I would say this place is under rated. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I had a poke' bowl with spicy tuna and salmon. Added a little avocado, some peppers and wasabi for heat, ginger and ponzu for tang. It was great. I didn't try for water after reading other reviews. Hopefully that is resolved. Being scolded over a glass of tap water isn't classy. Staff were efficient and friendly. Will try out the dessert spot too! Matcha lava cake sounds great. Enjoy! read more

Since it had opened in my neighborhood, I decided to give it another shot being a self-proclaimed poke connoisseur. I placed my order online and they began making it when I walked in. All the seafood options looked clean, the sauces were tasty, and the toppings were all light & refreshing. It tasted good and was pretty satisfying; however, the same bowl at other poke spots is about $3 less. Side note, I went to grab a cup of water from the corner and was told that that it was only for Spot Dessert Bar. Considering they're under the same roof, it's a bit weird to be "reserving" the water cups for Spot diners only. It's just tap water at the end of the day. After getting burgers for the family, I opted for some lighter fare, and was happy there's a Pokéworks in the neighborhood! The staff was a little oblivious to incoming patrons, likely because many patrons seemed to be more interested in the dessert business that shares the space. Anyhoo, I began my order and the employee helping me was pretty patient. I really wanted a burrito, so I chose two proteins (spicy salmon and ahi tuna). I added a bunch of veggies and extras, so she had a thought time getting it together but as usual, I was amazed that she was able to wrap it all up. I had her put the simple ponzu sauce in the burrito but I also ordered extra sauces on the side. I had their cilantro mayo and I HAD to try their new lava sauce. It is AMAZINGLY GOOD! it's tastes like gochujang, but is actually supposed to be sriracha and ghost peppers. It's sweet and salty, and very hot! I love it and would order a pint to put on everything, from cucumbers, to eggs, and everything in between. You really can't go wrong either Pokéworks. Their produce and proteins are fresh, the facilities are immaculate, and everything tastes really good. read more

Came here to have some lunch and feed the beast. This place has been open now for about 2 months now and I have been wanting to try it. Right off the bus or train (30th Avenue Stop on the N train) and really convenient in the middle of busy 30th Ave. The place looks beautiful and clean and highly organized. The menu is pretty clear and the food is out & fresh for everyone to see. They even have a dessert spot in the back which is a separate entity from the poke, I ordered the chicken bowl with a sweet sauce and a water, the food was really good and the serving size was great and filling. The price is pretty standard for poke $20 but It's nice to have another one on 30th besides Poke Burrito which is also really good,It's all about choices like Tatiana always said. Wishing them the best because Astoria needs cleaner food options that aren't Fast Food, Burgers or Pizza. Highly Recommend. read more

Fun fact: I helped open their flagship location on west 37th street in 2015/2016! So sad they closed that location just recently... Pokeworks has come a long way since then : my overall experience has been pleasant one - fresh ingredients and the flavor profiles are very nostalgic of my time with them. My only complaint is that the ingredients weren't layered correctly - more salmon on one end of the burrito, etc. Definitely one of the better Pokeworks locations though! read more

Nice neat poke place by the Astoria 30th Ave. subway station. It shares a space with Spot dessert bar, another one of my classic dessert favorites. I liked the poke overall. I had a small bowl and selected the lobster protecting, something I don't really see in other poke places and it was really good. The small bowl was just the right portion for me to fill me up; I feel like this is important because I don't want to have too much leftovers because it doesn't taste very good after an hour or so. I was a little surprised they charge extra for Masago now . I've never seen this before. We came on a Friday evening so it wasn't too busy. I ordered my food at the counter and then took it to my seat. The only confusing thing I will say about this place is, because it shares space with Spot dessert Bar, there are designated tables for each restaurant. Stopped in because I was craving poke, and got my cravings sufficiently satisfied. All the ingredients were tasty, and the fish felt fresh and good quality. The Huli Huli chicken was also very well-seasoned and well-cooked. This is a pay at the counter and seat yourself type of establishment, and the seating area was clean. read more

As an existing customer of their other location in Fresh Meadows (same owners), I can tell you the Astoria location is just as good! It's under one roof along with Spot Dessert Bar. As a local, I can say that Astoria really needed something like this. It's a great place to grab a fresh, refreshing lunch paired with an iced boba tea from Spot. I think it's a cute addition to 30th ave. Today the doors were actually open. I've seen the place light up a couple times but wasn't really open to the generic public. I think it was invitation only or something like that. I got off work at 930p and the place was still open so it's nice to know you can still drop in. A bit pricier than the other poke stores nearby. I do like the way they mix the poke in stainless steel bowls and then add it to the takeout container though. I believe avocado is an upcharge, I might have misheard the order before me. The other poke place on 30th Ave charges for avocado now too so it's not any different imo. They share the place with another store so if you want items from both you'll have to go to the separate counters. There is bright lighting and a lot of seats if you want to stay. I didn't make my own bowl just to see how big the portion is and it's not bad. After tax it's about $17 for a regular. I got a drink at the other store inside which was about $9. There were a lot of workers in both stores. I'm not sure if that's just for the opening or if they'll start to lessen the staff on board later. There is a pokeworks rewards where you can sign up and get $5 off your first order so if price is a deterrent use the $5 and try it I guess. I don't like that the glass divider was so short. I felt pretty silly pointing at things and forgetting the divider was there. It could be a sanitary concern later on if customers start pointing their dirty fingers over the glass and onto the actual food. read more
