Took to Yelp to find a spot in Japantown to eat. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. It's a very small space but the decor is nice. The server provided water and you have to place your order online by scanning the barcode. It was easier than expected. We ordered the fish balls, shrimp ramen, fried chicken ramen and spicy chicken bento box. The food was yummy! The table also had hot chili crisp oil and soy sauce. K Dragon is a cute little restaurant located in San Francisco's Japantown and it did not disappoint! You are able to order and pay using the QR code at the table but our group opted for physical menus and our server was more than happy to provide assistance! The ramen was great and came out hot, good amount of toppings and had a LOT of noodles. But we were hungry so that was a plus! The Unagidon was my favorite, the eel was plump and cooked perfectly, served in a bowl of rice. The takoyaki was also delicious and was destroyed by our table within minutes. There are many many food options there but K Dragon caught our eye and we ended up dining there the last two times. K Dragon is located at 22 Peace Plaza opposite the Restaurant Row building. It's across the under-construction "Peace Plaza". Although a narrow restaurant, it opens up slightly in the back with several wide dining tables. You order via the QR code via your phone. They do have physical menus available upon request. A friend had the Poke Bowl that looked amazing as did the noodle bowl. I was very disappointed with the Vegetable Tempura as the selection of vegetables was pretty nil. It is a smaller restaurant, but the vibes and ambience is great and chill. The hostess was really kind and welcoming. The food was delicious. This place could use a little love from customers - a tiny, charming spot in the east mall in Japantown above Diaso. And it is mostly empty when we go by. We passed it by the first time because no one was in it but I checked Yelp and people seemed to like it so we popped in before a movie at the kabuki. The food was very tasty and I was happy with my tan tan noodles. The waitress stayed in the kitchen the whole time, which seemed odd. When we left I asked her if she was cooking the food as well as serving and she said yes. Amazing. Apparently the construction in The Peace plaza has really hurt their business and it's a shame. A lot of places to eat in Japantown have long lines (especially on weekends) and I suggest walking over to the east mall and trying k Dragon. You won't have to wait. After coming to SF for the longest time I never really knew about this "Japantown" area of the city. We came in hungry not knowing where to eat but one thing for sure was we wanted ramen. We didn't see many other places until after we finished we noticed there was another side of the mall with tons more food spots The restaurant is pretty small on the East side of the Japan Center Mall right above the Daiso. We were greeted and immediately seated as it wasn't too busy. One thing that sucks is that you have to order yourself with a barcode so there's not really any "service" being given. You can order yourself to the table but can't pay online which doesn't make sense. We got the gyoza as an appetizer and the pork ramen to share as we never really finish one bowl each. The gyoza was actually one of the best ones I've tried in a while. The ramen was honestly saved by the pork as the broth and noodles didn't really wow us. Really impressed with K Dragon -- flavor was on point across the board. I got the Premium Ramen, Salmon Sashimi Salad, and Gyoza. My friend got the House Ramen. Everything hit. The Premium Ramen was super rich and flavorful -- the broth was deep and comforting without being overly salty, and the chashu was melt-in-your-mouth good. You can tell they take their time with it. Honestly one of the better bowls I've had in the area. The Salmon Sashimi Salad was a nice surprise -- fresh slices of salmon over crunchy greens, light dressing that actually worked with the fish instead of drowning it. Super refreshing, especially paired with the ramen. Gyoza were solid -- crispy outside, juicy filling, came out hot. Not reinventing the wheel but exactly what you want them to be.
