Inside a little food court. Service was friendly, though they do mostly speak Mandarin. Took about 5-10 mins for our order to be ready. Braised Pork w/ Preserved Veg Rice Roll (Fan Tuan) was balanced in filling. It held together pretty well. The pork was tender, while the preserved veg was crisp. It is a decent size but definitely more of a snack. Will have to try it with the Crispy Fried Dough Stick next time. Purple Rice Over Ice is a decent portion with a variety of toppings. The fruits tasted fresh. The syrup(?) is a bit on the plain side, so might be better over Milk Tea. It is pretty refreshing though. A quick spot to hit for fan tuan. Will have to come back to try other things!

Taiwanese rice rolls (fan tuan) with a modern twist. After several visits over the past few months, I would consider this little takeout shop one of the better snacks in Flushing. First of all, the purple rice makes this item quite unique and pretty to look at. However, if it was made poorly, then none of it matters. Thankfully, they cook the rice quite well. The individual grains of warm rice was glutinous and satisfying. Another important factor is the seaweed that wraps it all together. I do wish it was a bit more crispier and more flavorful. With that said, I'm not having a sushi omakase and shouldn't expect such high quality for the price I guess. For filling, I really enjoy the original. However, my friend loves the pork belly with preserved vegetables, adding crunchy pieces of fried cruller ... ... this has really grown on me and it's now my favorite too. If you want a cheap but filling snack, this is a decent choice in downtown Flushing.

I've only tried the Brooklyn location before which was good, so I decided to get a rice roll while in Flushing. I got my usual braised pork & preserved vegetable one. Just as delicious as the BK location. This is a filling small meal at a great price. Service was friendly. Highly recommend.

First time trying this place. I bought two rice rolls to go to share with my family. I was pleasantly surprised by how "full" they were. They reminded me of mini burritos, given the size. The two flavors I chose: one cheese and ham rice roll (outside was the red bean sticky rice, rolled with seaweed, then inside the, plump roll was pork floss, julienned cucumbers, shreds of lettuce, lots of ham cut length-wise, and some burdock or a pickled veggie if I'm mistaken). It was quite flavorful. The cheese was more of a sauce and not slices or cubes, just FYI. The second roll was the Black pepper chicken roll: contained pork floss, tender stir fried chicken seasoned with black pepper and a hint of cumin. Like the other roll, contained cucumbers, lettuce, burdock and it was rolled with red bean sticky rice and seaweed. If one person ate both, it'd be a very full meal. We shared it between 3 people, for us, it was the right amount. Since it was my first time buying this, I enjoyed the rolls. But my one comment would be that both had similar ingredients so I'm thinking it was a little "one note". But it also could've been by chance based on my order as there were lots of other varieties to choose from. I am not sure if the other rolls offer white rice vs the red bean rice but I was happy with my choice. Next visit, I'll take a photo of the menu. It's on Hungry Panda and they accept cash, Zelle as well as We Chat pay. No credit cards from what I can see. It's Flushing so I'm not surprised.

If you like Japanese onigiri or Korean kimbap, I think you'll like these Taiwanese sticky purple rice rolls aka fan tuan 饭团 (stuffed rice rolls). At Nuan Xin Rice Roll, they're densely packed mini rice burritos, stuffed with sticky purple rice, pork floss, vegetables, and your protein of choice, all held together with a seaweed wrapped around the ingredients. Husband and I got the eel and black pepper beef rice rolls, however there's a large variety of choices at this stall inside the mini food court. When you order, don't forget to choose a sauce to go with your rice roll! The black pepper beef rice roll already comes with black pepper sauce, however we added mayo to the eel rice roll (delicious, a must get). You actually can taste every single ingredient when you bite in. & Because of the purple rice, the roll is slightly sweet and has a sticky texture. Also, be careful when you eat this because you might have a little bit of seaweed stuck on your teeth after every bite haha What we ordered: $6.50 eel rice roll $6.25 black pepper beef rice roll $3 large soy milk  Nuan Xin Rice Roll 暖心饭团 (136-55 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11354) Open daily 8am-8pm

Eel Rice Roll (鰻魚飯團): $6. Take-out, cut in pieces.

My eyes lit up when I saw the menu. The owners are from Tainan, Taiwan which is often consider the culinary capital of Taiwan with many iconic traditional dishes and flavors. The restaurant is spacious but it does not have many table seatings (3-5 tables?). When we came it wasn't busy so we got a spot but we did see many people coming in for their takeout orders. The oldies they play at the restaurant take me back to my childhood. The place is structured very interestingly where it's an open kitchen so you can actually easily see how they prep the food in the back. We ordered: - oyster omelette pancake - mung wort kueh (4 pieces) - danzai noodle - mixed spice platter The oyster omelette was the highlight! The bottom is crispy and they use a generous amount of oysters. It's the most authentic oyster pancake I've had in the east coast. Alot of other "Taiwanese spots" don't make it correctly. I also love the mung wort kueh (hard to find places that sell this) - it's a fun snack to take to go. It's a savory mochi bun with shredded radish as the main ingredient. The danzai noodle is an iconic dish from Tainan. Its main star consists of the one shrimp and the marinated ground braised pork. Although I would prefer the dry version but they serve the soup version here. The broth tastes very clear and clean, doesn't feel like it's dosed with salt and MSG. We got the mixed platter - an iconic street food in Tainan is 滷味 (Lou Wei) which is consist of different ingredients tossed and braised in a soy-based spice sauce. They have a nice selection of Lou Wei options and the platter we got had pork belly, duck neck, tofu skin, and lotus roots. The spicy duck neck can be intimidating for those that have never had it but it is fun to eat. There are so many items on there that I can't wait to try. For first timer, definitely get the oyster pancake and Luroufan! I can't wait to come back and try more of the traditional Taiwanese dishes. They also have frozen dumplings that you can buy to go. 50 pieces for $28-$30 is a pretty good price!

Sausage fried rice was flavorful but it had so many onions and very minimal sausage so be prepared for your breath to kick. Scallion oil noodle was bland and a bit soupy on the bottom of the bowl, would pass on this. The eggs can be passed on as well, for 4 halves for $4 as a combo with a braised tofu skin that was $5 and had a nice flavor. Service was quick.
