Got the avo toast, it was pretty good! Although a little salty but I'm just used to not having salt in my food. The coffee was not bad either. Just made a quick stop on my way to the border. I would probably come back again if I'm ever around the area. There's lots of seating inside and it's nice and quiet to study.

It was my first time Kitab and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with ample seating for dining or work. It gives off neighborhood coffee shop vibes, but a bit bigger. I grabbed an iced matcha and the Caniff sandwich. My matcha was tasty and refreshing and was served up quickly. The Caniff was the real show stopper though. The pesto in it is banging. Next time I'm around I'll try something else maybe, but I could see myself being drawn back to that one. Highly recommend Kitab.

Cold December Saturday morning in Detroit, here for work. I am in love with this café. The sandwich was AMAzinnngg, I'm super picky but I eat all things delish ... Order the Egg Pastrami (mine was on sourdough), everything was so fresh and just went together! Then I ordered the cookie butter latte. YUummy . Everyone was super Dope and friendly, provided quality suggestions. I enjoyed that they have free Qurans (English and Spanish), adding it to my spiritual collection. It's pretty busy but a nice amount of sitting, just get there!

I had their matcha latte and chicken sandwich. Both the matcha and the sandwich were pretty good, the inside is also very nicely decorated and it is kept clean. The staff were very helpful and kind.

The midtown location has made no efforts to keep the alley next to it free from customer parking. This alley provides the only access for 60 residents next door to enter their garage. Do better Kitab.

Oct 2024: Oat milk draft latte - $6.50 Gallagher sandwich (no cheese) on everything bagel $11

I always come for the oat milk draft latte - always yummy, so smooth and sweet enough to not need additional sugar! Service is fast, I wish they called by name though as they are so busy and people order the same drinks. Today was my first time grabbing a sandwich, the Gallagher with halal turkey and veggies on an everything bagel. Quite good, and made for a nice quick lunch together with the coffee. Decent amount of seating with tables, but usually full of students and folks camped out with laptops. Small lot parking but plenty of street parking around the corners - pay with the Detroit Parking app!

This cafe is very cute, they offer a lot of options and a lot of unique drinks. I got the cookie butter latte and it was very rich and flavorful. It was a bit hard to find seating in the cafe and it can get a bit loud in here. The service was quick and they offer free parking outside too.

Stopped by Kitab Cafe after hearing about it on Instagram. We ordered the iced chai latte and the brown sugar oat milk latte--both were delicious and perfectly sweetened. I loved how the cafe blended modern decor with the rustic charm of the city. It was bustling, so we ended up mixing and matching seating in a few different spots. Definitely a must-try cafe!

Awesome owners, great coffee . Would definitely recommend checking this new place out.

My friends and I came here hearing great things from other friends. Super cozy vibes and we luckily found a cute spot to sit and do work (pictured). My friend ordered a Oat Milk Draft Latte and I had a Chai Latte both of which were yummy. The on tap feature was very cool and unique. The service was decent. I didn't get any food or pastries but I would love to come back and try them!

Great coworking space, but gets busy quick! Fewer books than the Hamtramck location, feels like a more open cafe with lots of space.

I live in the neighborhood. This place is exquisite. Nothing else needs to be said, but Yelp requires at least 85 characters for a review.

The vibe feels intimate and tucked away--perfect for catching up with a friend, having a private conversation, or even a little "secret rendezvous" . I ordered the Croque Monsieur and an espresso, and both were absolutely delicious. The Croque Monsieur was rich, flavorful, and satisfying, while the espresso was smooth and perfectly prepared. If you're looking for a place to work, it's great for solo productivity, reading, writing, or answering emails. However, it can get a bit lively and loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for virtual meetings or calls. For focused work without meetings, though, it's a perfect spot. Overall, Cafe Sous Terre offers great food, excellent coffee, and one of the most charming atmospheres in Detroit. I'll definitely be back! Oh and the service epic -

Cozy, well thought out decor and seating. The service was fabulous. My one complaint is that they were completely out of baked goods and desserts when we came in for a coffee after dinner! Also, cortados could be paired with the customary cup of soda water for a more serious coffee experience. A few small tweaks and this place is over the moon. Oh! Another epic part of the experience is the live music we were privy to Sunday night. When the gentlemen weren't playing, we were treated to some really nice jazz through the speakers.
