Two things stand out with this little poke place. It's inexpensive and they have a great variety of food options. I only ever come here for poke, but they have a lot of other foods you can try. My review here though is just for the poke bowls. I love make-your-own poke bowls. So many varieties of flavors. They have a really fantastic variety of proteins, sauces and toppings. Their fish always tastes pretty fresh, and I love putting some unagi or seared fish on my bowls. Their sauces are good. I like to use their house spicy sauce. My other favorite thing here is to get marinated eggs on my bowl, which typically feels like more of a ramen thing, but it works here. Their service is always pleasant and they give good portions of food. The place doesn't have a lot of seating and it's small, but I typically just make a bowl and bring it back to work. read more

Delicious and extremely affordable poke right at the intersection of Van Ness and Market streets. This is a mainly to go spot with limited communal seating. They have tons of protein options, including seared fish options for your poke. I got a medium bowl because it came with 3 scoops of fish, which was a decent amount. I chose salmon, ahi tuna, spicy tuna, half brown and white rice but a smaller amount as I was watching my calories. I chose two sauces, green onions, kimchi (I adore good kimchi), and crispy garlic. The fish was heavenly. The salmon was like butter, it just melted with eat bite, and everything tasted fresh. The brown rice had a really nice and nutty flavor and I actually liked it better than the white rice. The kimchi was good, but it was a tad bit sweeter than I am used to, so I wonder if it was made by the restaurant rather than store bought or commercially made. I really enjoyed this poke bowl and I enjoyed the price of $16 bucks and change for a filling medium sized bowl. This is much cheaper and more affordable than I've seen at other poke places around the Bay Area. This is a great spot to get poke to go and take home or have for lunch at work. They also have cooked items like various soups and rice plates. I will be checking this place out again. I definitely recommend checking it out for delicious, affordable poke. Needed a lowkey hotel room lunch for delivery, and Pokebola came up for being nearby. Decided to give them a try because it had been TOO long since I had poké and the reviews were solid. Happy to report it was a good choice! I got a medium build your own bowl with avocado, seaweed salad, cucumber, edamame, spicy aioli, spicy crab, and spicy tuna on top of white rice. My order took a little longer than quoted but my delivery person reached out and let me know they were slammed so it wasn't an issue. Once I did get it, it took me about two seconds to dig in. SO good and not a complaint in sight! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and portions were incredibly generous. The spiciness on the aioli, crab, and tuna were perfection. Nobody I know comes here as a first choice. We come here for the reasonable prices and most of all, the location. It is super close to all the office buildings by Van Ness station and the prices are pretty good for the Poke world. It is very similar to Poke Bowl, which is the better of the two affordable poke restaurants in the city. The fish here is not the best quality and you'll see that the cuts of the fish is sometimes stringy and cut too close to the skin of the fish. The texture tastes very evidently frozen (a bit mushy) and they use A LOT of sauce which some may find makes their bowl soggy. I do commend them for their easy ordering (multiple apps to place your order ahead of time) and their customer service was quite friendly today. In the past there have been college aged students working there who just ignore you, but that seems to have improved. read more

I've gone to some poke places that includes crab mix in their bowls, but pokebola makes you choose it as a protein option. They lightly play pop music so it's not super loud. There's a table to the right of the door and some seating near the windows. Probably can fit max of 9-10 people. Seems more of a grab and go place. Honestly, I enjoyed my bowls last year (I always order in person). They were filled with lots of fish and seemed pretty fresh. Recently, the bowls have been subpar. Not enough fish is in my bowl. I had really fresh fish about a month ago, but my most recent one did not feel fresh. Another pretty standard poke place , nothing too exciting but pretty solid Compared to poke house , their small portion is about 70% percent in size but the price is also about 30% cheaper so that balances . Another thing I had noticed is that they're extremely stingy on their condiments. On all 4 visits I'd asked the counter person for a bit more condiments: a little more green onions, seaweed salad & roe. Each time they pretend to comply with just another skimpy pinch of each still not amounting to much. On my third visit, I witnessed one of the worker even taking back some of the extra skimpy pinch of seaweed salad off my bowl & putting it back (thinking he given me too much).. LOLOL.... Totally LAME! My coworker had also noticed & we had a good laugh off that !!!! A'La Poke still the KING in every category. NO COMPARISON!!! For the same price, their bowls are bigger & always filled! Not much going on, but once you go inside, I was instantly greeted by the worker who sent my on my way. Service, in a minuscule interaction, showed to be great. I ended up picking up my friend and seeing amazing parts of SF that I hadn't yet seen. But once I got home, tired and ready to eat, the food hit. And it HIT.
