At Sunday Brunch, we noticed some sushi rolls and we were thinking an extension of grocery store fare -- boy were we wrong. The seared bluefin is something I cannot have enough of. We made arrangements to sit a 16-course Omakase (Chef's Choice) and had such a great dinner that we made reservations for another on our way out. Anyone, well, most any trained chef, can cut up fish. Getting good, sushi quality fish and then having them made into combinations that blossom into delightful bites is not something that you can easily find. We were presented with three different pieces of mackeral and rated them on taste, saltiness, etc. They say a picture is worth many words, so see some of what we were eating (it's more difficult to take, & track, pictures while you are enjoying a meal -- and my intent was to enjoy the meal, so my apologies if I've mislabeled any of the pictures). As previously mentioned, this isn't an All You Can Eat Sushi Bar, and this is the ONLY sushi bar in Grand Bend, so the prices for the rolls, appetizers, salads, etc, are a bit on the expensive side. I had my heart set on anything salmon, it's my favourite, so I ordered the salmon sashimi, philly roll, salmon roll and a seaweed salad. All our meals had promptly came out very quickly and the presentation was beautiful. The philly roll was smoked salmon and the actual salmon roll and salmon sashimi was fresh salmon. It tasted fresh, not fishy at all, and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the jalapeno popper wontons, seaweed salad, and an avocado roll, all of which were delicious. All in all, the food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, the prices were more on the expensive side, being that Grand Bend is more of a touristy kind of beach town that attracts a lot of people.
