Good bakery/cafe for Hong Kong style breakfast and lunch. Quick service and affordable prices.

Good café for Hong Kong cha cha breakfast or lunch. Good prices and quick service. They're not reinventing the wheel but just serving regular good food.

Kissena Cafe used to be a Tea Shop 168 but now they sell Hong Kong style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is not your usual Chinese bakery because they no longer sell the $1-$2 bakery bread and pastry items. They sell a lot of HK fast food specialties like spam and egg over rice, milk tea, macaroni and soup, and congee. I wold suggest ordering what's on the menu but without any replacements because there are surcharges (for ex. $1 for a slice of cheese. Everything is pretty much pre-made and they just heat it up. The egg sandwiches are made to order though so it is a good breakfast item.

I actually stumbled upon this spot when I was looking for something else around the area. Forgot my glasses so couldn't read the menu and sort of panic ordered. Yes! Who orders beef & tomato over rice and french toast!? I'M SORRY! but it was good! had the Toast first and was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Definitely done right! The beef & tomato was meh. But would definitely come back and try other things!

There's an arrangement in this cafe that after 5 pm each day (except Thurs), someone uses the premise to sell Cantonese wonton noodle. The wontons are super sized and fresh, one of the best ones I have in Flushing. However the service is terrible. I went there on a hot weather day and asked for a cup of tap water. The staff asked the owner and she said no. Is there how a customer she be treated?

Awesome spot for a quick, cheap HK styled breakfast. We ordered the set menus and everything came out quickly. This is definitely a spot down memory lane. Also, they have the best homemade spicy chili oil sauce on the table. It was so good I had to buy one from the sweet lady -- $4.50 for a bottle.

2day I came here to ordered 2 dishes to go.. Bake meat sauce udon fried spaghetti $7.50 Beef pan fried spaghetti $8.25 Waited about 10 mins. When I get their only 1 customer. This place is for college students Most of them comes here for food. I never eat in. Good for take out. Wish they have a bathroom to use? Narrow hallway Chair & table is on the right side With benches as u can see. 1 older staff chinese woman Other look young not sure what age.

    Satay beef macaroni

This spot deserves more hype. I got the satay beef macaroni and it was SO flavorful! The spam and egg toast was exactly how I imagined it to taste lol the prices here are also so affordable

    $5.25 for 5 fish balls

Paid $5.25 for 5 fish balls. Portion was so tiny I had to double check with the lady behind counter to make sure I got the right order.

The lady who I assume is the boss said she had held a pop-up shop about two years prior which blew up, hence what we see here. The selection here was deceptively small compared to chain bakeries, but it didn't take us long recognise how much power the smaller selection packs and, actually, how the selection really is not small at all. The matcha red bean loaf grabbed my attention straight away and didn't disappoint, but their red bean bun was just as impressive, as it's a more bread-y counterpart to the fluffy versions other bakeries typically have. The onioissant is definitely experimental and worked better on the chive bacon cream cheese one than on the pollack roe, which was a bit too much on the salty and fishy side for my liking. Their chocolate horn is at least twice as big as a typical one you'll find at other bakeries and has a rich dark chocolate filling which was a pleasant surprise. Their coffee brioche pastry was another hit, thanks to the strong coffee filling and delicate layers of pastry. There's ample tables and chairs, beverage menu, and I'm sure we'd come hang if we lived closer. I can't wait to go back.

They were unique but light and really refreshing. For the actual baked goods, I really liked the mousse and french toast, but wasn't a big fan of the oni-croissant. We felt it was too much bread and not enough filling, but that is simply our preferences. The aesthetics was very fast causal and they have different seatings throughout the cafe. It was pretty full but we got a seat pretty quickly.

The inside is absolutely beautiful and while they have tables, they also have more traditional floor seating. We got a couple bites of food to eat, some of their tea, and some cocktails. Their food was very mediocre, at best. While the persimmon cake SEEMED to be made in house, it was very clear that everything off their food menu required minimal preparation (ie. for the dumplings, it was just har cow). I also thought their cocktails were okay, and out of the three we got, none stood out to me. I did enjoy their tea, however. But, it was also fairly expensive for what it was (~$50). Overall, I thought this spot was okay for the price and I'm not sure I would return.

We came with a fairly large group and ordered several teas and snacks to share amongst us. There were several options for the flavors of tea and each one had different benefits as well. I loved all of them, particularly the fruitier ones. As for snacks, we had this fried taro snack that had a crispy biscuit outer layer that was delicious. It was a bit of a sweet & savory mix, but not strong in either sweet or salty flavors. There was also this persimmon snack that was filled with nuts and other things. It was slightly sweet, very unique, and both paired well as a tea time snack. They're also open until 11:30pm! So if you want to skip the bar, I'd recommend checking out this tea spot for a nice hang out.

My go-to order is the Iced Tiramisu Latte, Pistachio and Ricotta Cake, and their Mixed Berry Croffle. The Tiramisu Latte isn't too sweet, which makes it perfect to drink. The Pistachio and Ricotta Cake is light and works well together, despite it being made from ricotta (which is something I usually do not like). I did try their Misty Morning drink, which comprises of pear juice, pear puree, and sparkling water, however, I would skip this as it tasted literally like the pear drink in a can, mixed with sparkling water. Staff members are pretty prompt in taking your order. I would continue coming here when I am in the area.
