This place is SPOTLESS CLEAN! The servers are Amazing and Sweethearts! The Food is DELICIOUS and Fabulous! The prices are Doable and Decent! My wife and I went here for breakfast today. We had an amazing experience. Our server Shea was one of the best servers I had the pleasure of meeting. Her knowledge of the menu and great personality was top notch. As for the food, one word Aweeeeesome. My wife had the sausage gravy over biscuits and potatoes on the side. She said it was very delicious and one of the best biscuits and gravy meals she had. I had the breakfast bowl special which after today will not be on the menu. It was the best breakfast bowl I ever had hands down. The quality of the ingredients were stunning. The bowl consisted of Chorizo, two eggs any way you like, avocado, pickled onions, black beans, jalapeño peppers,and tomatoes tossed in olive oil. The flavors are amazing. I only wish they would keep it in the menu. And yes I will go there again to try other menu items. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by their 4.7 Star rating until we visited! They get 5.0 Stars from me. My wife and I wanted to try a different restaurant, so today, we headed to Kitchen 87 to give them a try! I was a little concerned when we arrived with the line but we were seated quickly. After reviewing the menu, we asked our server, Victoria, to explain just what was on their ABC Panini! She explained that it was Avocado, Bacon and Chicken with roasted red peppers and a special aioli! That sounded awesome so we both ordered one!!! What a great sandwich served with their sweet potato fries - what a complimentary pairing! Victoria was right on with her explanation and recommendation! They were so good, we are looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu! Give them a try if you're in the neighborhood and if not, they are worth the trip! Very full restaurant! Stopped in for lunch during a road trip and many people looked to be enjoying their experience. Many who seemed local and the waiters and waitresses knew their order and knew their customers, and several of the customers knew each other. Always a good sign when a restaurant is crowded with local customers. The food was delicious, and I would recommend the corn muffin. Though it was a little oily on one side, it was amazing over all. The buffalo chicken wrap was perfect to share along with a side of sweet potato fries, coleslaw, and pickles! Friendly and attentive service and the decor was awesome too! There was a picture of a family wearing Kitchen87 uniforms and also a big Kitchen87 sign that gave great aesthetics. We will definitely return on our next pass through town. read more

However, the recent special I was lucky enough to experience was a game changer! Ladies and gents, let's talk about the "Shrimp Nashville Gravy Benedict". It's a cheddar biscuit, topped by battered/fried jumbo shrimp, adorned with Nashville hot sauce, and capped with over-easy eggs. THIS WAS MAGICAL!!! Truly a great find! Our server was attentive, friendly and funny. The food was great. The ambiance was nice and comfortable. I ordered shrimp and grits which was good (with a side of crispy hash browns). My daughter really liked their Reuben sandwich (and this place is great for those with peanut and sesame seed allergies! Thank you!). But I would say the winner was my husband's breakfast sandwich- he ordered one with two fried eggs, Swiss cheese, mushrooms and pork roll and claimed it's the best breakfast sandwich he ever had. She was bright and is the reason for extra stars. I had the pancakes, always my gauge for a good breakfast spot. Light and fluffy, I didn't want to share, but did. lol. My husband had huveos rancheros with avacado jalapeños. It was served with poached eggs as requested. Amazing! Will be going again. This place never disappoints. The shrimp & grits is my absolute favorite (bursting my flavors)! The Huevos rancheros is also delicious. This was my first time at Kitchen 87 and the customer service was outstanding!! I was approached by staff as if I was family!! I was hooked from the energy and vibe I received when walking in!! I order chicken and waffles with corn beef hash with a cranberry drink on the side! I got all of this food under 20$! Food was delicious!! This place is easy to miss when driving down the road, but you'll be sorry if you do! My boyfriend introduced me to this place as this was somewhere he used to go to with his family. This tiny restaurant was packed to the brim when we came in at around 11:30am. We had a 20 minute wait time and decided to wait in the car. They gave us a call as soon as a spot opened up and we were seated at the counter. Despite how busy and hectic it was, the staff members were all super friendly and attentive and you can tell this is just the type of place that builds great relationships with their customers. They would joke and talk with customers while also working quickly! Our server brought over our drinks soon after we sat down and took our order as soon as she had a second (it looked like she had a million tasks!). I got the Huevos Rancheros with avocado and over easy eggs while my boyfriend got the Chicken and Waffles with sauce on the side. The food came out fast and was phenomenal! The meat in the Huevos Rancheros was packed with so much flavor and the tortilla on the bottom added a nice crunch. I was so full but could not stop shoveling more into my mouth, I was in a definite food coma after finishing the entire plate! The Chicken and Waffles were also done so well with the chicken being so crispy and going great with the sweet sauce. You can't go wrong with a classic! Staff was extremely friendly and the wait was not long for a Saturday (25min for two) plus the food was super yummy! Everything on the menu is so cheap and you get a lot of food for what you pay! Dear Kitchen 87, I am super-impressed with your ability to serve the multitudes of hangry locals who show up at your door every morning. The dishes are the perfect size, the prices are really affordable and the chatter between tables makes the place seem like everyone from the neighborhood just showed up one morning in Grandma's kitchen and all became fast friends. I can't wait to go back and try the omelette, I had the tofu special, which was not greasy and didn't make me feel like I just ate three breakfasts to myself. My sis had the fried chicken and pumpkin waffle, which was waffly good (har har har) and my other sis reluctantly gave up some of her fried potatoes so I could have a taste of those too (super crispy, not greasy, nor burnt). I have only had breakfast here and they only do breakfast and lunch. However, I can tell you that when I get my omelet usually ham bacon, sausage, and American cheese, the meat is falling out of it, there is so much. It is a fantastic omelets, but as good as that is, you have to try their home made English muffins.! read more

Should have tried Kitchen87 long ago! We will be back in the near future. They have the fundamentals down pat: tasty, fluffy, big pancakes, eggs cooked exactly as requested, homemade biscuits, fresh hot coffee, excellent service. Two of us ordered standard breakfast items. Eggs, pancakes and sausage. Chicken and egg sandwich on a light breakfast roll with home fries. The stuffed french toast special had a creamy lemon filling, sweet raspberry sauce and lemon whipped cream. My husband said I was having dessert rather than breakfast. I counted it as both. The decor is simple yet funky. A row of booths run from front to back, an row of tables run parallel. There are a half-dozen counter seats. We arrived at 11am on a Sunday and waited 30 minutes. By the time we left at 12:30, folks were being seated right away. The crowd is diverse in every way from us old folks to families with little children to 20-somethings hanging with friends. Went here because I had a taste for breakfast and I had wondered how the food was here since it's so close to home and such high ratings. Off street parking available which shouldn't be a hassle. Straight to the point, the environment is nice and cozy. They were actually renovating the bathroom while i was there. Everything looked updated but the tables did have stains from the coffee. This may detract others but not so for myself. Food: French Toast (3 slices of bread cut in half making 6 pieces) was fantastic. The taste was nothing short of what I expected from previous pictures of reviews. The eggs needed some flavor along with the potatoes. The turkey bacon was also very good and well cooked. My wife had a chicken and egg sandwich which she was not too fond of. I tasted it and it was a bit bland but nothing salt and pepper could fix. If you're looking for a good breakfast I would definitely try this place. One thing I was a bit annoyed with was when I got the bill there was an additional charge for onions and peppers (only .25 each) but still. It was presented during the order as a suggestion to add on as if it came with the meal. On a road trip to DE, we got hungry and decided to pull off the NJ Turnpike at Exit 5 and Yelp a lunch place. Pulled up right in front and thought, what a dump! Then we walked in...and wow! Place was packed, and it was maybe an hour before closing. We were sat at the only 4-top available, greeted by a gregarious waiter, and given menus. My cousins each had a wrap, one with chicken, spinach, mozzarella, came w fries; the other one I forget what was in it but it was served with house-made, warm, crunchy, delicious fresh potato chips. My husband had a vegetarian omelette that was absolutely loaded w veggies, and an everything English muffin (also house-made) I had the huevos rancheros, something I generally love but this wasn't the best choice I could have made. I should've seen the red flag when I heard fried tortillas, since usually they're not fried. I should've asked when the waiter said chorizo - I envisioned some chunks like in a paella, but this was more like chopped meat, and a humongous portion plus the requisite black beans. Two sunny side up eggs, some sliced avocado, and jalapeños to boot - I'm a big eater but it was too much! The everything English muffin was yummy, and the waiter had told us that they're house made and sold by the dozen, frozen. We couldn't resist - but should've asked for the price first! $30. + tax, for 12 muffins! Delicious but awfully pricey. If you want a substantial and good breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend Kitchen87! read more
