Get the French onion soup available every Tuesday! It's one of the best French onions I've ever had. When you order coffee, they give you a nice, healthy portion versus diners that give you a little teacup. And get the everything-style English muffin, baked fresh in the morning, and get the sausage gravy on top while you're at it! I just want to say this Retaurant is a "diamond in the rough"! Truly! This little restaurant in Mt Holly NJ is a place of delectable delight and deliciousness that one typically expects in major metropolitan cities. First, the hostess/waitress (didn't get her name) was friendly and inviting when we walked through the door to a crowded standing-only wait for a seat to eat. Secondly, the explanation of the specials by our waitress Katie was on point and made our mouths water just from her description. Her energy and cordial nature was infectious and made us feel so welcomed. Lastly, THE FOOD. Awesomely Delicious! Those are the two words that sum it up. However, I will explain. I had scrambled eggs with sausage, cheese grits and French Toast with strawberries....all fairly simple dishes but oh so delicious. My companion had scrambled eggs, grits, bacon and a pancake. Small little diner right off the Main Street in Mt. Holly, this place is awesome. It was busy the whole time we were there. Being a local, I do not know how I missed this spot. It specializes in breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and we focused on the morning meal. We ordered 3 eggs any way (sunny side up), French toast, and shrimp & grits. All were done very well and each would get ordered again for sure. Oh, everything is made to order, so if there are any special requests, it shouldn't be a problem. We were able to swap out the pork bacon for turkey bacon in the grits. The service was also very quick and friendly. My brother who lives in Hainesport took me here for breakfast. Actually I took him out for this birthday, but he happened to highly recommend Kitchen 87. Service is excellent and very friendly. They would make anything you want for breakfast. Prices are very reasonable too. I had the "everything English Muffin" which is supposedly homemade. I am a huge fan of Eggs Benedict. This was probably the BEST I've ever had. Fresh made biscuit, topped with large chicken tender fried with spicy seasonings, sliced dill pickles and topped with egg (over-easy: my preference) and house made hollandaise sauce. OMG! To die for. I've eaten brunch here a few times already. Each time is better than the last. The staff is very helpful and personable. They always have interesting specials that make it difficult to order off the regular menu. It is very reasonably price (even a bargain for the amount and quality of the food). After parking in a suspect looking lot, we made out way into the restaurant last week. It is definitely a cute establishment and the staff seem more friendly to the regulars, but we were not totally ignored. The food was good, just not as spectacular as we were hoping. The eggs and biscuit were the highlights but the corn beef hash was just meh and the grits were almost inedible (they came out cold and pasty). Found this place on Yelp after attending an estate sale in Mount Holly. By the time we got there, it was lunchtime, and the signs on the wall said they were voted Best Burger in New Jersey, so we figured we should go with that. They do have lots of customizable options, including beef, turkey, and Portabello mushroom. You also have a great choice of sides. The onion rings were amazing, and the tots were good. My companion really enjoyed his turkey burger, and while my burger had a great garlicky taste to it, it was unfortunately cooked way more than the medium I had ordered. I ate it anyways, and enjoyed it, but this did knock a bit off my rating. It was also a little pricy, since with my customizations my burger ended up being $17. If I was in there area here again, I would go back, especially since they do live up to their motto of good & simple food, but I probably would get a different entree. read more

Well... this was our first time visiting and I can honestly say.... the food was Yummy!! And the staff there are so friendly. The place reminds me of the TV show "Friends". That was even tasty. Not salty and crispy just the way I like it. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. 2 eggs, Pork Roll and cheese and it came with a side of potatoes. The sandwich was tasty. The roll was nice and soft, the eggs were cooked just right and the Taylor ham was good. All and all the food here was reasonably priced and the quality was very good. The crunchy breading on the chicken with the hot and sweet buffalo sauce was a great compliment to the soft and tasty waffles. My wife had the juevos rancheros. She says that they were the best juevos rancheros she ever had- tortillas were crunchy and served as a great vehicle for the tasty juevos, chorizo and extras.
