Was at work and looking for a place with a reasonably priced lunch special and came across Kitchen Aloha. I'm surprised I've never noticed it because I go to the place Nextdoor. I walked in and they had different signage for lunch specials. I chose the Beef GyuDon over rice. $9.95. They had other options as well. You have to place your order at the kiosk. It was easy to navigate. You can also grab condiments while waiting. They have signage telling you to do so. Beef GyuDon: 8/10. It was cooked very well. Seasoned and tender. Just wish it had a little spice to it. Was kinda sweet. I added Sriracha and it made it a 10/10. I would definitely go back to try other items. It's a small but clean. Underwhelming poke in the Tenderloin. Based on the appearance of the bowl, I was expecting bright and fresh flavors, but looks are deceiving. I was disappointed to find the bowl very bland and flavorless. It felt dry. The only sauce was mixed with the salmon pieces and didn't really taste like anything. This left the rest of the bowl lacking flavor and having dry rice. It seems like they just threw in a bunch of random ingredients to take up space in the bowl. I mean, carrots and tortilla strips are definitely interesting choices for a poke bowl. The portion was relatively small for what you pay. The amount of avocado given was just sad. You also aren't able to make adjustments to add other things to the bowl - you're stuck with what is set in the description. For this spot being a very small hole in the wall, I thought I would be noticed and assisted quickly. I was the only person in there but had to wait an unreasonably long time to get my order. I placed the order online long before I walked to the restaurant during my lunch break. When I got there, I sat waiting for probably 10 or so minutes before someone even came out from the back to hand me my food. Ordering was easy through their self-service kiosk, and my food was ready fairly quickly. I went with the loco moco. It was just okay for me--not bad, but probably not something I'd come back for. The portion size was decent for the price, and it came with rice, one beef patty, half a hot dog, and a couple slices of seasoned spam, all topped with a light teriyaki-style glaze. The spam was actually really tasty and seasoned well, which made me think their spam musubis are probably worth trying. The egg on top was cooked all the way through, and I wish there was an option to customize it to over easy or sunny side up. The gravy on the side didn't have much flavor, so I ended up skipping it, but the rice underneath was cooked nicely and not dry. While waiting, I noticed a lot of people ordering poke bowls and daily specials, which might be what they're more known for. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience. I'd come back to try something else next time, probably one of the specials or a musubi. I was surprised at how small and cozy it was in this restaurant. The server was very friendly and helpful when helping me in what to order. The pot of very hot tea was very nice. Stopped by here for lunch on a rainy day after spending time at city hall. It's tiny with three or four tables but the food was great and filling. I feel like they have a unique selection of Hawaiian/fusion that is hard to find anywhere else like saimin noodles, pepperoni spaghetti, and Cheetos spam musubi. It's a very easy-to-miss and non-descript building, so be on the lookout for it! I tried the spicy tuna and avocado roll which was good, but the real standout item was the Spicy Cheeto Spam Musubi Roll (2 pieces/$6). The regular spam musubi roll (2pieces/$5) was good, but the cheeto one was special, unique, and delicious. It was hot and had the perfect ratio of spam to rice to nori--very well-balanced. I will be back just to get it again for a snack! The interior is clean, cute, and welcoming, giving off Hawaii vibes. Service was friendly and fast--you can call ahead to order. I work about 10 minutes away from this place, decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the spam masubi and Tekka maki roll, cost about $11 total. Tekka mak was good. Didn't blow my mind, but just tasted like good quality Tekka maki. Would get this again. Spam masubi: it was good and had a lot of sauce. The only thing was that the sauce used tastes somewhat sweet to me. It taste like a very sweet teriyaki sauce.. which I'm fine with teriyaki, but this one in particular was a little too sweet for me. Other places will charge about $3 just for one masubi This place is pretty popular during lunch, and they have great affordable lunch specials. However, the spaghetti and meat loco plate were huge disappointments. The spaghetti was bland and flavorless and the meat loco was not what was advertised. The description and photo online show bbq short ribs, corn, hash brown patties and sun chips and I received none of those.
