The cousins determined that it was going to be a $500 transmission/gearcase repair; they recommended a new washer because of the wear on the other parts inside, over paying for an expensive and likely short-lived fix. Lake Country did not require us to take the part. I also offered to pay a trip charge since they were so helpful. They said it wasn't necessary.
