious. pastrami lox, pickles and red onion and tomato and plain cream cheese. Really nice size, lots of filling. At $14 first I was thinking- a bit pricey for a bagel sandwich, but it was absolutely top-tier, worth every penny. Kismet bagels is a very cute bagel spot that recently opened up a location in Penn Valley. After hearing rave reviews about their other locations, I decided to check it out. This location is much larger than the other locations with both counter and table seating. A bagel with spread will run you about $5 while a bagel sandwich is around $10. They have a ton of very unique spread options and I went for a rosemary sea salt bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. The bagel was just a tad bit too salty with the flavored cream cheese, but the cream cheese was to die for. It made the bagel taste like literal garlic bread. I'm definitely returning for bagels (and buying a tub of the garlic and herb cream cheese for home!). Super excited to try the other offerings! read more

My go to since I was preg are the cinnamon raison with scallion creamcheese, gives a sweet n savory ordeal. I like taking them home and toasting them with butter under the broiler. Banger. Today I made my order a meal by getting a bagel with a side of latkes and a soda. You can only get a soda, not tea or juice. With the latkes they come with your choice of sour cream or apple sauce. I like the touch of making it a meal. The latkes are square and are a nice size and good flavor. I wish they were more krispy around the edges. Also, the vibe and customer service is always welcoming especially at the fishtown location that I frequent but has no seating area like this place. This inside here is adorable with plenty of seating and Kismet bagel coloring pages with crayons for kids to occupy themselves. They have ample parking spaces, although it gets slightly awkward near the entrance cars are close coming in and backing up is close to other cars. Fabulous. Highest possible recommendation. I had been to the Fishtown shop before, and enjoyed the amazing homemade bagels when they were available at other places. We love Jacob and Alexandra, and have been fans since they were selling at a table outside Tired Hands in Ardmore during the thick of the pandemic. This new spot is a gem. Parking lot out front is on the smaller side, but there's generally lots of parking options up and down the main street/side streets, if needed. I absolutely love this place! The bagels are always fresh. The staff is super friendly, even while being crazy busy. The Luncheonette location is smaller and cozy. My go-to order is The Veg on a Rosemary sea salt bagel. Sadly, they were sold out of rosemary sea salt today, so I got it on a sesame. I also subbed the veggie cream cheese for the garlic one. It was delicious. Their coffee is also tasty. My Friend got the BEC on an everything bagel and really enjoyed it. The everything bagel does have a TON of everything seasoning on it. We decided to splurge and try the homemade strawberry rhubarb donut, which was YUMMY. Lots of jam on the inside and very soft and pillowy dough. Just the other day I had the opportunity to dine at Kismet Bagels, and I was pleased with the experience. The place itself had a very welcoming and homey vibe; the employees as well were warm and very patient. The service at Kismet was on point, and the staff there were very efficient and had the food ready to go within roughly 5 minutes. I had gotten a regular bagel with cream cheese and lox, the veggie bagel, and the bacon, egg, and cheese. The bacon, egg, and cheese was quite flavorful; the only criticism I have is that the bagel itself, on account of the bacon, was way too greasy and felt really heavy. The cream cheese bagel had a generous serving of cream cheese, which was very much appreciated, and the veggie bagel was delicious as well; the tomatoes were super juicy, and the bagel itself was very refreshing. read more

I wanted this place to be good because chain bagel stores are horrible but I was not impressed at all. I tried a sea salt/ rosemary bagel and it looked like a plain bagel. The everything bagel had a good amount of seasoning but the bagels are mediocre at best. The nova lox schmear tastes fishy and I doubt it was made with nova. Work on a better fermentation dough recipe. It's obvious from the other reviews that they have never had a good bagel and don't have a baseline of what constitutes good. What a cute place this was! They had the best bagels I've had in a long time. They have 3 options of gluten free bagels which I feel is rare. Kismet bagel has been a staple since I have moved to Philadelphia. The luncheonette is a new edition into the Kismet scene and is definitely a MUST when considering the full bagel experience. The overall space pulls you back in time and honestly really enhances the bagel experience. The staff was incredible kind and while waiting to order, I could tell that the staff really enjoyed each other. Arrived here early in the morning for some bagels. Was easy to get in and out of the parking lot at that time. Inside there were already customers at tables eating, and I was second in line, which was a good sign of popularity. Cool little gift shop to the side as you walk in. There was a book called Kismet on one of the shelves, which piqued my interest. The service moved quickly, and the employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Thought it was neat that they had black sesame seed bagels, which I had never had before--they were delicious. Lots of coffee selections. Came here for the first time today and had a great experience. Staff was friendly and the guy owner was there he was very nice and appreciative for coming in. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was delicious. My gf had a bec that she said tasted even better than the rittenhouse location. We also went a bit ham and got Oreo shakes and fries.
