    Poke Build Your Own Bowl
    Edna L.

For the last year and a half, this was my favorite poke place. Staff are friendly and it's a quiet little place on Austin St. Ingredients were fresh, price was affordable for what you'd get and poke bowls were packed to the brim. However, last month I came here and got a poke bowl and was disappointed by it. Thought it was a one time thing- an off day. Decided to give them another try and it was even more disappointing. For reference, my order is always the same: proteins are spicy tuna and eel with pretty much all the toppings. These last 2 times in the past 2 months, ingredients were not as fresh, quality of ingredients were not as great and flavorful, and they've been skimping out. All very noticeable. Sadly, I'll have to find another poke place to go to.

Literally my favorite poke place ever! Been coming here since high school and it'll always be my favorite. Not many places have eel, so I always get it when I come here. Their portions are pretty generous too and the presentation is beautiful. This place is great for people with social anxiety-- you fill out a paper form with all the options in front of you and you don't have to worry about remembering everything you want when you tell the cashier. There are only a few tables and seats inside, plus some seats along the window where my friend and I sat. Parking is difficult on Austin though, so either hope for parking on the side streets or just take the train (M/R).

Kissfish is my go-to place when I'm in the mood for a poke bowl ($13.95). You just fill out a paper form with all the options, so you can mix and match as you please. I usually choose salmon, tuna, or eel as my protein. And out of all the poke places I've tried, they have to best tasting yuzu ponzu sauce.

Pretty good poké with plenty of toppings and is not overloaded with rice. The place is tiny with only a few seats. The imitation crab (kani salad) is in large pieces instead of fully shredded but the flavor is there.

This is just a small little place for takeout as there isn't rlly any seating, and not rlly somewhere you'd sit and eat anyways. Usually, people just grab and go, but don't judge by the size of this place. Their poke bowls are absolutely amazing! Love love love! Highly recommend stopping by!

Last week I decided to try the new poke place on Austin street instead of going to kissfish. It's been awhile since I had a poke bowl and I was wanted to see if it was worth it, and it wasn't. So this week I had to get kissfish to get the bad bowl taste out of my mouth. I am so glad I did. This was probably the best bowl I've ever had. Everything was super fresh and my bowl was overflowing. It was amazing

Kissfish is a pretty solid place for poke in the area and a reasonable price as well. I believe it is predominantly a delivery food place VS. a sit-in. The only qualm I have is I wish that the spicy salmon and spicy tuna was less mushy. Yes it should be chopped up but no reason for it to be mushy and since fish is the main part of a poke bowl I gave Kissfish 3 stars.

I think overall, this is a really good poke place. Easily in my top favorites. Considering the neighborhood it is in, I would say this is one of the best places to eat. I got the Build Your Own Bowl with Salmon and Tuna. I feel like the rice is a good portion compared to the other ingredients, so there isn't a an abundance of one ingredient. The only thing I would say is, I wish they had different bowl size because this place is so good, I could definitely go for a large. To order: when you go in, just grab a slip of paper and start filling out what you'd like to order. I think this is really smart and efficient because you see all the ingredients in front of you and there will not be any misunderstandings and any mis-ordering. Overall, great poke place. Definitely check it out.

What a great tiny place for take out or a quick lunch/dinner in! This is the second time I have been here! The fish is fresh, and the portions are generous, especially as a lunch! They are quick to build your bowl! I'll be back.

Sushi wrap with slimy salmon that's old.

I came years ago a few times and it was good..it's not good now not at all..I got a sushi wrap and it was disgusting. I eat raw fish a lot and something tasted so off I decided to undo the wrap and I wish I hadn't. The salmon was old it was slimy and it smelled like it had been in and out of a fridge I can't explain the smell but they are obviously not using fresh fish. It's really concerning that they would serve slimy fish thats old .I had to throw it out there was no way I was going to risk food poisoning. The other ingredients also tasted like dirty fridge I definitely will not be returning.

MUST HAVE in Forest Hills!!! Genuinely the best poke I've ever had, every time I go it's exactly the same high quality. Super fresh and tasty, and great price! I also love how nicely they arrange the poke lol. When you go in person you use a paper menu and pencil to select what you want in the bowl so it's low pressure :)

Bought a Build Your Own Bowl which included * Sushi Rice * Spicy Tuna * Spicy Salmon * Every Free Topping * Spicy Mayo Sauce * Sweet Chili Sauce Everything was great except the spicy tuna and spicy salmon .

Salmon, spicy tuna with all of their toppings. $14

This is really like a hole in the wall. I walked by it a few times, they had boxes piled in the dining area, not really any chairs. I always thought they were still under construction or in the process of moving. When You walk in, there are a few seats but no one eats there. So it is essentially a take out place. There's a menu which you can custom your own poke bowl or burrito or salad. I would suggest the bowel because you get more ingredients. Fish is very fresh, you can pick two proteins, they also have lots of toppings(unlimited) and sauces(can pick 2) to choose from. It's about 14 dollars a bowel after tax but portion is generous. It's a perfect place for lunch take out. Overall, food is spot on, took one star off for the interior.

Delicious poke bowls. Really good value for the amount of food you get. Perfect combination between all the toppings and rice.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.
