Regular Poke Your Way Bowl (~$16)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Regular Poke Your Way Bowl (~$16): Brown Rice, Ahi Tuna, Salmon, Cucumber, Sliced Onion, Edamame, Pokeworks Classic, Ponzu Fresh, Spicy Mayo, Seaweed Salad, Surimi Salad, Ginger, Green Onion, Onion Crisps, Garlic Crisps Aya's take: Pokeworks was actually the first poke place I ever tried and my love for poke has never diminished since! Since it had opened in my neighborhood, I decided to give it another shot being a self-proclaimed poke connoisseur. I placed my order online and they began making it when I walked in. All the seafood options looked clean, the sauces were tasty, and the toppings were all light & refreshing. It tasted good and was pretty satisfying; however, the same bowl at other poke spots is about $3 less. Side note, I went to grab a cup of water from the corner and was told that that it was only for Spot Dessert Bar. Considering they're under the same roof, it's a bit weird to be "reserving" the water cups for Spot diners only. It's just tap water at the end of the day. Aside from that, it was a good try!

    It's like a burrito baby!

After getting burgers for the family, I opted for some lighter fare, and was happy there's a Pokéworks in the neighborhood! The staff was a little oblivious to incoming patrons, likely because many patrons seemed to be more interested in the dessert business that shares the space. Anyhoo, I began my order and the employee helping me was pretty patient. I really wanted a burrito, so I chose two proteins (spicy salmon and ahi tuna). I added a bunch of veggies and extras, so she had a thought time getting it together but as usual, I was amazed that she was able to wrap it all up. I had her put the simple ponzu sauce in the burrito but I also ordered extra sauces on the side. I had their cilantro mayo and I HAD to try their new lava sauce. It is AMAZINGLY GOOD! it's tastes like gochujang, but is actually supposed to be sriracha and ghost peppers. It's sweet and salty, and very hot! I love it and would order a pint to put on everything, from cucumbers, to eggs, and everything in between. You really can't go wrong either Pokéworks. Their produce and proteins are fresh, the facilities are immaculate, and everything tastes really good.

Came here to have some lunch and feed the beast. This place has been open now for about 2 months now and I have been wanting to try it. Right off the bus or train (30th Avenue Stop on the N train) and really convenient in the middle of busy 30th Ave. The place looks beautiful and clean and highly organized. The menu is pretty clear and the food is out & fresh for everyone to see. They even have a dessert spot in the back which is a separate entity from the poke, I ordered the chicken bowl with a sweet sauce and a water, the food was really good and the serving size was great and filling. The price is pretty standard for poke $20 but It's nice to have another one on 30th besides Poke Burrito which is also really good,It's all about choices like Tatiana always said. Wishing them the best because Astoria needs cleaner food options that aren't Fast Food, Burgers or Pizza. Highly Recommend.

Ate and brought here for lunch by myself while working as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q that I had brought the ahi tuna poke bowl. It tasted great and delicious. The service there was also attentive. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

Nice neat poke place by the Astoria 30th Ave. subway station. It shares a space with Spot dessert bar, another one of my classic dessert favorites. I liked the poke overall. I had a small bowl and selected the lobster protecting, something I don't really see in other poke places and it was really good. The small bowl was just the right portion for me to fill me up; I feel like this is important because I don't want to have too much leftovers because it doesn't taste very good after an hour or so. I was a little surprised they charge extra for Masago now . I've never seen this before. We came on a Friday evening so it wasn't too busy. I ordered my food at the counter and then took it to my seat. The only confusing thing I will say about this place is, because it shares space with Spot dessert Bar, there are designated tables for each restaurant. You also have to finish your poke first before ordering from Spot.

    Volcano bowl (ahi tuna)
    Michelle C.

PSA the Volcano bowl actually IS spicy and delicious! Rating 7.5/10 on spicy scale (not for the weak). My bowl came out to $17 which is pricey but pretty standard for poké/NYC. What a great idea to share the space with Spot Dessert Bar! Would be the perfect combo! Fav items at Spot are the golden toast and matcha lava cake

I was excited to hear that Pokeworks was coming to Astoria so I had to check it out after their recent opening! The quality here is good. Hopefully it stays that way. The fish here is fresh and the food is tasty. The employees are also very friendly and enthusiastic. Would definitely be back to satisfy my poké cravings.

    Stephanie C.

Great addition to the neighborhood - the portions were generous and you can add so many toppings for free! The servers were very nice and welcoming. Fish felt fresh. The spam musubi was tasty, they add some garlic crisps in the middle which is a nice crunchy addition.

Impressive location and combination of two restaurants Pokeworks and Spot Dessert Bar. Thank you so much for the invite and the food hasn't changed from location to location. Astoria is just as great as Fresh Meadows.

    Neil H.

Unlike other poke eateries, the options seemed off. something was not quite right for me, and the options were not what I was used to with more fruit options. i have to be balanced and given they were clean and the employees herful a three star review is in order. Nevertheless, I did not enjoy my experience and won't be back!!

    Toni C.

As an existing customer of their other location in Fresh Meadows (same owners), I can tell you the Astoria location is just as good! It's under one roof along with Spot Dessert Bar. As a local, I can say that Astoria really needed something like this. It's a great place to grab a fresh, refreshing lunch paired with an iced boba tea from Spot. Also, it's conveniently located steps away from the 30th Avenue train stop and a Citi Bike station. the vibes are great and staff is very friendly!

I found the space clean, thoughtfully designed, and with a cozy cafe feel that made it worth lingering in rather than just stopping through. I ordered the combo set, which comes with miso soup, two onigiri, and a set of sides that included tamago. The karaage onigiri is the move here. The filling was satisfying and the flavors were well balanced in a way that made it easy to see why it keeps coming up as a favorite. Individual onigiri are priced in the four to six dollar range, which makes ordering a few to try different fillings a low risk decision. The miso soup that came with the combo was comforting and rounded out the meal without feeling like an afterthought. The unagi onigiri in the combo was where I would pump the brakes. It was good, though I felt it was a little heavier on the rice. The mentaiko and mayo is another strong option if you want something with a bit more richness, and the tuna yuzu is worth keeping in mind for a lighter, brighter pick. Kinoko with five types of Japanese mushroom and scallion is a solid choice if you want something on the vegetarian side that does not feel like a compromise. The cafe fills up and popular fillings sell out, so arriving earlier gives you the best shot at getting your first choice across the board.

It is a small Hawaiian place that serves fresh food. The owner is friendly. The portion size of the food is a lot, so you will definitely not get hungry. Hawaiian BBQ Plate - you have the option to do 1 to 3 proteins with 2 sides. The proteins that I typically pick are chicken katsu, bulgogi beef, or grilled shrimp. The sides that I typically pick are seaweed salad, charred broccoli, and crabmeat salad. Poke Bowl - you can't go wrong with picking ahi tuna or salmon (assuming you have no issues eating raw food) as your protein. Gyoza - it is fried and crispy, and I would recommend this over the pork dumplings. Pork Dumplings - it is so-so. The skin on the dumplings is too thick. Spam Musubi - it's just spam meat & seaweed wrapped over rice. Nothing too special. Overall, give this place a try if you're ever around this area!

But if I had to choose between a bowl of ramen from a Japanese restaurant or this saimin, you can't pay me to choose the latter. It was like a whitewashed version of ramen, in which the broth had a vegetable flavor and not rich at all. The toppings were Naruto slices and bits of veggies. The katsu was ok but not memorable. We had loco moco from vert frais (jap French fusion eatery in LIC) recently, and that was so much better. The patty here was neither tender nor juicy. The sauce was pretty average but vert frais' was above average. I was really looking forward to the macaroni salad in the plate but they didn't give a lot (they piled it on some rice so it looked like more than it was). The Mac salad was also a little on the plainer side. Only had a couple of carrot shreds I'm tempted to come back to try their seafood but I have my doubts
