The atmosphere was nice, the servers were too; unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. Went for brunch, mom had shrimp and grits. That was about the closest thing to a real meal they had on the menu, though she said it was too salty. Everything else was small portions. The chicken and waffles were very small. I think there were like 3 mini waffles and the tiniest chicken tenders you've ever seen (no sauce for the chicken-just syrup). We started off with the cinnabiscuits, which were just average. In my opinion, those Pillsbury cinnamon rolls out of a tube are better. After realizing the waffles weren't going to do the truck, I ordered the classic breakfast, eggs were mushy, toast was dry... no butter, no jam or anything in sight. Apparently that's how they serve it. First of all, maybe disclose that the brunch menu are mostly tapas (small plates). I went there for happy hour one other time... way better! Also a lot more difficult to get a seat. They aren't great on beer selections, but they do have a litany of cocktails. Really you could just eat somewhere else after you've had a drink or two there. The appetizers and happy hour menu are above average, but not spectacular. I had fish and chips which were fairly good. The shrimp appetizer was also good. We had a chicken pesto pizza... it tasted weird to me. Forget about brunch, just do happy hour. read more

This was a really good find. The space has a cool casual vibe and is very spacious. Our table was by the garage-style doors that opened up and made it an open air spot, which was nice on this beautiful evening. The four of us had very tasty Confit Chicken Wings (could do with half the sauce) and Crispy Thai Shrimp (wonderfully lightly battered) appetizers to share. My Caesar Salad was good, although I took the hot peppers off. That left just the right amount of spice from the chili oil for my taste, and I like medium spicy dishes. My wife's Social House Salad looked great and the best dish was my Crab Crusted Red Snapper, which was prepared perfectly. The fried cauliflower rice side it came with was the real deal, with eggs and veggies mixed in the wok. The Tuna Bowl was so-so according to one of my daughters and the other's Szechuan Noodles were very over-sauced. She said the menu description sounded nice and light, but what came out was not that - more like a heavier lo mein. The overall quality was high for the prices and the service was quick, responsive, and friendly, so we would definitely come back again, but at least 2 of our party would order differently. I would anticipate giving 5 stars if we hit it better with our menu selections next time. read more

This restaurant offers a variety of American dishes that are sure to please any palate. I met my parents there on a weeknight, and we were blown away by the quality food and service. We started with a bottle of wine from their extensive list, and then moved on to our appetizers of street corn nachos. I had the wedge salad to kick off the main course, which was crisp and refreshing, and then the margarita pizza, which was perfectly baked and topped with fresh basil and mozzarella. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and they made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was busy, but not too noisy or crowded. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the decor was modern and stylish. Kitchen Social is hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to in Cleveland so far, and I can't wait to go back. Where on earth do I start. We weighed several options for some early dining. We ended up here. Most of us have hade prior positive encounters. Tonight was different. We went for a 5:15 reservation Saturday during the derby. We sat in the back where it was a tad quieter. Our waitress was very nice. I will hold off on her name. We were in no hurry. We ordered some drinks. We finally started talking apps. We discussed the wings. We asked very specifically about crispness. She said two things to us one, there are 10;to an order. Two, the wings when ordered crispy, come with sauce on the side. Unfortunately, neither were true. It was too bad, as we had high hopes. We also ordered the guacamole and queso. Both were merely ok at best. The guacamole was flavorless and a bit thick. The queso was just food service gunk. We then moved on to entrees. This is where we had a bit of a stumble. Friends ordered a burger and the SZECHUAN NOODLES. The noodles were a big miss and neither completed or enjoyed it. We also did a burger and the BLACKENED SHRIMP CAPELLINI, which she recommended. The ingredients listed on the dish were merely descriptors and not actually present in the dish. We all thought the blackened shrimp were way hot and there was absolutely no cooling or contrast from the cream. Just none. It was a Actually dry because of that. We also ordered some crispy chicken for the table. It was indeed crispy but did not have enough chicken to batter. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Burgers were ok. My BLACKENED SHRIMP CAPELLINI was forgotten altogether. Most were done eating when it came and on top of that, it wasn't worth the wait. Our guys was that the college girl forgot it. She also forgot some other sauces and details. It was exhausting. We still tipped "T" 22%, which kind of pissed me off since she was responsible for most of the mistakes, not the kitchen. No manager visits. No considerations. I am tired of fighting for a fair experience. A few hundred dollars later we left to go somewhere else maybe Social, but not getting the Kitchen part just yet. read more

We had booked for a table of six this evening, Sunday, August 11th and requested to be seated by their open garage doors. Though they didn't have any tables available over there when we arrived, we were happy to wait as the rest of our family had yet to get there. I informed a woman named Hannah (hostess or manager possibly, not sure) that my mother had a concussion and really we just needed a quieter spot. When something opened up on the patio she gave me options and led me on a tour of the restaurant to get my opinion on what I thought would be best. This was the sweetest gesture and definitely appreciated by myself and my family as the place was quite busy/bustling at the time. Beyond that, our server Christian was amazing. He took great care of us even though he was quite busy. These two truly made the experience exceptional and the food was great too. They know how to do business around here. I'd highly recommend to anyone and their families. I'd also recommend making a reservation as they were still on a wait when we arrived roughly an hour before they were to close, a good sign. Let me start off by saying wow. Just wow. The Kitchen Social on Westlake is hands down one of the best establishments in Cleveland, Ohio. This fine restaurant may be the savior of Ohio, giving people a reason to travel to the state. From the decor to the service everything was perfect (don't worry I will get to the food). When I received my Tuna Bowl I was shocked at the portion size. I could not believe how much food I got for the price I paid. It was as if I was feeding for two. The ingredients smelled wonderful and they tasted exquisite. It was almost as if my tuna was fresh out of the Ocean. I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait to return to Ohio so I can stop in at The Kitchen Social on Westlake. my children's children will talk about this restaurant and the wonders it brings to not only the state of Ohio but also The United States. read more

Be ready, it was very very loud between the music and everyone talking and raising their voices to be heard. We ordered the whipped feta appetizer. Very good and the bread that comes with it is restocked with no charge. We got the shrimp bowl and veggie bowl. Both were good, however they do have some spicy components. The star of our experience was the service and our server Matt specifically. He took the time to ask each of our names and remembered them. He was extremely attentive, but not obtrusive. When we asked for something it was handled immediately. His service was so good we asked for the manager to come over at the end of the dinner just to give him our appreciation of Matt's and the rest of the staff's service. For us, the service is 1/2 of the experience of a great dinner and they delivered on this. We will be back, but maybe not on a weekend night due to the noise, that was our only drawback. read more

This was one of the most frustrating restaurants to be at for a family dinner. It was way to loud and there was no way I could even hear my little sister right next to me. On top of all of that the kitchen was so slow with our appetizers and our main course. We went around 6pm on a Saturday. We like to sit at the bar and got seats right away. The bartender was very attentive and he made a really nice Old Fashioned. Our food arrived promptly. We had the Whipped Feta, the fried cauliflower, and a pizza which were all delicious, plus the brown sugar cake which was amazing. $75 for four plates and two drinks was very reasonable. Looking around, I'm a little jealous I didn't order an entree because they all looked really incredible, especially the snapper. My only nitpick is that it can be quite loud if you're looking for more of a dark, quiet ambiance. But it was a very energetic, bright, atmosphere, with friendly staff and great food!
