    ISLAND POKÉ & DDEOKBOKKI

Saucy Asian is a solid spot when you're craving flavorful Asian comfort food. The food is still really good, with bold sauces and satisfying portions. The interior has a fun street-style theme that gives the space a lively, casual vibe, which makes it a nice place to hang out with friends. Service is also a highlight, they're consistently fast and kind, and the staff does a great job keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. Overall, a great option for a quick, tasty meal with a cool atmosphere.

I ordered the Saucy Aisan Poke with a mixed green base, salmon and tuna. It came with spicy marinatade, carrots, slaws, white onions, kimchi gochujang aioli. The fish tasted good, but the overall flavor was a bit too overwhelming. I could mostly taste the sauce in my poke. The portion was also a little for me, so it didn't feel very filling. I also tried their sweet and spicy chicken wings, which were really delicious, it was juicy and flavorful. I highly recommended getting their fried chicken! It was easy to place an order, you can either order in person or use the kiosk machine. The staff were really friendly and attentive.

Saucy Asian is a fast casual Asian restaurant with decent variety and solid enough quality. After a long workout, my friends and I wanted something quick and simple to eat nearby and stumbled upon the Saucy Asian. The space has a few spots for sit down and eating, but not enough for too many people. We ordered through the tablet which provided several options such as bowls (including poke bowls) and burritos. I ordered the Island Poke Bowl. True to its name, the restaurant name the dish was pretty saucy one was mild spice and the other a creamy mayo that complemented each other well. It was a standard poke bowl with tuna and salmon and mixture of toppings. For the portions and size, it did come out to be a decent value since it was pretty big. In terms of service, the food was ordered on a screen and then the food came out relatively fast. There is minimal street parking so may need to park elsewhere and walk over. Overall, Saucy Asian is a decent food stop for Asian food that is decent value in the Castro area.

If you like your food saucyyyyy, this is the place to go. lol We've actually ordered from here through 3rd party apps. Both times definitely hit the spot. We tried their kimchee burrito - it had beans I think, which we normally exclude, but in this mashup, it was fine and delicious. Saucy burrito, not dry. saucy asian fries- also a solid savory delight. soy garlic wings - also tasty. kimchee quesadilla with bulgogi - hit the spot when you want a little cheesy savory goodness. spicy pork bibimbap - I'm pretty picky with spicy pork, and I really like theirs. tender, just the right amount of spicy, and again. SAUCY. what can I say, both times we ordered, we were satisfied and happy with our meals. It's filling but not food-coma. I'm only sad it's in the Castro and not closer to home, so I can pick it up more often. So a treat it is!

I imagine 3 college kids hanging out in a living room with mismatched furniture and joking, "We should put FRIES and KIMCHI in a burrito!" "Rad! But keep the guacamole - then stuff it with BULGOGI, yeah!" Whether you "bowl it, wrap it, fold it or poke it" you can find delicious Korean fast food that will satisfy cravings both in taste and quantity. The portions are generous and flavors are punchy. It hits all the notes of sweet-salty-fatty in a unique way. Both the Saucy Asian bowl and wrap with spicy pork and pan fried tofu (+$2) were hits and the wrap was so enormous it made two meals- not complaining in this economy. We also ordered the beef potstickers and soy garlic wings which were solid. Having driven past this cute eatery a dozen times, the decor is bouncy and fun and delivery, speedy. Three locations in Milpitas (Great Mall), Emeryville and San Francisco. Recommend, "like TOTALLY bruh, rad!!"

The spicy poke with salmon was mediocre as the salmon didn't taste very fresh nor had much salmon flavor. The spicy mayo sauce paired well with greens. Jalapeños added some extra spice. There was no wait on a Friday night. I ordered through the kiosk and got my food quickly after. There are window seatings and a tall center table.

I've been to this place before. I ordered Saucy Asian bowl with salad and rice and soy sauce chicken. I have noticed that the bowl has shrunk. It used to be bigger and now it's 3/4 of the size of the former bowl. There is no wait seed ice. There's a person at the cashier. I often wonder how places can ask for a tip when there's no wait service. It's a small place and I sat outside since it was a nice sunny day for lunch

Saucy Asian is a tasty, easy option in the area. They've got a good variety, bowls, burritos, loaded fries, and poke. I usually go for the spicy poke bowl with salmon and tuna. The fish is always fresh, and the toppings like slaw, cucumbers, jalapeño, tobiko, and kimchi aioli add great flavor. I'm not a big kimchi fan, but the aioli is really good. Next time I'll ask for no mixed greens and go all rice, it leaned more salad than rice bowl. Staff is always friendly and happy to accommodate. On a nice day, it's great to sit outside at the sidewalk tables.

The food I had delivered from here for lunch was so good. I never tried Asian tacos before but I love it. I may even order come back or order from this restaurant again sometime soon. The ambiance of the place looked amazing from what I've seen in pictures. What are you waiting for come down there and get yourself a bite to eat

    SAUCY ASIAN FRIES

I ordered off of DD. But LAWDDD they didnt lie about being saucy. I got the fries with spicy chicken and omgggg it's so good. Every bite has sauce. It was still warm when it arrived so I give high props. Yummy delicious and big portion too!

Saucy Asian. Condiment Queen. Saucy Minx. Just a few of my nicknames. (I joke, but did anyone catch that "Love Actually" reference?) True to social media pics (no catfishing here), the top of my Saucy Asian Bowl ($15.99 + $2 for bulgogi beef) was evenly coated in gochujang aioli. The bottom is layered with rice, mixed greens, & japchae noodles; I left my bowl unmixed which made each bite a flavor & textural surprise with additional crunchy elements coming from kimchi, slaw, & fried shallots. As the restaurant fuses Korean & Mexican flavors, I couldn't leave without ordering their tacos & burrito. My bf enjoyed the Spicy Pork Street Tacos ($14.49), so much so that he polished off all three in one sitting. The Cali Burrito ($14.99) was filled with Soy Sauce Chicken (thigh meat), fries, guac, cheese, cream, pico, & scallions, but the dominant flavor was their delicious garlic sauce. Generous portions, perfect for sharing. Well-made food for people who, like me, can't get enough of sauces & condiments. It took me too long to finally try Saucy Asian but I plan to make up for lost time by having their Kimchi Burrito & Bibimbap ASAP.

It was good food. I don't think I'll be back though. Good eats. Quick service and nice staff!

We ordered and dined in at Saucy Asian. Not sure if there were understaffed for the day, but it took quite a while for our food to come out. I think people normally order DoorDash from here and that's why there were so many orders even though the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was good, but not consistent. My friend and I ordered the exact same poke bowl but his was visibly significantly larger than mine. It's kind of a gamble, much like chipotle. Some days you will get a large bowl, some days it seems the fish is scarce. It would be nice to order and go to a nearby park to eat it for a picnic.

Once you step through the doors, however, you're greeted by a space that feels both cozy and contemporary, with an effortlessly stylish atmosphere. Even the restroom was thoughtfully designed and remarkably comfortable--a small detail, but one that speaks to the restaurant's overall attention to detail. We began with the Uni Scallop Toast and Mulhwe as appetizers. As someone who is typically not a fan of uni due to its pronounced brininess, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the toast. The bright citrus sauce balanced the richness of the uni beautifully, while the contrasting textures from the crisp toast and delicate scallop created a harmonious bite. The scallop also helped mellow the stronger oceanic notes of the uni. It was a creative and memorable dish unlike anything I've had before. The Mulhwe, a Korean-style fish salad, was dressed in a refreshing apple vinaigrette that gave it a light, summery citrus character. The fish itself had a pleasantly chewy texture--firmer than salmon--with no trace of fishiness. While enjoyable, it didn't leave quite the same impression as the uni toast and was my least favorite dish of the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Galbi Steak and Pork Jowl Bossam. Both dishes showcased exceptional execution. The meats were cooked perfectly, but what stood out even more was the precision in preparation. The steak was expertly sliced and incredibly tender--so much so that even with braces, it was effortless to enjoy. The pork jowl achieved an ideal balance between lean meat and luscious fat, creating a rich yet satisfying bite. We enjoyed the meal so much that dessert was non-negotiable. The Matcha Tiramisu was a creative interpretation of the classic. A dome of mascarpone cheese encased ladyfinger biscuits at its center, accompanied by a vibrant matcha ganache sauce. The dessert leaned far less sweet than traditional tiramisu, allowing the earthy matcha and creamy mascarpone flavors to shine. It was elegant, balanced, and a wonderful way to end the meal. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our server was soft-spoken, patient, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Considering the quality of the food, thoughtful presentation, ambiance, and service, I found the pricing to be completely justified. As a pleasant surprise, I later learned that Bansang is part of the same restaurant group behind Daeho--a detail that certainly explains the level of quality we experienced.

It turns out people collect their bottle caps in clear capsules. Fun idea. We were very pleased to hear Woodz for most of our dining experience. I love jokbal, and I've never had it served in this style. Usually I've had large platters of sliced meat, but this was a bowl of the boney parts. It was so delicious. It melted right off the bone, and it had a little heat. I want to go back for this alone. Also enjoyed a dish of kimchi fried rice and sotteok sotteok with a happy hour priced soju.

Super crispy and flavorful. - Bossam: was alright. About 5 pieces. Came with sauce, but could have used more marination and flavor. Also wish there was a lettuce to wrap with. - Pork bangbang: this was tender and super flavorful. - Stairway to heaven: this was a nice surprise. The sushi was presented in a really cool way and the quality was really good. - Fresh lemon soju: I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it looked like lemon slices in soju. But it was really good and I appreciated the freshness of the lemon. Overall, it was a great place for a GNO.

I first started eating at this place around 1990 and have at times stopped going once I moved out of the city. I try to go at least once a year. Have always enjoyed their clams, dried fried chicken, jia jiang mian, and seafood noodle soup. Clams were still plentiful, plump, and very fresh. Noodle were still good. The owner recommended I try the Jjamppong and tubot. The jjamppong like their other noodles were good but the standout was the turbot: steamed to perfection, fresh, and tasty. I can't compare it to other fish but it was soft, smooth, and buttery. I have seen the owner before cooking in the kitchen but it looks now father time has caught up and he is thoroughly enjoying helping out in the front. He was talkative and pleasant to talk to.

So I found this place and we walked in with few customers. We ordered a soup, and were about to order something else when the server/cook suggested we order the meal for 3. He let us substitute the white rice for fried rice and cashew chicken for lemon chicken that we wanted. Boy was it a real treat. We added a chicken chow mein and we weren't disappointed. All in all, we came out stuffed with leftovers, and great service to boot. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time which was surprising, how great the food and service were. Come here and you won't regret it!

The wait for the dish was almost 25 mins but all worth it !The complimentary soup and banchan were huge and alright. The servers know what they were doing but one minor thing about my experience was that the waitress served a really really hot dish at her convenience and I had to move it to the center for sharing. Since they're busy they expect you to finish your meal, pay and go.

This is my wife's favorite SF Korean restaurant, so I am glad that she was able to join me on this trip. Actually, my guest was the one that requested Korean today. LOL. Today, my guest ordered the following: Soft Tofu Soup - Complimentary. Now this has the most flavor of all the dishes. It also came out piping hot, see picture. Seafood Pancake - Overall good, I appreciate the precut slices, thanks. Makes eating and dividing easier. Marinated Chicken - Decent portions, tender, etc. But with minimum flavor. Broiled Fish, Broiled Mackerel - My guest loves fish, but she did not eat too much of this. So more food to bring back to the house for her. Stir-Fried Vermicelli - Good, but you can almost not mess this up. Actually, I make a pretty good Japchae. :) Banchan - 9 options; good variety and with decent to generous portions. Actually, all the dishes came out steaming, piping hot, and fresh. If you do not like spicy food, this is the place for you. Most, if not all, dishes including the banchan are not spicy. Atmosphere - Good size local restaurant. Table or booth seating. Private room in the back available. Hibachi style dining available. 2 clean bathrooms. See picture. Open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Street parking, it was not too bad. I got a space a few blocks away. Service - 3 stars. The owner is typically friendly but did not greet us today?!?! One waitress was extremely more professional than the other. I think the other waitress was in a bad mood?!?! It was not easy asking for stuff, tea refills, water, utensils, more banchan, etc. Price - $120 + tip. Reasonably priced for Korean food, especially because my guest will get another meal out of it from all our leftovers. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since...??? I have been coming here for 20+ years. Maybe 30+ years...? Or am I outdating myself...

Been here a couple of times already and the service never failed. Even came here during the Cherry Blossom Festival and the staff were still friendly / accommodating. They even put a spicy sauce on the side of one of the katsu plates when we mentioned that my dad couldn't handle all that haha. This cozy spot mainly focuses on katsu plates, but I like how they had off menu or specials to choose from if you'd like another option. I will say though them katsu plates were just chef's kiss. The meat is pounded thin enough where it's still juicy and tender, but doesn't affect the exterior from being crunchy and a bit flaky. Nothing was dry here yallll! I also like how it already comes with miso soup and salad. Huge fan of that Hamachi Truffle special though. Think of a citrusy flavor from the ponzu, fresh fish, a bit of micro greens, and a thin slice of jalapeño that just ~works~ on a cute wooden spoon that you want to steal I could honestly eat like 5 spoons of this. I'd skip on the calamari as it was kind of skimpy to share with a large group. Only note was that their fried katsu curry was a bit underwhelming with having more slices of carrots than potato! Would love to come back if I am ever in the area.

The army stew was not too salty and warmed us up! The soy garlic chicken was not overly sweet and was crispy too. The spicy pork was good but there were a few pieces that was chewy. It wasn't that spicy though but it still tasted good. The creamy pasta and tteok was good too and lived up to its name. We stepped inside to put our names on the list. While we waited outside we checked out their menu, which was conveniently displayed on their window. The dishes sounded great and it helped us decide what to order before we were even seated. The restaurant was on the smaller side, so seating was a tad cramped, but overall it felt cozy. They had a cute neon light with their name. We got a couple appetizers, which included the pan fried dumplings and tteokbokki. I ordered the Spicy Japchae for my main dish. They brought the banchan out pretty quickly, which we all devoured in seconds because we were so hungry. Then our main dishes started coming out of the kitchen. My spicy japchae was just the right amount of heat. Spicy enough to still be enjoyable. While eating our main dishes the pan fried dumplings came out, which was odd since we ordered it as an appetizer. And the tteokbokki we had ordered, never was added to our order by our waiter. After being told that by another waiter, we just decided to cancel it. The meal was pretty filling without feeling too heavy. Overall, it was decent.
